Johnson could be a blessing in disguise - after Cameron another posh white Eton grad would properly put the Tory modernisation in the back seat and it would stick with the voters too even if the do like Boris like they like Cameron but it would be bad in the longer term for them reaching out to the middle ground!
I see today marginals were polled and showed Labour leading in over 100 of them! This post has been edited by steve201: 7th August 2014, 11:26 PM |

Ten of the ten polled, not over a hundred!

He has confirmed his target: Uxbridge and South Ruislip (the safe Conservative seat which includes LHR and RAF Northolt)
But in other news this seems like a perfectly reasonable human being to have as a potential PM. I hope people are finally starting to see the true Boris now... |

I hope people are finally starting to see the true Boris now... That's the seat that was being suggested when he made his announcement. Until now he has been advocating closing Heathrow which would mean a lot of his prospective constituents losing their jobs. As for his advocacy of abandoning the presumption of innocence - and describing it as a "minor change" - that should demonstrate very clearly why he shouldn't ever be allowed anywhere near ministerial office. |

With an 11,000 majority I'm sure he'll win this seat if he gets the nomination from the local party in a fortnight.

I'm sure they will all be fawning over him, saliva dripping from Tory mouths at the prospect of a potential election vote winner when Dave gets stabbed in the back - as seems to be the norm for long-serving PM's or election losers. Said it before, but he's another Bush. A man with convictions well ahead of his abilities and understanding of cause and effect.
There are ALWAYS repercussions. Pity most politicians appear to have no inkling of that..... This post has been edited by popchartfreak: 26th August 2014, 09:48 PM |

More time to spend playing tennis with 'Dave' for russian oligarchs and threatening the basic human rights of the general populace. YAY. And the couple hours a week he spends on writing his Telegraph column for the "chicken feed" (his words) of £250,000 per year. |
