the next contest will probably be around November/December as we don't want to bombard the site with another monthly song contest if anyone has any ideas for the next one and would be interested in hosting, PM me, Tim and Liam with your ideas and we'll get something set up nearer the time

Oh my initial thought was right after all yay. x Well that's a really good winner anyway so WD Cameron <3 (Liked all of those top 3, 'Soldier' was 11th in my ranking ~) I'm hoping the theme for the next one of these is a little bit more accessible so I have a chance of finding a song I actually like... Power ballads is hardly asking you to find Mongolian death metal |

Not quite the highest male vocals song darn, but I'll gladly take 11th, especially as I thought I'd flop entirely, thanks again everyone for voting, very glad that one of my favourite songs of recent years caught on so much! Simone was a big highlight, so a deserved winner, and Avril's song was good as well (if a tad cheap in both cases ;o) so very glad with that top 2. Shame that none of the Foreign Language songs made it to the top 10 though.
As I said before, I actually made some good discoveries here when I didn't think I would and was very smoothly ran. Hats off to the Pop mods |

Lol is Cameron coming to win his own CDs :') love it :') *.* f*** Lotti and TheSnake need to have a talk Didn't enter this due to having no pop potentials in mind but a great top 3 and yay for Ke$ha and 1R coming top 10. Poor UV shame LIGHTS, Sanna and Diana missed it. I thought Cameron was the one who sent Samantha after knowing his looning for her on plug but I correctly predicted Lindsey to send LIGHTS (my second guess would've been Iz) and also Silas with Tone Damil (me and LarsM teas) and UV with Meghan Trainor. No prize for guessing Lee sent Pixie Lott tho I'mma need to keep my |

Iz sending the most un-power power ballad ever recorded. I'd argue it has a lot of subtle power behind the chorus line, that's quite common among Asian ballads. The key for a power ballad to me is how emotional the music is taken at a measured pace, rather than a strict adherence to a low tempo. So to review: Iz sent a Japanese song Congratulations everyone on being so unpredictable and original. It is the first one to be fair - although don't count on me not going for Japan again - I knew everyone would go for Western songs so I wanted to do a bit of variety (and when I decided to enter late on to help with numbers it turned out I had approximately zero Western ballads I wanted to enter), although it turned out that nearly all of the Japanese ballads I had in reserve had rather well-tempoed verses so after a load of rummaging through my list I sent the slowest one to Cameron and asked him if it was okay. Congratulations to Cameron, and good to see Jessica Mauboy so high, I ended up really enjoying that song, even though it was quite fast for a ballad, I guess I'm just not much of a slow song person |

This was fun! Thanks for hosting.
Despite giving it my 12, because it is FLAWLESS, i'm glad Jess didn't win because it's a mid tempo! That song is miles too fast to be a ballad! (same with Phoenix and probably Soldier too) Hopefully Tone was a discovery for Dobbo, who has revealed himself to have pretty good taste by entering Sandén. Quite a Scandipop fan it appears, I whole heartedly approve, we should talk. Tone will always be a winner in my eyes |

So Riser is the other Kari fan on this site *.* Yup! I've only known her for a couple months but listened to a whole bunch of her songs and this one's my fave. One of us should send her to BJSC now...better yet she needs to make a new album because 'Black' is fantastic.(For the record my back-up was 'Finally' by Fergie.) Well it doesn't seem like I'm totally flopping, thanks to those kind enough to throw points my way <3 (yay Jordan for that 12!). The few of us brave enough to sens male artists to this deserve honorary wins tbh ;o You're very welcome! Wonderful song, I unknowingly walked past Carolina Liar once when they were here to perform at my uni. And yeah, top points out of so many strong ballads--this was a very high-quality contest so I'll be looking forward to the next one!

CDs arrived today for anyone curious of what they were *.* Thank you Cami Halsey Enjoy those now! I also rather like how the Foxes CD (I do remember enjoying some of her songs previously so may need to give this album a spin too sometime) is strategically placed to hide your address haha (understandably) |
