61 PVRIS - What's Wrong? 120
62 The xx - A Violent Noise 120
63 Japandroids - Near To The Wild Heart Of Life 119
64 Bjork - Blissing Me 115
65 Fall Out Boy - Young and Menace 115
66 Tash Sultana - Jungle 115
67 Moon Taxi - Two High 114
68 Fickle Friends - Hello Hello 113
69 Jens Lekman - What's That Perfume That You Wear? 112
70 Rag'n'Bone Man - Skin 111

One of the more well known tracks in the countdown, Rag'n'Bone Man's "Skin" obviously wasn't a buzzjack favourite but proved he had more than one hit single in him. "What's Wrong" is the highest of PVRIS' four entries off their recent Top 5 album, and there's also BJSC finalists from Tash Sultana and Jens Lekman [everyone hear 'life will see you now' pls], brighton's indie pop troopers Fickle Friends with (imo) their best single so far, and a mighty trainwreck of a comeback single from Fall Out Boy (one that maaay be better off forgotten)

Ascension out already drama.gif

Young and Menace is an absolute train wreck tbh, it sounds better on the album but at the same time makes the album less listenable laugh.gif

Nice to see Tash Sultana here though

'Arisen My Senses' is the better song out of the two Björk songs here imo! Everybody go listen to the 'Utopia' album for a gorgeous and intense flute-tastic experience xo

and Japanroids! lol I remember giving that 12 in a BJSC semi and then it of course DNQd... how dare those BJSC voters, how dare they, amirite Seven? xx

idk, I find the beginning of 'Blissing Me' to be really beautiful and promising, yet the more it goes on, the production (combined with the repetitive melody) becomes kinda difficult and unsettling to listen to (I do love the harps). And I'm someone who does enjoy a musical challenge heehee.gif It's still something I like listening to though, especially in the context of the album, it's just not among my favourites.

I mean this is clearly the one we should be embedding kink.gif (the video is disturbing at first but becomes really beautiful cry.gif)

51 Perfume Genius - Slip Away 143
52 Arcade Fire - Creature Comforts 137
53 George Ezra - Don't Matter Now 137
54 London Grammar - Big Picture 135
55 The National - Guilty Party 135
56 London Grammar - Oh Woman Oh Man 131
57 Gorillaz feat. Popcaan - Saturnz Barz 129
58 Imagine Dragons - Whatever It Takes 129
59 Milky Chance - Cocoon 128
60 ionnalee - Samaritan 126

to whom it may concern; buzzjack hipsta fave jonna lee did solo stuff recently, Samaritan was the stomper that kicked it all off and it's at #60. Gorillaz teamed up with Popcaan for Saturnz Barz, one of the various new tracks released ahead of 'Humanz'. The National's highest entry Guilty Party lands at 55, from their first #1 album Sleep Well Beast, served between a London Grammar sandwich! :yum: Perfume Genius heads the batch with the theatrical and fantastique Slip Away wub.gif

41 Lana Del Rey feat. Playboi Carti & A$AP Rocky - Summer Bummer 172
42 Superorganism - Something For Your M.I.N.D. 167
43 Linkin Park feat. Kiiara - Heavy 166
44 Elbow - Magnificent (She Says) 161
45 Confidence Man - Bubblegum 151
46 The Horrors - Something To Remember Me By 151
47 Sufjan Stevens - Mystery of Love 151
48 Daughter - Burn It Down 148
49 Nothing But Thieves - Amsterdam 144
50 Declan McKenna - Brazil 143

Declan McKenna's "Brazil" actually came out in 2014 but saw a re-release before his debut album landed. Fresh off the amazing Carrie & Lowell album, Sufjan Stevens contributed a few tracks for the Call Me By Your Name soundtrack, "Mystery Of Love" recently earning an Oscar nomination - get em Suf! At #43 is Linkin Park's "Heavy", a fairly standard pop rock tune on the surface but gained a much sadder context following Chester Bennington's suicide last year. Just before the Top 40 are some wonderful tracks from Superorganism, Confidence Man, an alternative dance gem from The Horrors and the string-driven comeback single from Elbow~

NO cry.gif Saturnz Barz deserved so much more, still a #1 in my books (or maybe #5 last year was a golden for this genre)

If I knew how much I would've liked Don't Matter Now it probably would've got more points from me unsure.gif

Quite happy to see Imagine Dragons, Milky Chance, Arcade Fire, Linkin Park, Elbow and Declan McKenna so high though (high in comparison anyway)

I have 7-inches of Something For Your MIND and Oh Woman Oh Man, as well as a white 12" EP of Creature Comfort.
Something To Remember Me By is an amazing song.

Also, Arisen My Senses will soon be released on 'slug g********' coloured 12" vinyl this year.

31 Lana Del Rey - Cherry 187
32 Paramore - Told You So 186
33 Tonight Alive - Temple 186
34 UNKLE featuring Mark Lanegan - Looking For The Rain 185
35 Paramore - Rose Colored Boy 182
36 MGMT - Little Dark Age 180
37 The xx - I Dare You 180
38 Lorde - Supercut 179
39 The Killers - Run For Cover 178
40 The xx - Dangerous 176

first of two Killers tracks - 'Run For Cover' is my favourite of them, a pop rock masterclass biggrin.gif (also applies to the Tonight Alive track) MGMT kicked off their surprisingly amazing comeback campaign with 'Little Dark Age', gloomy, synthy, and a sharp turn towards something poppier. Two Paramore songs drop out here, from their delightful new wave endeavour on After Laughter. So does a Lorde track (one of the better ones), though many more of them remain

21 alt-J - 3WW 215
22 Alice Merton - No Roots 209
23 St. Vincent - New York 207
24 Lorde - Liability 206
25 Lorde - Sober  205
26 Imagine Dragons - Believer 202
27 Lorde - Writer In The Dark 195
28 Wolf Alice - Don't Delete The Kisses 193
29 Paramore - Fake Happy 190
30 The Killers - The Man 189

And here's the other offering from The Killers, this time the lead single. Taken from their second album, Wolf Alice's "Don't Delete The Kisses" is a wonderful dreamy number exploring the thrills and fears of falling in love. 3 more Melodrama tracks bow out in this batch, including melancholic ballad Liability. Imagine Dragons returned with 'Believer', still holding their penchant for punchy and anthemic hooks, it became a bigger hit than anything from Smoke + Mirrors. Alice Merton's No ROOTS was a BJSC success for St. Burbia a year ago, and a sleeper hit in the charts by the looks of it. Also bordering on the top 20 are alt-J's "3WW" from their Mercury-nominated Relaxer album, and St. Vincent's "New York"
