The cars that appear out of nowhere aside, it's just a bit short and lacking any exciting jumps. It is far too easy to make an awful cock-up though, true.
I don't mind the majority of the courses either, most of those that I've put on there are either because they're too easy/dull as courses or they have an element that'll get me knocked out of contention pretty easily. |

Having just looked into this, I didn't realise it was exclusive to Wii U. I'm not buying one of those just for Mario Kart. Are there actually ANY other games worth playing on it? :/

My favourite race track from Mario Kart is Wario's Stadium from the Gamecube DD! (I think that's what it was called).

Just thought I'd let you guys know who want the game but may not have pre-ordered it yet (and already have the console), GAME has it for pre-order for £39.99 (same as Amazon) but you get an exclusive new edition Wii Wheel (worth £10) for free as well as a free GAMEWare accessory (worth up to £5). One of their Mario Kart 8 pre-order bundles have already sold out so I'm not sure how long it will remain available but it's a great deal if you want the game!
When you order Mario Kart 8 too by the way, you apparently get a code allowing you to download a Wii U game for free from the online shop which is fantastic! |

Yeah, they've been doing that for a while with WiiU games, so you basically buy one get one free. It's probably the only way they can convince people to buy the bloody thing!

This looks fun, but I don't have a Wii U. Too bad they don't make it for the 3DS since I have one of those.

It sounds like it's too punishing for the winner again and that the tracks are 'samey'. I was hoping they'd improve on those aspects from the alst game (which was still brilliant, made my 2010 summer along with FFXIII and friends haha)

Too punishing? I do think the DEMON BLUE SHELL is awful, if that's what you mean, but then half the fun is being f***ed over inches from the finish line.
And I think they do a great job of coming up with new and inventive track ideas with each new iteration of the game. |

I'm kinda turning off Mario Kart.
The new racers don't excite me at all, it just seems like more of the same. I had been thinking about getting the Wii U bundle with it (you get another free game if you register Mario Kart 8 online) but I'm not so sure anymore. I'll probably just wait for Smash Bros.
