Welcome to Round 30 of least fave Disney animated classic and we are now down to the final 3 movies, making this the semi final. Finishing in 4th place is "The Little Mermaid", which received 11 votes. Released in 1989 and was the 28th Disney Animated Feature, and was the one that kickstarted the Renaissance era, and brought Disney back into the forefront, after several years of hits and misses. Based upon the Hans Christian Anderson novel of the same name, this drastically changes the ending to a more happy one, than the tragic events of the book, as well as leaving out the darker elements. The movie became a critical and commercial success, with a 92% on Rotten Tomatoes, and a lifetime gross of $211.3 Million at the box office, and this would continue throughout the next 10 years, as throughout the 90's, there was a new Disney movie released, practically every year and would become an instant classic.
As for the others, the votes were quite split, with "Beauty and the Beast" gaining 6 votes, "The Lion King" had 5 and finally "Aladdin" had 4 votes. So this should make the next round very interesting. 04th The Little Mermaid = 12 Votes A well and truly beautiful and magical movie, and can remember as a kid being obsessed with this, I really, really wanted to see this at the cinema, but was never allowed for some reason, my cousin got to go and I was so jealous. I even picked up a video of the original Hans Christian Anderson animated version, which I hated at the time, because of the sad ending, and what child should go through that. But when this finally came out on video, I had it and watched it something like 6 times in a row, and just fell in love with it. I can see why this is so loved and made Disney animation popular again. Watching it again as an adult, has made me love it just as much as before. Firstly coming off the back of a decade full of not so good features, and everything with this improves on that, the animation is more smooth and the colours are just vibrant, which well and truly makes it feel like the early classics from the Walt Disney era. The characters are a joy to watch, Ariel is very well rounded and real, sure she makes mistakes and can be a spoiled brat, but nobody's perfect and that just makes her all the more loveable. Prince Eric, well we finally have a Prince, that has character and charm. Then there's the supporting characters such as Flounder the fish, whose just a joy and the ever wonderful Sebastian the crab, then finally there's the villain Ursula the sea witch, whose just perfect and brilliant, she's just hilarious and really makes this movie work. So in all everything about this works, it's a timeless classic for generations and generations to enjoy. Right then we are now at the semi final stage, just 3 wonderful movies left, same rules apply just vote for your least fave by the next round which will be on February 11th Results So Far 04th - The Little Mermaid = 11 Votes/42.31% 05th - Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs = 13 Votes/39.39% 06th - 101 Dalmatians = 10 Votes/37.04% 07th - The Jungle Book = 8 Votes/32.00% 08th - Alice In Wonderland = 9 Votes/34.62% 09th - Sleeping Beauty = 11 Votes/42.31% 10th - Pinocchio = 10 Votes/31.25% 11th - Lady and the Tramp = 5 Votes/17.86% 12th - Bambi = 6 Votes/21.43% 13th - Mulan = 13 Votes/40.62% 14th - The Hunchback Of Notre Dame = 13 Votes/41.94% 15th - Frozen = 9 Votes/33.33% 16th - Peter Pan = 7 Votes/29.17% 17th - Tangled = 7 Votes/25.93% 18th - Robin Hood = 11 Votes/36.67% 19th - Dumbo = 8 Votes/27.59% 20th - Cinderella = 5 Votes/22.73% 21st – Wreck It Ralph = 5 Votes/21.74% 22nd– Hercules = 9 Votes/39.13% 23rd - The Fox and the Hound = 5 Votes/22.73% 24th - Lilo & Stitch = 7 Votes/29.17% 25th - Pocahontas = 10 Votes/37.04% 26th - Tarzan = 8 Votes/28.57% 27th - Big Hero 6 = 4 Votes/15.38% 28th - The Princess and the Frog = 6 Votes/23.08% 29th - The Aristocats = 6 Votes/10.00% 30th - The Emperor's New Groove = 10 Votes/16.67% 31st - Bolt = 8 Votes/12.31% 32nd -The Sword In The Stone = 9 Votes/13.85% 33rd - Fantasia = 10 Votes/15.38% 34th - Winnie The Pooh (2011) = 6 Votes/11.76% 35th - Atlantis; The Lost Empire = 7 Votes/13.73% 36th - Brother Bear = 11 Votes/21.57% =37th Treasure Planet = 8 Votes/8.70% =37th Basil The Great Mouse Detective = 8 Votes/8.70% 39th - The Rescuers = 9 Votes/9.78% 40th - The Black Cauldron = 10 Votes/10.87% =41st The Rescuers Down Under = 8 Votes/7.21% =41st Oliver & Company = 8 Votes/7.21% 43rd - The Many Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh = 9 Votes/8.11% 44th - Meet The Robinsons = 17 Votes/15.32% =45th Fantasia 2000 = 8 Votes/8.60% =45th Chicken Little = 8 Votes/8.60% 47th - Home On The Range = 9 Votes/9.68% 48th - The Adventures Of Ichabod Mr Toad = 10 Votes/10.75% 49th - The Three Cabarellos = 14 Votes/15.05% 50th - Dinosaur = 8 Votes/6.96% =51st Fun & Fancy Free = 10 Votes/8.70% =51st Make Mine Music = 10 Votes/8.70% =51st Saludos Amigos = 10 Votes/8.70% 54th - Melody Time = 11 Votes/9.57% |

I love it in every way, but compared to the other two, it's Beauty and the Beast quite easily for me.
Really hoping Aladdin can snag this win though. |

My all time top 3 are: 1 the Little Mermaid 2 Aladdin 3 Lion King So I'll now have to settle with 2 and 3 moving up a space each. |

Really wanted a Beauty and the Beast/Aladdin final showdown.
Beauty... is incredible and quite possibly my absolute favourite (though some of my others are long eliminated) but now that it's finishing in 3rd, I want an Aladdin win. It's brilliant and I'd go back to that one a hundred times before I go back to The Lion King. Not that Lion King is bad, it's just...overrated. It does have moments of absolute brilliance though and deserves to finish high. |

I really don't know what to go for.
Also, Dan Gerson, screenwriter of Monsters Inc., Monsters University and Big Hero 6 has died of brain cancer aged 49 on Saturday |

Aladdin for me by a whisker. Not forgiving a lot of people in here for not appreciating the brilliance of Beauty & The Beast.
