Weird to think that 'Good As Hell' was a Lotunia BJFest entry years ago and only now it's become a UK top 10 hit, quite the coincidence that's happened as you are hosting!

Thanks to our hosts NocheLuna for doing a splendid job! We also approved of the quality of this final. Our own song 'Epiphany' has been receiving a lot of hype lately but can it live up to the top 10 predictions? We sure hope so. Anyway, here is what we were into...

Terra Avium kick off our votes in style. We knew of ANOHNI's 'Drone Bomb Me' but nothing else, so we're pleased that this is another good song to feature her. Next, Jupiterdonia sneak in with a song we actually discovered ourselves a few months ago. We thought it was nice enough and considered it for Unknown Pleasures, however we found that it lacked a little something so never went as far as sending it. Pleasingly, this second wind has allowed us to appreciate it more than ever! 'Lemonade' was not quite in our semi points but grew enough for final points. Strong spooky vibes there. Speaking of which, we have a super spooky double next with Dobago and Cor Lupus! We were a little taken aback by the title of Dobago's song (named after tank girl?!) but that aside, the song itself is an enjoyable banging standout. Cor Lupus' is not quite as bold but still very pleasing to the ears, we love i_o's electronic style that even Grimes is on board with. We think this would've done just fine even without an AQ, but who are we to talk when we used ours last month on Active Child! Espen round off this section with a disco legend who is still making music all these years later - we can confirm that he's still got it!

Next it's Unovia who I'm sure will pick up points from pretty much everyone! If this isn't a landslide winner then... well... I'd be truly surprised! A storming dance song right there. Ojnoj smash it out of the park with a really instant male vocal synthtastic song, which doesn't feel a million miles off Leon Else's music. We're pleased that Benji from Pitch Perfect went on to carve such a solid sound for himself. Taahino send their best entry in absolutely ages! This is a rock song with a stupidly catchy chorus that is delivered with bundles of personality. FLJ provide us with yet another Digitalism triumph, following in the footsteps of previous entries by Persephonia and Beaverdonia. We must confess that we gave Cowtermont a 12 in the semi, so 10 here feels a bit low, but this is just because we stanned the opposite semi to the high heavens, no hard feelings! '9 Times' was a spot on entry for Halloween - so LOUD and creepy!

Just missing out on medals are these two but you guys did so well nevertheless! Séyetana receive their first double-figure points from us this year, as that instrumentation is irresistibly gorgeous. We love the interwoven spookiness too and the dark cartoon artwork - all on point for October. Summericia smash it again after getting double-figure points from us last month too! This grew on us more and more. Another one with seriously stunning instrumentation - we're a sucker for strings as ever. Synths last month? Strings this month? Summericia sure know how to invite Jadakissnia back in!

The nation getting our bronze are no strangers to success! This is of course Aeroche with their in-your-face witch house offering. They are appealing to us so much this year with their venture back into dark music - 'Come Closer' and this especially are divine. I can never resist witch house <3 the sample is really infectious and the signature witchy production of the sub-genre is delightfully spooky. Deandria also deliver a Halloween entry that appealed to us enough to get a silver medal! We were sold already when Español was part of the equation. Mix that with Halloween themes and electronic production and we simply cannot resist. What an absolute blast this is. But, coming on top are of course... Persephonia! We may have experienced a blip a couple of months ago, when neither of us pointed each other, but order is restored with me giving them an 18 now just like the good old days. Some may describe 'One Shy Morning' as background music or Moby-esque or perhaps even like something from the 'Blue Planet' soundtrack... but we are here for this! It's both unsettling and chilled at the same time. We don't know how this is possible but it just is. An entry this captivating simply had to snatch our 18. #instrumentalbloc

honestly this support has been very heartwarming to see after the shitstorm that’s been going on in the kpop industry. In between the radio silence with woojin leaving stray kids and then my bias from Monsta X leaving bc of stuff dug up from the past left me very drained so this was a nice way to brighten up the week

