Patrick Hernandez survived till about number 32 and had to go, Skids a bit lower. Glad to see most of my other contenders that just missed in the other charts, though.
The Ugly Duckling was a childhood fave of mine by Kenneth Connors (of Carry On films, as Winnie The Pooh on record - I'm still looking for this album replacement), and also Danny Kaye's Disney version so I couldn't take this Cockney geezer version. I went into spasms of loathing when it came on the radio |

Bernard Cribbins did a UK version of the entire Danny Kaye EP (or vice versa) with The Ugly Duckling, King's New Clothes, Inchworm etc. |

You sure it was Kenneth Connor? Bernard Cribbins did a UK version of the entire Danny Kaye EP (or vice versa) with The Ugly Duckling, King's New Clothes, Inchworm etc. Sadly I still remember the cover - it was a budget album release in blue of Winnie The Pooh and Other favourites. You inspired me to google and I was surprised to find it right away. I now have misty-eyes and have come over all nostalgic just looking at the cover and track listing jogging so many memories! http://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/aly...ens_favourites/ cheers! |

The tracklisting sounds very familiar. I'm sure I had one with Tubby the Tuba on it too.
I always found the fact that "Christopher Robin went down with Alice" weird - that two characters from different stories both went to visit the Queen at the same time. |

In these cynical days one wonders whether Chris going down with Alice and visiting queens might be taken another way entirely! It can only be a matter of time before Bruce Wayne is yewtreed as a serial offender of young boys, what with forcing them into tight underpants and going around seedy areas at night while being their "ward" |

I'm so surprised at the lack of love for Wall Street Shuffle, a brilliant clever and bitter attack on the rich bankers and investors with amazing riffs...!
