I think this is becoming my joint second favourite Gaga album now.
Pretty close to matching or even overtaking The Fame Monster. It’s an amazing album the duets are beautiful but the Gaga solos are EVERYTHING! I constantly change my favourite solo Gaga track with each listen but this has rightly brought her back to being a chart force. It’ll probably become her second longest charting album too in the UK (after The Fame). |

This album now has the record for most consecutive weeks at #1 in New Zealand, with 16! The previous record was 15 set by ABBA in 1976 and matched by Ed Sheeran in 2017. It can't extend this record though as it was just dethroned by Ariana, but it can challenge for the most non-consecutive weeks at #1, which is 28 weeks set by Adele. It's also tied with Grease for most weeks at #1 by a soundtrack.

Up to #3 in midweeks now in UK (was #6 on Mondays update).
I’ve loved this era so much I’m actually gonna miss it. The way it’s performed comercially and critically has been insane. Never seen so much love for Gaga on a universal level like ever!! It’s my second fave Gaga era after Born This Way now as well. |

Yes, I love how critical "hipster" publications like Vice and Pitchfork are totally in love with her now too! All the positive attention she's getting makes me so happy!!

Some of my friends who never understood her before like her now as well! One even said I never knew she could sing I thought girl where have you been but I honestly think that’s probably been another common factor in her winning new fans.
But also the songs themselves like aside from Shallow which is like her biggest single since her debut era or at least since Born This Way the single we had Always Remember Us This Way and I’ll Never Love Again had multiple weeks top 40 in the UK in the streaming age which was fantastic as the songs are the opposite of what’s typically played on there. I think it just felt like a real authentic campaign and I feel the image may have also helped too. I also love the random articles popping up about her on my news feed now, my feed yesterday was full of shares of the oscars performance and the Madonna picture too. I’d say right now she’s probably back to being the most powerful person in music. |
