It seems the wait for Rita's third album will be much shorter than the wait for the second!

Fashion magazine WWD have reported - "The bubbly artist has had a busy year. She recently wrapped her third album, due out some time next year. “It’s pop music, but it’s just a very big surprise, a big shock of material. I’ve experimented a lot so I’m excited to hear what people think,” she said.
Looking forward to seeing what she means by those comments!
SO EXCITED
Very hyped!! So glad she’s not taking long off before release some new music!
can't waait
Yayyyyy! Very excited and I'm so happy we won't have too much longer to wait!
I’m not gonna get too excited as I remember we didn’t have long to wait for album 2 back in 2014
But that’s good news I guess that means we’re not gonna get a Phoenix re release and I imagine we’ll get the third album at some point before summer. I can’t see it being a Q4 release again.
Excited to hear the direction she’s went in for this era though
I'll believe it when I see it, she's basically the woman who cried album.
If the album comes in 2020 it would be good as Rita certainly does not need another huge gap between Phoenix and another album.
An album next year would be good.
I've read that the lead single is gonna be a Lewis Capaldi song??? cannot be, right?
As in Lewis wrote the track (like Ed and Your Song) or a duet between the two?
Hyped for this album! Phoenix was v solid!
I hope it comes out next year and it doesn't get hit with huge delays like Phoenix did.
Do you think this album will go ahead and meet its 2020 release?
I hope so but we never know! I don’t think it’ll be as bad as the wait for Phoenix was though

Rita Ora talks "crazy, amazing, exciting" third album: "I want to turn people on their heads"
Rita has opened up about plans for her next album in a new interview.
Rita Ora has shared details about her upcoming third studio album.
Speaking to Music Week, Rita - currently Number 1 on the UK's Official Singles Chart as part of the Live Lounge Allstars - promised a "crazy, amazing, exciting direction" for her next album.
"I want to turn people on their heads, turn things around 360 and introduce some live instrumentation, experiment sonically, work with people I've never worked with before and do some more soulful tracks," she explained.
"Trying to meet expectations never goes to plan ... so I've been focusing on my own path, which is making amazing pop music, experimenting and making a new sound, being sonically proud."
Fans will have to wait a bit longer for the collection than they might have expected, however. Rita's manager Sarah Stennett said that due to the coronavirus pandemic, "it's very doubtful the album will come out this year."

