BuzzJack Music Forum _ Lady Gaga _ Will Gaga get Spotify support for LG6?

Posted by: HausofTove 17th July 2019, 08:08 PM

As rumours of LG6 continue to creep up, do you think Gaga will receive support from Spotify in terms of good placings for the singles on high profile playlists? Will they actively support her music or snub it? What sort of success will Gaga get on Spotify in her new era do you think?

i think so!!!depending on what style of music possibly tho

I'd like to think with the phenomenal success of A Star Is Born, Gaga is back in favour with streaming? Surely this should mean Spotify should snap up new music from her and support it? If this was a few years ago or following on from the Joanne era (pre-The Cure), i'd have thought she would be majorly snubbed but I am more optimistic now.

I am not too clear with how Spotify/payola works, so maybe others can elaborate unsure.gif

I truly hope so! It's very hard to predict though, they could easily snub her, which would certainly be disappointing after such a triumphant era in A Star Is Born. Keeping my fingers crossed!

I think it depends on the £££ that Gaga and her team / label pay Spotify.

I think she’ll do well on Spotify initially regardless though based off curiosity streams / Stan streams and also hater streams who’ll listen purely just to slag it off.

My gut is telling me Apple will do her better.

With the ASIB did Spotify promote that actively or did it get better playlisting following the music actually taking off in a big way?

Hopefully she does but you never know. Ideally she will nail LG6 as if she gets the material right she could get the support. A Star is born has really got her back on track success wise but for me songs like million reasons deserved the same success as shallow.

I'd be surprised if she didn't off the back of the super successful ASIB tbh

Didn't Shallow get a great push? She was at the cover on several playlist at least here in Finland and the song smashed totally in Sweden and Australia.

It might vary from country to country but generally I'd say yes.

1000000% sure she’ll get an insane push on Spotify!

How did Katy do on Spotify with Never Really Over?

I only use Apple Music but perhaps that may be an indicator.

That's good.

I feel Gaga is in a better position going into a new era than what Katy was too so I could see her debuting top ten and going straight to the iTunes #1 too.

Hopefully Apple will too and Amazon Music.

She become a streaming artist with the ASIB album far better than she did Joanne.

The Cure did fairly well on Spotify too didn't it? It had consistent streaming numbers from what I remember.

For a standalone single related to... well nothing?, it did pretty well.

Gaga is still a huge name who has just had great success with A Star Is Born... I'm sure her new material will be heavily promoted everywhere.

I think it always pretty much between the 25-40 mark on there for a good while. I had Spotify at that time but switched to Apple when it was the ASIB era.

The Cure done better here than both Perfect Illusion and Million Reasons didn’t it.

It was in the top 25 for a while iirc. It peaked at #19 but stuck around.
