HEAT 09



Hola and welcome to Heat NINE of this event. We've got 2/3 qualifiers ready for the Semifinals and it's time to determine the remaining 28. As per usual, 7 qualifiers will advance from this heat. A mostly random draw decided that these four countries will participate in this stage of the selection process.

Having participated in the contest 19 times in the last 20 years Croatia has been an unstoppable force in the competition in the late 90's and early 00's. Well, at least they WERE an unstoppable force. Sadly they did not trouble the waters of the Final since 2009 and their last Top 15 was in 2006 with fabulous Severina. Despite being very consistent with their success early in the game Croatia peaked only at #4 twice, in 1996 and three years later with QoL Doris Dragović. I swear if she doesn't qualify, I will just drop this game and go all Ryan in unknown pleasures he hosted on chc or whatever that site before Buzzjack was called~

Next we've got Netherlands, the ultimate DNQ flop. Before Anouk came along to save the country from 9th consecutive DNQ, Netherlands were as floppy as The Saturdays are these days. But despite that, I still think of that terrible run as mostly bad luck. Sieneke, Hind and Joan were so fabulous and deserved those Final spots. Justice for Hind! Although it's a bit dumb to think anything other than Anouk or Common Linnets is going through. How very 90s racist of y'all. I guess there's gonna be tough competition for that award this year!



Bulgaria. Let's not pretend Sofi isn't like the best person in this entire bitch of a heat. There's literally no competition. She slays the life out of your Anouks and Doris' and Sirushos. The other song that must get through is Bulgaria's sole qualifier to the Final, 'Water' by Elitsa and Stoyan. What an incredible entry that was too. Sadly, in 2013 they failed to defend their crown and missed the final. But, hey, 2 max trax of LIFE out of 9 entries is absolutely amazing either way. Looking at you and your 0 out of 14, Lithuania.

And, finally, we have Armenia. If only there was one more place in the Semifinals for this and Jan Jan could also advance. But of course Qélé, Qélé will be the runaway winner in this one. Not that I object to that because it's fabulous but still Inga & Anush would've been a slightly better choice. Oh well, hens, be smart with this decision.

You may vote in ANY or ALL of these four sub-heats. You do that by forming your 10 favourite songs from each country. You must use the traditional Eurovision voting system (12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 point). If a country had less than 10 participations between 1995 and 2014 then you must rank ALL of their entries but still use the same voting system described earlier. For example, if a country has only 7 entries then your votes will be 12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5 and 4 points.