Good evening from Persephonia, pleased to be announcing our votes for the final of BJSC 119 following our surprise qualification, thank you to Lotunia for their excellent hosting x

Bouncing back from scandalously snubbing them two months ago, Jadakissnia are truly back on top form for us and get our 18 this month with a brilliantly infectious electronic track that we hope will be a third big hit for them in a row, it's the fifth time they've topped our votes in the final to date (following Last Lynx in BJSC 74, MONOMOTION in BJSC 97, goreshit in BJSC 102 and Somnium in BJSC 108) and their 16th medal position from us including three of their last four entries. Jupiterdonia take our 15 points, matching the highest they've got from us to date (previously done by FEVER 333 in BJSC 112, their only previous medal position for us) with a seasonally appropriate dark and intense track full of spooky atmosphere. Continuing the Halloween vibes but in a more uptempo way our 13 points go to Deandria with a SOFI TUKKER-esque Mexican zombie bop, also hoping this one can do quite well. That's Deandria's second time getting our 13 this year following mind.in.a.box in BJSC 115 and the fifth time in total they've ranked in our top 3 of a final.

Three remixes line up just outside our medal positions, all of which proved to be big growers during this contest - 12 points to Fljótavík with a 00s indie electronic bop by former Persephonian act Digitalism, 11 to Summericia with their video game soundtrack remix and 10 to Cadelicia with a track that reminded us a lot of Paul Kalkbrenner's 'Feed Your Head' (but better x), thank the lord this one qualified despite its deduction and let's hope Cadelicia have managed to vote in the final x This is the highest points we've given to Cadelicia since we gave 12 to Daler Mehndi in BJSC 82, and the first time they've ranked in our top 10 of a final since Die Antwoord in BJSC 87 (though 5 of their other entries received low points in the mean time). There's more Halloween vibes in our 9 and 8 pointers for dance bloc nations Dobago (with a very creepy but awesome industrial track) and Cowtermont (with what feels like a successor to both REZZ and Uun, also cats). 7 points go to Taahino with a great poppy metal track, much better than the Issues song from Nuggets thankfully, and Aeroche continue the spooky vibes rounding out our top 10 with their I Blame Coco sampling witch house track picking up 6 points.

Completing our mealworm points: 5 points to Séyetana with yet another Halloween appropriate track, a very vibey semi-instrumental from an act we had as a potential before, 4 points to Wholune with a flamboyant glam rock track which marks back-to-back points to them from us, 3 points to the likely winner from Unovia, no complaints from us if this does landslide it, 2 points to the environmentally conscious banger from Espen and one point to a grower of a punchy pop track from Hendinia (meaning we voted for both '9 Times' and 'Five Times' x)

Yeah I knew that slight doubt was probably unfounded, Unovia still miles ahead in the end! Ojnoj caught up impressively well though.

WD Liam, sometimes an obvious landslide winner just is an obvious landslide winner and this always felt like one! Not quite up there with my absolute fave winners of the year but it is one I voted for which is all I can really ask for!

Will comment on other results when I've double checked the rest of the leaderboard but if that's all right then... a tiebreak costing me a place in the top 30 I have done better than I expected to anyway though so I'm a happy hamster. x

haha yes an 18 swap with Summericia, great taste Roba! Great result for Ghost Data, particularly after a slow start.

That's really quite amazing that we had such an alt invasion that Trifoski and Wholune are both top 5, I didn't call that at all but I'm very pleased for both of them, huge tunes. Winner was okay, but well done Liam, quite the landslide.

Oh what I was comfortably top 10 I did think my late voters haul was decent but presumed the countries around me would've done even better.

