That fast

Posted by: Spiceboy 8th March 2019, 03:22 PM

Great can't wait to hear the new song!

Posted by: sammy01 8th March 2019, 04:09 PM

I don't mind getting songs out there before the album just surprised they went with the other original.

Though I guess might help streaming if the 2 originals have some traction and then the duets get some curiosity plays.

Second single? Hm...

Posted by: Maz! 8th March 2019, 06:14 PM

It might not be a single but an Free track that comes with the pre-order

Posted by: Spiceboy 9th March 2019, 10:54 AM

Anyone heard the song yet?

Posted by: Maz! 9th March 2019, 12:44 PM

It’s beautiful!

Posted by: sammy01 9th March 2019, 12:50 PM

I wasn't keen, I didn't like the production at all. Baby please Don't stop is much better.

Posted by: Jay ☆ 9th March 2019, 01:25 PM

I really like it wub.gif It really sounds like a continuation of the Free Me album!

Makes me wish that these were proceeding an album consisting of mainly originals cry.gif

Posted by: Spiceboy 9th March 2019, 01:34 PM

I like the sound of it, the music is divine. Anyone got any lyrics for it yet? I can't work out what she is singing.

Posted by: Jay ☆ 9th March 2019, 02:19 PM

Here we go:

Verse 1
Love is a serious game
I don't know the rules you were playing
I gave you the keys to my heart
You tore it apart
And I never thought we'd end this
But you know that I can't stay

Chorus
Cos there's too many teardrops I've cried
I could have filled me an ocean
Now I'm leaving this heartache behind
I might be bruised but I won't be broken
Cos too many teardrops I've cried over you, over you

Verse 2
I'm not afraid of the fire
But I saw the flames getting higher
I know we started with sparks
But you pushed me too far
But I got my eyes wide open
And I have to walk away

Repeat Chorus

Bridge
I loved you baby
Nothing can take that away
I've tried to tell you
I'm not a game you can play
Before I lose my mind
It's time to say goodbye

Repeat Chorus

Over you, you
Over you, you

~~~
It took me quite a few listens to understand the second line of the chorus lol, I think it's that?
Posted by: sammy01 9th March 2019, 02:24 PM
I like it more on 2nd listen on spotify, the production sounds better. Still prefer Baby please don't stop.
Posted by: Blond 2.0 9th March 2019, 03:26 PM
I like it a lot so beautiful and the production is amazing heart-old.gif
Thanks wub.gif I love the music and it keeps growing on me a bit more each time I listen.
It is indeed upsetting that she put together these two wonderful original tracks and is now filling up the rest of the record with covers.
Sounds right to me, and I really like that lyric. Emma did good so far, both songs are stunning. A good return to form! cheer.gif
3,359 streams on Spotify so far. Should be 3,359,000 xx cry.gif
Posted by: Jay ☆ 10th March 2019, 06:59 PM
Really loving this wub.gif I wonder if she'll make it a proper single eventually, or if this album will just be a 1 single project? cry.gif
Posted by: Maz! 10th March 2019, 07:08 PM
I think it will be 1 single only
Posted by: sammy01 10th March 2019, 07:17 PM
I'm dreading the inevitable dodgy cheap 2 become 1 video with Robbie that gets released during the tour.
God I really hope not wacko.gif If it is good, then fine to be an album track, but if it gets a single treatment, that will be so cringe...
Loving 'Too Many Teardrops'. Emma's voice really is stronger than ever.
I love the slightly haunting vocal and the 'wall of sound' production style. The echoey distortions are lush.
It wouldn't surprise me, but I kind of assume they'll go with the Will Young track if there's another single (with a dodgy cheap video of course).
Realistically, he's still a name but also available to do a promo slot or two.
Posted by: dachiki 11th March 2019, 06:18 PM
The song is now available on her store for those who pre ordered the album or cassette
Posted by: Mr.X 12th March 2019, 07:14 PM
So I think the song is only an instant grat hey? They will totally release another one before the album is out. Hopefully with a video too.
The song has barely made any impact - on Spotify it has less than 10,000 listens so far and lets not even look at the iTunes situation because there has been none.
It's a wonderful song though and she should be very proud of it.
On ‘Too Many Teardrops’, Emma adds, “We've all been through things in life that make us stronger. I think I always bring that timeless, 60s feel into any music that I do. I was brought up on a lot of Motown, so I think it's just a natural sound that I bring and with the lyrics as well.”
Cute, thanks Jay
I do wonder if they could have playlisted this song at all, anywhere lol
Posted by: tommie 13th March 2019, 02:14 PM
I do note that her PR company states "second song released" and not single; it does seem like an instant grat.
I'd hope Radio 2 will playlist Baby Please Don't Stop considering how much promo she's doing on there - premiering the first single, this song and soon do a live duet with Jade.
Posted by: sammy01 13th March 2019, 03:03 PM
I think the record company might have asked radio 2 to playlist closer to the album release. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks Baby please don't stop will be playlisted, it is getting some spins from them already I think they are just waiting for the right time to add to the playlist.
Probably - I mean, BPDS was last played today, so hopefully it'll get playlisted this week or next.