She better scrap all 2019 songs that she recorded. They all sounds bland.
I was listening to Phoenix yesterday and it’s a very good album. However, the last song was quite weak in comparison to anything she has done recently so I hope the new material is much better.
Only just saw that Lewis demo tweet, he should've kept the song for himself! Sounds much better for him
I don't know who thought it was a good idea
Another feature or two will happen before new material from a 3rd album.
I wonder what will happen next it seems she’s not coming till late october..
News on new material has turned very quiet.
next year lol ok zara larsson
Exciting! Hopefully this means the first single is coming soon! I’d guess early in the new year?
Signed with BMG.
New music asap pls!!
wow! unexpected!
has she really the record for most uk top 10s for a Uk female singer?
Omg, she's now officially a heritage act!
oh don't tell me Rita had the record but Jess Glynne matched it after her Xmas Alexa song!!!!!
every new album has a new record deal... surely thats some kinda record.
I’d forgotten she hasn’t released an album since late 2018.
Was ‘How To Be Lonely’ meant to be the lead before it did absolutely nothing or was it always a standalone single?
I really like her and "Big" deserved to be massive - I just don't see her getting success again unfortunately . Happy to be proven wrong though!
I agree. Pop music is so dead that I've got zero expectations that any music from her will do well commercially, but I'm just hoping for some fun bops.
How they ever thought "How To Be Lonely" would be a hit is beyond me
If she had come back with Bang Bang of Big at that stage, I think she could have got at least a Top 20 hit.
i think they were hoping she'd get a hit out of it because Lewis Capaldi wrote it... similar technique to 'Your Song' with Ed Sheeran.
it’s insane she’s only had two albums
this woman must have hundreds of unreleased tracks
There is always huge delays with her albums, she really turned everything around with anywhere and the 2nd album did well considering all the delays but all the momentum is gone again.
Next year.
According to ATRL (sourced from ahamusic), the album is called You & I and is out in June!
1. Don't Think Twice - 3:06
2. You Only Love Me - 2:29
3. Praising You (feat. Fatboy Slim) - 2:44
4. Unfeel It - 2:41
5. Waiting for You - 2:43
6. You & I - 3:00
7. That Girl - 3:01
8. Shape of Me - 2:29
9. Look At Me Now - 2:45
10. Girl in the Mirror - 3:11
11. Notting Hill - 2:30
12. I Don't Wanna Be Your Friend - 3:14
Glad that the album is coming soon, but after You Only Love Me’s performance I can’t see this doing well.
Great there’s an album coming soon. I’m guessing they’re hoping Praising You is a sizeable hit to help the album.
I’m here for a new Rita album doesn’t feel like she’s still just set to release album #3 with her back catalogue of hits you’d be inclined to think she’d have around 5 albums under her belt now.
Hopefully the release date remains the same. She may not necessarily still be scoring gigantic hit singles but I think album wise she could challenge for a top 5 peak on a quiet week especially if she does something like signings or releases different formats.
You only love me is great track but a lot of those tracks are barely 3 minutes long.
On first listen it's alright, potentially a grower!
Edited original comment, missed the original thread.
Surely she is gonna launch a new single before the album release?
This was a real struggle to get through. You Only Love Me is the only good song, the rest are forgettable. Can’t see myself ever coming back to this which is a shame as Phoenix is still such a great album.
She really has fallen out of favour with the British public and it’s a shame the material is pretty decent.
Album is now out!
On first listen I actually think it’s quite good as a whole album, there was no duds although the songs are very short (which is kinda the norm now but some of the songs could’ve elevated more with one final moment). I don’t think it sounds quite as high budget and hit stacked as what Phoenix did but there are some good tracks on here what lie with the album tracks.
I’ll have another listen to see what stands out more across the weekend but yeah it’s pretty solid but perhaps slightly on the safe side.
I dont think her being on the voice has helped as she doesn't come across likeable in the slightest
Didn't even know this was out today, and I can't say I'll be giving it a listen...
I love her but it's not going to be a smash is it?
On first listen:
8.0 - Don't Think Twice - It's a decent opener but doesn't really hit the high levels of her previous album leaders.
10.0 - You Only Love Me - By far the best song on the album and her closest attempt to Anywhere, not quite as good but still a decent effort.
06.5 - Praising You - I've tried so hard to warm to this, but it just cringes me out at this point.
06.0 - Unfeel It - A bit plain, this track goes nowhere really.
08.0 - Waiting for You - This slaps a bit, I won't lie. A summery bop. Should have been the song featured on NMF.
07.5 - You & I - I mean, it's nice... it just sounds like a Taylor Swift carbon copy.
09.0 - That Girl - A nice little sample, I quite like this. The best of the album tracks.
05.0 - Shape of Me - Boring.
07.5 - Look At Me Now - A slower effort here, and Rita sounds absolutely gorgeous on this.
06.0 - Girl in the Mirror - Sounds very dated, like an old Charli XCX reject. Wouldn't surprise me if this was meant for Charli.
05.0 - Notting Hill - Zzzzzzzzzzz. Filler filler filler.
06.5 - I Don't Wanna Be Your Friend - Nothing really to say about this either.
Overall, there is a couple of decent album tracks - 'Waiting for You' and 'That Girl', but the second half of the album really falls off the face of the earth.
Half of this album is dreadful. A massive step down from Phoenix.
Yeah I think it's a decent effort, couple of fillers but on the whole there's some nice little songs on it. 'Unfeel It' and 'Shape Of Me' are the two that stood out to me on first listen.
I dread to think where it's gonna land on the chart though - I wouldn't be surprised if it misses the top 20 (or worse!)
I find her very likeable on The Masked Singer, I don't really get what the issue with her is on there! She makes awful guesses but they all do Partygate was definitely what sunk her, which is a shame as the music has remained great.
I love the album, it's not as good as Phoenix but it's strong and consistent, and the bops in particular really land. Unfeel It, Waiting for You and You & I is a great run, and Shape of You and Girl in the Mirror are my other favourites. I met her again today at her album signing in London and she was just as kind as always
Ahh glad to hear how nice she is Joseph! I’m meeting her tomorrow
Were you able to get pictures with her?
The album is very forgettable. Not much leaving an impression which is a real shame.
Can’t see me returning to the album sadly. I liked That Girl, good sample. The singles are all quite good too but I haven’t loved any of them.
I enjoyed the album tbh!
Just met Rita and she was really nice, love my photos with her too!
Number 3 in todays mids, nice if she could stay top 5 as I think itvwill drop like a stone next week.
How is the album on course to be top 3 when there's literally no hit singles from it? Very unexpected!
I am starting to enjoy Don't Think Twice a bit now, and hoping it can somehow manage a minor chart placement perhaps. Wishful thinking I know but could be helped with some promo.

