Welcome one and all to everyone's favourite semi-regular chart game (of the last 2 that still exist, come at me Reshuffle).

This is UK Chart Survivor, where the Chart Forum masses and Johnkm battle to determine BuzzJack's favourite generic female pop song out of the 40 songs that have dominated the UK music buying public's tastes over the last four weeks. The songs that are eligible are determined by a simple points system taking the four relevant Official UK top 100s and giving 100 to each week's #1, 99 to each week's #2 etc. down to 1 for each week's #100. The 40 songs with the highest cumulative tally go ahead to the Chart Survivor (so sorry 36-91-x kind of songs but you're not welcome here).

Playing the game is very simple. The 40 songs are divided into four heats of 10 songs. You place a vote for your LEAST favourite song on the list. This is done as such;

Voila. Once a song receives its fourth vote it is removed from the list and no longer eligible for the prestigious Survivor crown.

There are a few basic rules. After you have submitted a vote, you must wait for at least 2 other posters to submit a vote before you can vote again. You can also only vote for the same song 3 times, so you can't get a song out based on your own opinion alone.

Once seven songs have been eliminated and three remain in a heat, the next song to be voted out is not out for good, but is entered into a play-off round. The last two songs standing go great to the grand Survivor finale.

After the fourth heat concludes, the play-off round takes place and it's a simple deathmatch - four songs, two spots in the final. The first two songs to be voted out are removed from the contest and the other two complete the ranks of the grand finale.

The final works in the same way as the heats, only this the last 3 songs remaining get medal positions and are added to the first post. The winner, the very last song standing after 39 others have been eliminated, gets the luxury of... erm... pride I guess.
