Black Parade is a proper single then? And even if it is, does it really warrant an A-list add just from her name alone? It's not like it's setting the charts alight either.

I know it's tune of the weekend but don't know why they're waiting to playlist 'Savage Love' when it's already clear that it's going to be huge. Maybe they'll add it straight to A-list next week - especially if it's looking like being number one.

It doesn't look like they'll be adding Sia, despite her being tune of the weekend a couple of weeks ago

No Celeste either? Her new song has been out for a few weeks now and I thought they'd be fully behind it from the get go.

Great to see Ella Henderson back on the playlist though

Still at only 11 tracks on the c list! Wonder if they’ll ever bother going back up to 12?
Also surprised that bring me the horizon weren’t insta - added, aren’t they normally added straight away?
Happy for Ella Henderson though, and I prefer The Streets’ track to the one they did with Tame Impala so I’m glad to see them on there.

Yeah I noticed it was still 11 tracks. Third week now I think. No idea why they've dropped one though!
BMTH have been insta-added a couple of times but it's not always guaranteed.
I prefer this Streets track too, it's good to see them still being supported after all these years.

I’ve got a feeling Savage Love is not quite to Radio 1’s taste so they’ll begrudging playlist it and only ever move it up to the B-list akin to Dance Monkey last year.

I do like the song though.

I’ve think the same actually! They never seem to really like songs that aren’t quite ‘cool’ enough for them. It’s why I’m quite surprised that Niko B has been playlisted too.

Ella getting the R1 playlisting alongside how well she’s performing on AM, iTunes and Spotify... I can actually see this becoming a bit of a hit! hopefully another Top 20 under her belt.

Radio 1 does add some non proper single to their list time to time. like Formation was added back in 2016 Feb.
they obviously did it because of current issue + her name value. I don't see it last long.

Yeah I thought the exact same thing too, I reckon it's going to be this year's 'Dance Monkey'.

Also noteworthy is that this is the first time they've playlisted Inhaler (I thought they'd done so before but I checked and they haven't). I don't know how much of their hype is down to the fact that the lead singer is Bono from U2's son but they seem to have quite a big following.

They have some older ones from the U2 connection, but you can't get such a large young fanbase from that alone (as some other artists have found ). They've had support slots for Blossoms and Courteeners which have helped as well.

I think Nike B is a lot younger than Jason and is seen as cooler; something fresh and different. I really like the Niko B track as a matter of fact.

I think Jason Derulo isn’t Radio 1’s cup of tea and it will take a mega hit, like Savage Love, for them to playlist him at all.

Surprised to see Beyoncé instant A-Listed, this release feels like it's been kind of a non-event - song is pretty boring as well imo. (I guess it's intended more to just be a statement than a hit single though, appreciate the meaning behind it of course, just don't think it's up to much as an actual song)

Cool to see The Streets added again but this song isn't as good as 'Call My Phone Thinking I'm Doing Nothing Better', not bad though. That's probably the only addition that's of any interest at all to me this week.

Take this annoying song from Megan/B out of the playlist, enough is enough. Also, why put on this new Beyoncé song straight into the A-list playlist, when this song didn't even make it into the Top 40, even though it was supported by playlists? People clearly don't care for this boring song.

Put on 'Savage Love', which will be a real hit.

Savage has had its time in the chart. It will never reach #1 so it needs to go. I was hoping for DaBaby to be removed but they don’t remove songs which are currently #1

I kind of understand what Hadji means Radio 1 should be playing new music so once a song has peaked they should start promoting newer songs, capital can play that stuff for months on end.

Radio 1 shouldn't just remove songs that have been out longer than x period of time though! The casual audience will want to hear songs like Savage, especially as it's still firmly in the top 10. I expect it'll probably be removed next week or the week after anyway. Quite honestly, The 1975 feel more questionable on that A list at this moment still.

I am glad Savage has had such great support from R1 though I feel like it will only be there for 1-2 more weeks. Great to see Black Parade insta-added also - whether it’ll be as longrunning as Savage I’m doubtful given the public’s reception so far but any support is good support
