Gerry Cinnamon
Sun Queen

2nd single from second studio album
Released: 11th October 2019
Label: Little Runaway Records

Video

Biography

Hailing from Castlemilk, Glasgow, Gerry Cinnamon is a Scottish acoustic blues singer and songwriter. Inspired by the work of bands such as the Beatles, the Brian Jonestown Massacre, and the Jesus & Mary Chain, Cinnamon began penning his own songs that took on an introspective theme within the lyrics, while delivering anthemic singalong choruses akin to the work of Frank Turner and the Tallest Man on Earth. Initially known on the gig circuit for hosting a weekly open-mike night at a Glaswegian bar, he quickly began to make waves on the live scene in 2014 with his own material. After having generated a burgeoning fan base for some time, he became popular across the city and the surrounding areas for his highly atmospheric shows. He became widely known for his songs "Hope Over Fear" (which struck a chord with the "Yes" campaign during the 2014 Scottish Independence Referendum) and "Kampfire Vampire" (a social critique that delved into the experience of growing up in Glasgow). Social commentary became a frequent aspect of Cinnamon's lyrics, resonating with many across the country. Both "Hope Over Fear" and "Kampfire Vampire" earned him high placement on the 2015 digital music charts. He went on to perform at the T in the Park Festival in both 2015 and 2016, and opened for Ocean Colour Scene and John Power of Cast. In 2016 he won Best Live Act at the Scottish Alternative Music Awards, and kept busy writing and recording the material for his debut full-length. Erratic Cinematic was funded online via a direct-to-fan campaign and saw release in late 2017. - iTunes

Biography

Karla Camila Cabello Estrabao (/kəˈmiːlə kəˈbeɪoʊ/; Spanish: [kaˈmila kaˈβeʎo]; born March 3, 1997) is a Cuban-American singer and songwriter. She rose to prominence as a member of the girl group Fifth Harmony, formed on The X Factor (U.S.) in 2012, signing a joint record deal with Syco Music and Epic Records.

While a part of Fifth Harmony, Cabello began to establish herself as a solo artist with the release of the collaborations "I Know What You Did Last Summer" with Shawn Mendes, and "Bad Things" with Machine Gun Kelly, the latter reaching number four on the Billboard Hot 100 U.S chart. After leaving the group in December 2016, Cabello released several other collaborations, including "Hey Ma" with Pitbull and J Balvin for The Fate of the Furious soundtrack.

Her debut solo single "Crying in the Club" was released in May 2017, and peaked at number 47 in the U.S. Refocusing her sound to Latin-influenced music thereafter, her debut studio album Camila (2018) debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart, with its lead single "Havana" topping the charts in several countries, including the UK and the U.S. The second single "Never Be the Same" also reached the top 10 in several countries.

Biography

Samuel Frederick Smith (born 19 May 1992) is an English singer and songwriter who rose to fame in October 2012 after being featured on Disclosure's breakthrough single "Latch", which peaked at number eleven on the UK Singles Chart. Their subsequent feature—on Naughty Boy's "La La La"— became a number one single in May 2013. In December 2013, Smith was nominated for the 2014 Brit Critics' Choice Award and the BBC's Sound of 2014 poll, winning both.

Smith's debut studio album, In the Lonely Hour, was released in May 2014 on Capitol Records UK. The album's lead single, "Lay Me Down", was released prior to "La La La". The album's second single, "Money on My Mind", became Smith's second number one single in the UK. The album's third single, "Stay with Me", was an international success, reaching number one in the UK and number two on the US Billboard Hot 100, while the fourth single "I'm Not the Only One" reached the top five in both countries. The fifth single, "Like I Can", reached number nine in the United Kingdom. They made their United States debut on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, followed by a performance on Saturday Night Live in March 2014.

In December 2014, Smith was nominated for six Grammy Awards, and at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards in February 2015 they won four: Best New Artist, "Stay with Me" for Record of the Year and Song of the Year, and In the Lonely Hour for Best Pop Vocal Album. At the 2015 Brit Awards, they won the awards for British Breakthrough Act and Global Success. At the 2015 Billboard Music Awards, Smith received three Billboard Awards: Top Male Artist, Top New Artist, and Top Radio Songs Artist. Their musical achievements have also led them to be mentioned twice in the Guinness World Records.

For their and Jimmy Napes' song "Writing's on the Wall", the theme for the James Bond film Spectre (2015), Smith won the Golden Globe Award and the Academy Award for Best Original Song. Their second studio album, The Thrill of It All, was released in November 2017, and debuted atop the UK Albums Chart and the US Billboard 200. The lead single, "Too Good at Goodbyes", reached number one in the UK and Australia and number four in the US.

Biography

There aren’t many young rap pretenders who could write a track one week, shoot its video the next, then watch it fire to nearly half a million plays and counting seven days after that. Then again, most young MCs aren’t Young T and Bugsey, the Nottingham duo whose fierce, eclectic hip-hop has turned them into ones-to-watch, championed by Stormzy, Tim Westwood and many more.

Young T and Bugsey met aged 15, having been aware of each other’s DIY recordings on separate sides of the city.

“Our sound is the both of our cultures and backgrounds without any kinda boundaries or restrictions”, say the pair, who collide murky, bass-heavy beats with sounds from their childhoods: ad libs borrowed from their respective Nigerian and Jamaican parents’ record collections, grime flows inspired by school days rapping over instrumentals nabbed from YouTube, and hooks paying homage to lazy sofa sessions in front of MTV Base. “50 Cent, Snoop, Pharrell – that era was it for us,” laughs Young T. “Hot summer days, you’d still be inside watching MTV Base, the whole day.”

Since teaming up years ago, the pair have gone on to release a catalogue of breakout singles including 'Gangland' feat Belly Squad, underground smash hit ‘4x4’, 'Ay Caramba' alongside West London rapper Fredo, 'Enroute' and 'Strike A Pose' featuring Aitch. All tracks which have further helped establish the Nottingham duo as one of the UK's most promising talents.