Glad to see they seem to be giving it a push! It's £4.99 on iTunes too, and I imagine she'll get some sort of a boost from Love Island tonight
Underwhelmed by the album.
I gave the album another listen and some of the songs are growing on me, especially Waiting For You and You & I. Hopefully it can hold on to the top 10!
Yeah, it's got 4-OUT written all over it.
Which, to be fair, is the case for many artists that don't have strong streaming to back them up. Comparison for positions #3-5 between week 1 and 2 (thanks Jay for doing this!)
#03

05-52 Måneskin - Rush
05-126 Far From Saints - Far From Saints
05-xxx Lovejoy - Wake Up & It's Over
Out of the top 100 wouldn't really be a shock when Rita hasn't had much streaming support at all this era, and it'll surely be low top 100 at best next week.
She performed on Love Island last night - Praising You, Don't Think Twice and Anywhere. I found her interactions with the cast and jumping in the pool SO awkward though
Back up to 3 in todays mids so least its holding up well for this week at least.
Went to the later of her two shows for Banquet today, she never disappoints live, so much energy and her voice is just as good as it is on the studio tracks The setlist was perfection too! Not sure if the early show was the same but I guess it probably was.
1 Ritual
2 Body on Me
3 You & I
4 I Will Never Let You Down
5 Let You Love Me
6 Your Song
7 For You
8 Don’t Think Twice
9 You Only Love Me
10 Hot Right Now
11 Praising You (with a short piano rendition of the chorus of Praise You at the start)
12 Lonely Together
13 Anywhere
Just listening for the first time now - they chose horrific singles from the album, my interest on hearing the album based on those was zero but there is much better on the album.
I'm a huge fan of 'Unfeel It' because the lyrics resonate with me atm, plus it gives me stripped back 'I Will Never Let You Down' vibes which is never an issue in my book. A 'Single Edit' could really do it justice.
It's gonna do 7-OUT but that's
1) the new normal
and 2) more than anyone expected or predicted
the only way you do 2 weeks in the charts in albums if you have playlist streams to cushion your fall, which no one has except the bit names
and certainly Rita will not have
Enters at #6! Very respectable, especially considering some of the expectations on here
Yeah, I think her and her team will be more than happy with that, regardless of the inevitable huge drop next week!
Rita is doing 'Tracks of my Years' on Radio 2 all next week or you can listen ahead of each clip's broadcast from tomorrow morning on BBC Sounds https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m001ntrx.
"Incredible Pool Party" = most awkward thing I've seen this year so far.
I wonder has the album any chance of a 2nd week top 100.disappointing it missed the top 100 here in Ireland when phoenix made number 19 and her debut number 2.
The album was so so imo but Unfeel It is such a bop, one of my faves from her in ages!
im kinda dissapointed by the album :/ phoenix is one of my fave ever albums, i still play it regularly and adore it, but this one is so... mediocre. the highlights for me are literally dont think twice and praising you i might give it another listen during the week to see if it grows on me but rn its very dissapointing. i used to love rita but her recent output has been sub par
99 in todays mids
I did chuckle when I saw a poster advertisement of this on the tube which said:
"Including the hit singles 'You Only Love Me', 'Praising You (feat. Fatboy Slim)' and the new single 'Don't Think Twice'"
I think her PR team have gone way beyond the point of exaggeration there
I got the deluxe album for my birthday but I’d rather have the CD in a proper jewel case than like a book as they get scratched easily. You & I isn’t as good as Phoenix at all. However, there are some good tracks but overall the songs are lacking them magic or sparkle from the last album. I also don’t like the swearing on unfeel it. Totally unnecessary and spoils a good song.
You & I has a music video now;
A remix of "Shape Of Me" with Keith Urban is out on the 26th. Both are currently judges on The Voice Australia.
Nice new version! Definitely one of the best songs on the album.
