Another standard but solid tune. #27. The Girls Rate score: 6.97/10 Highest rate score: 10/10 (Jade, HarryEzra, SamJudd) Lowest rate score: 2/10 (cqmerqn, Bjork) 2014 rate position: 13th of 21 Year of release: 2007 Album: I Created Disco UK Chart position: #3 YouTube views: 8.5m Spotify streams: 7.3m Way back to his second ever single now, this one followed 'Acceptable' into the top 10 instantly and then became his first top 3 hit. This came back in his electro pop era which sounds vastly different to what he would go on to release. A bit novelty, but still a bop. |

Not one of my personal faves of his but I gave it a 7/10 which is near enough to its actual rate average so this is an appropriate position for it. #25. Flashback (feat. Ayah Marar) Rate score: 7.05/10 Highest rate score: 11/10 (Juan Carlos) Lowest rate score: 1/10 (cqmerqn) 2014 rate position: 8th of 21 Year of release: 2009 Album: Ready For The Weekend UK Chart position: #18 YouTube views: 19.5m Spotify streams: 23.4m This song can now really be called a 'Flashback' as it now approaches its ninth birthday. It seems to be held in high regard by a few but mostly got scores of 6 and 7. I gave it a 6 as it's one of his singles I am least familiar with and it doesn't hold much replay value in my view. |

Released as the final single from '18 Months' it broke him the record for most top 10 hits from a single studio album until Ed Sheeran came along which was very impressive. Another great tune from him too. #23. Eat Sleep Rave Repeat (Calvin Harris Remix) (Fatboy Slim & Riva Starr feat. The song was a bit of a meme too which limited its shelf life but does surprisingly well for itself in this rate. |

1 Under Control We Found Love Sweet Nothing How Deep Is Your Love 5 Slide Ellie Goulding actually sounds decent with Calvin on production, but I Need Your Love is dated and much inferior to Outside |

"Flashback" is still my favourite song from him. It never gets old for me to be honest. I wish it would have done better, but I guess it was great to see in the middle of this ratedown.
 As a side note, he needs to collaborate again with Ayah Marar. The songs he has done with her ("Let Me Know", "Flashback" and "Thinking About You") are really good. |

Oh yeah that's just what I would put in my Top 5
 Pray To God is nice but it's not something I go back to (at all) compared to his other stuff. I actually skipped over Spectrum when I did a top 5 then though, would be about equal to Sweet Nothing for me (Florence Welch is just amazing isn't she?)

It got a lot of love including from myself, but SevenSeize had to ruin it with a -1, though it wouldn't have made the top 10 anyway. |

It was released as the 4th single from 'Talk That Talk' and became the second top 10 hit of that era, with both of those having the Calvin touch. It's another great addition to his production discography and one of my favourite Rihanna songs also. Could 'We Found Love' surprise and also miss the top 10 in this rundown then? |

It's a fun listen, but hasn't aged as well as a whole lot of other Calvin tracks due to its novelty nature (similar to 'The Girls'). #15. Dance Wiv Me (with Dizzee Rascal & Chrom3) Rate score: 7.69/10 Highest rate score: 10/10 (Midge, SevenSeize, Jade, PeteFromLeeds) Lowest rate score: 0/10 (cqmerqn) 2014 rate position: 10th of 21 Year of release: 2008 Album: Tongue 'n' Cheek / Ready For The Weekend UK Chart position: #1 YouTube views: 5.8m Spotify streams: 26.6m Getting Calvin his first #1 as a producer and featured artist was Dizzee's massive single 'Dance Wiv Me', which saw Dizzee embrace commercial dance rap pop and do a great job of it. '18 Months' is my favourite era of his and just like nearly the rest of the album this is a standout track. It improves from its surprisingly low 17th finish from last time this was run. #13. Under Control (with Alesso feat. Hurts) Rate score: 7.83/10 Highest rate score: 11/10 (Dexton) Lowest rate score: 4/10 (dandy*) 2014 rate position: 12th of 21 Year of release: 2013 Album: Motion / Forever UK Chart position: #1 YouTube views: 200.7m Spotify streams: 222.3m Released as the lead single from 'Motion', 'Under Control' made its way to the top of the chart but thanks to perfect timing of the release more than anything. Nonetheless it's another great banger from Calvin, also helped by Alesso's trademark progressive house style, way before he sold out to tropical pop. It also gave Hurts an unexpected hit 3 years after their only other top 40 chart hit 'Wonderful Life'. |
