Amelle Slams Cheryl Fernadnez-Versini’s Validity As An X Factor Judge!!!!!!
https://uk.celebrity.yahoo.com/gossip/omg/a...-133156020.html Amelle Berrabah (you know, the one from the third Sugababes line-up) has seemingly hit out at Cheryl Fernandez-Versini. Taking to Twitter, the 30-year-old responded to a tweet by Simon Cowell where she seemed to pass judgment on the 31-year-old’s singing ability. Perhaps as a mistake, Simon simply tweeted ‘We Are,’ leaving Amelle the perfect opportunity to stick the knife in. She wrote: “@SimonCowell: We are” ... Still hiring peeps who can't sing to judge others singing... #NicoleWasGreat&CouldSingButSheGoneNow #❤MellB" Not exactly subtle, is she? Amelle and Cheryl previously worked together as part of their bands Girls Aloud and Sugababes on Comic Relief 2007 charity single Walk This Way. amazeeeeng |

I did a status on Facebook the other day about Cheryl, just how once again she's billed as the Nation's Princess, I don't get the appeal at all!!! It drives me insane, she's a nice girl that's about it, she can also dance.

It's fair enough though I guess, there wasn't any other real girl bands out at the time each of these were so no one to compare them too. It's worse when GA are compared to the Spice Girls, that riles me most. |

GA are big to be fair though, didn't they overtake Sugababes sales in the end due to Out of Control? Kills me but you've gotta take the tours into consideration too, GA did well with them. |

Sugababes didn't sell 14m in the UK! Nowhere near. I'd estimate that they sold around 8.4m records here, with their singles/albums combined. Girls Aloud sold a bit more than that, approaching 8.6m.
Sugababes sold more albums than Girls Aloud (maybe around 200k more), but Girls Aloud sold more singles (about 400k+ more). Essentially they're quite even, although Sugababes did release more albums and singles than GA. Spice Girls sold 13m in the UK (roughly 8m singles and 5m albums). |

As much as I have a distaste for Cheryl these days, I think this was really quite stupid of Amelle.
Not only did it seem like a desperate ploy for a bit of attention, she technically released a single in collaboration with her once upon a time. If that's really how she feels, why did she go ahead with that? It seems a bit backstabbing. *edit - to sum up what I mean with the above point, it's like she was nice to her face when she had to be for that single and now Cheryl is successful and Amelle is nothing, she resorts to this bitterness. Either way, it makes her look two faced and twatty. This post has been edited by mr_aly: 13th November 2014, 08:13 PM |

That's so good for literally 3 albums and a handful of singles Indeed, so great! The majority of those sales were achieved in just 2 and a half years too! Most of the album sales come from 'Spice' and 'Spiceworld' of course, while 'Forever' and 'Greatest Hits' combined contributes somewhere between 700k and 750k to their 5m+ total. 8 of the 11 singles were platinum selling hits. It's just a pity they were relatively short lived. Such a small catalogue of music. Sugababes and Girls Aloud both did very well to be fair. They both had great longevity and impressive sales considering the slump in singles sales during the height of their popularity. Girls Aloud were a more prolific touring act but Sugababes achieved more success out of the UK. I think both were fantastic girl groups for the 2000s. I was more of a "loon" for Girls Aloud but I was a really big fan of the Sugababes too. I never really understood or appreciated the rivalry between the two sets of fans! ~ To be more on topic, I agree that that tweet didn't do Amelle any favours. It ultimately looks like attention seeking and makes her seem bitter, which is not a positive thing for her to portray in the industry she's in. Honestly I think Amelle had the potential to be the Sugababes' answer to Cheryl, at one point. Back in 2009 Amelle's popularity was increasingly massively and it seemed she could have easily stepped away from the group and had a very successful solo career. Then September 2009 happened... |
