Chart Commentary

A big thank you to all those 17 of you who commented on last week's personal chart, including James Frost ⛄️⛄️⛄️, WiseManFromLeeds, Sven10, JeffRayGun, Santa's Haz, christmdhas, Jason, 360Jupiter, Nick F1, Snakin' Stevens, JosephCarey, Mango, toffonews, popchartfreak, AH Gold, RobinJuanPersie and liamk97.

As already stated in last weeks commentary, "Rockabye is going to be up there as one of my best songs from 2016." I've listened to quite a lot of music from Clean Bandit since they became mainstream just 2 years ago, and nothing has got me quite as hooked as this single. I can't believe it's been #1 for such a long time now. There is no change at #2 this week with Jonas Blue denied a #1 for a second week.

Plenty of songs climbing in the chart this week, and most notable perhaps is Britney & Tinashe climbing up to #3 with Slumber Party. Naughty Boy is also on the rise as he enters the Top 5 this week, as well as the utterly infectious Dye My Hair from Alma. Danish DJ Kölsch is the biggest climber this week who finishes up at #7. Röyksopp also avoid exiting the Top 10 for a further week by climbing one place. There are no new entries in the Top 10 this week.

The highest new entry comes from Zara Larsson this week who tops off a fantastic 2016 for her. I Would Like enters at a respectable #13. One Direction member Louis Tomlinson debuts this week with the help of Steve Aoki at #16. Other new entries this week come from Jax Jones feat. RAYE, Tom Odell and Matoma.

The 5 songs out of the Top 40 this week come from Galantis & Hook N Sling, Sia, Skylife, Emeli Sandé and Lady Gaga.
