Yeah I’m not surprised, confident young women have never done well in the Strictly vote and to be fair, I see why people aren’t taking to Maisie. We haven’t really seen her vulnerability yet, it’s all the cockiness so far. I thought I’d love her this series sad.gif I’m not counting her out yet I guess. It’s a shame for Dianne going out with two contenders in Week 4 two years in a row (well Dev was better than Max) but it’s a difficult leaderboard.

Ugh I can't stop thinking about Clara's Charleston, it was amazing to see a proper traditional Charleston. I always love a Charleston but a lot of the time you get the "silly" or goofy ones that are character driven, but Clara had nowhere to hide and nailed all the technicalities.

Same here! I've watched it numerous times since and it's great to see all the love pouring out to her for someone so deserving! Plus a genuine technically strong dance! Definitely a step up from previous weeks even if she had been undermarked.

I honestly feel like Clara's the only competition to Bill winning. That Charleston was such a breakthrough dance, like Kelvin's Samba last year wub.gif

How ridiculous lol. The public striking this early on in the series - I get the standard is high but I really don’t see what Maisie did to end up there, I wouldn’t say there’s anything particularly unlikeable about her although as pointed out young women aren’t allowed to be anything other than timid, but it’s not even like she’s overly in-your-face with her confidence! Guess she’s not winning then...

JJ getting that free pass as I expected.

I think she was in an unfortunate spot on the leaderboard and In a position where some probably thought she was safe. Its odd though as HRVY was in a similar position last week; third from bottom due to some crazy scoring. Surprised Maisie was there instead of Caroline though.

I think JJ's whole theme would've pulled in the votes. Ranvir must have also built up a bit of a fanbase over the last few weeks too.

You can't really call it his breakthrough when it was his first of the season laugh.gif

Maybe more like Emma Barton's Viennese Waltz or Alex Scott's Charleston?

Okay yeah oops laugh.gif but breakthrough in the sense that he was definitely getting to at least the semi-final after that dance in the same way I feel Clara’s now gonna get far for sure!

The way Shirley said she’d have saved Max and Dianne!

I don’t think she’s fond of Maisie. But sometimes Shirley is a bit hard on female contestants especially ones who are actually good but she loves the males laugh.gif

This week is a "homage to Blackpool" and these are the dances:

Bill & Oti: American Smooth to Under My Skin by Frank Sinatra
Caroline & Johannes: Cha Cha Cha to Rescue Me by Fontella Bass
Clara & Aljaz: Samba to That's The Way (I LIke It) by KC and the Sunshine Band
HRVY & Janette: Tango to Golden by Harry Stles
Jamie & Karen: Street to Gonna Make You Swear (Everybody Dance Now)
JJ & Amy: Quickstep to For Once In My Life by Stevie Wonder
Maisie & Gorka: Salsa to Better Than I'm Dancing
Ranvir & Giovanni: Argentine Tango to When Doves Cry by Prince

I'm worried for Ranvir this week, feels a bit early for an AT!

Pretty sure Jay McGuiness already did an Argentine Tango to 'When Doves Cry'.

I feel like Caroline’s doing really well in the public vote I’m not worried for her yet at this stage.

She really appeals to Strictly voters.

I think its been used about 4-5 times

I'd say it'll be Caroline that is most in danger - her storyline of older contestant does well has been taken over by Bill and really she hasn't improved or shown anything different in any of her dances

Intrigued to see how Maisie is scored. She’s been underscored by the judges up to now but will she be over-scored this week because she was in the dance off?
Interestingly Motsi said she’d have saved Max as well had she been there.

Worried for Clara after that! But I'm hoping she was so blatantly unfairly treated compared to the likes of JJ who were just as bad, that she'll get a lot of votes of support. It's often better to be last than dangerously in the middle, that was Maisie's downfall last week.

I'm cautiously optimistic this week will be JJ vs Caroline.

Also nervous for Clara.

There’s no way Jamie deserved 10s for that though no way at all the scoring is dreadful. Over marked doesn’t come close!

As for the dance off. I wouldn’t be shocked if Maisie fell into it tbh I just have a strange feeling she could.

I don’t think Clara will be in it though. An unpredictable week because Jamie I’d have put as a possible candidate but because he’s top this week I’d say he’s the safest.