That means... Jadakissnia have achieved three top 10s in a row for the first ever time! When I originally confirmed this I never thought in a million years that I had a top 10 on my hands. Wow! It's felt very rewarding to come top 10 with three songs that all sound nothing alike - glad we've appealed with all sorts. Thanks guys

great to see the Unovia landslide actually happen even with Ojnoj's late surge.
yay for Rufus Du Sol getting another top five for their probable sendoff entry and former Danævii entrants Tobtok & Oliver Nelson getting justice too.
the majority of the top ten made my votes too which is also good to see as well as myself, Summericia and Cadelicia making top 20.
'In Love With A Camera' is Wholune's best entry to date so good to see that giving them some success as well although it missed out on my votes, hopefully I can give them some points sometime soon.

Brilliant top two, wow! Haven't been that happy with the top end in a while, with Wholune 4th (yay, another spot on prediction *.*) and Altyr 6th too <3 Holland-Oats was my narrow fave and that's a solid finish for them too.

Just realised the singer on FARC's entry had an entry in the UK Eurovision national final a couple of years ago, was wondering why the name was familiar - top ten is a very solid result for them.

My odds weren't THAT out in the end, albeit I underpredicted Ojnoj (should have had more confidence in it, as I loved it) and Vulkyria (I was just completely wrong with that ). And overpredicted Aeroche, but that really wasn't based on their reputation, the song genuinely did sound like a big hit, top ten at least, and it was so right in terms of timing with the spooky feel.

Thanks for the great hosting NocheLuna! I really hope to return to the final next time! Always less entertaining to watch from the sidelines, but I had lots of faves to support this month, great quality contest.

Congrats Liam, I do kinda see why it landslided even if it didn't quite make my points (I mean two people confirmed it so the signs were there already). Ojnoj's song was really good as well so am glad that was so high and very pleased to see Trifoski in the top 5 as that's been in my head all week. Some songs I could've done with being a bit higher (or lower in some cases...) but good results overall.

Going from second last to third from last, yay I am admittedly just pleased this made the final as I didn't see it as an obvious hit. It seems I've mastered the qualifier this year, but not the final placing D:

Congrats to Liam on the win in this contest! A great track and a clear favourite to win right from the start doing exactly that!

Quite liked the Ojnoj entry that finished one place behind it too, and an impressive performance from Wholune, never would have expected that to finish top five.

Voted for seven of that top ten so pretty good results on the whole, my 18 finished just behind in 11th as well. Surprised Aeroche finished as low as 24th though, thought their entry would be almost certain to finish top 20 at least!

Great hosting from NocheLuna for this contest as well.

I only voted for 4 of the top 10 in the end but they're all nice results - apart from obvz Unovia winning, great to see Wholune getting the breakout top 10 (and top 5 at that) smash that I was hoping they would have had with their last entry, yass for a proper rock song making the top 5 and also thrilled to see my 18 from Jadakissnia staying comfortably top 10 and FLJ sneaking in, I feel like I should be more salty that Digitalism have now had 2 top 10 hits since my entry by them missed out but honestly I actually probably prefer both 'Open Waters' and this 'Pogo' remix to 'Blitz' even myself so I can't complain WD to Trifoski for an unexpected top 3 hit too (Marianas Trench going from a DNQ and a last place to this!) and Vülkyria proving that RÜFÜS DU SOL really are bulletproof in BJSC now. Not that we're ever going to allow them to be sent again. x

Some good results as well for Espen, Summericia, Cadelicia, Séyetana (picked up more than I realised after a slow start, yay for GHOST DATA delivering a top 20 hit for someone eventually), Taahino and an alright enough final showing for Jupiterdonia after they lagged near the bottom for so long. Another underwhelming result for another good Aeroche entry, I didn't personally like this one quite as much as DEVILNOTCRY but I was certain it'd have done nearly as well as that if not better considering it seemed to get an even better response on plug!! Deeply disappointing showings for Dobago (although what's new on that front) and especially Deandria though and I was really way off the mark for New Lexico, it was a top 3 hit on PopJustice and was sure it could appeal pretty well here too! Ah well ~ Also I see Lotunia really did get enough of a late points boost to avoid setting a new points low for the BJSC 74-present era so it's merely just a big flop rather than a historic one I know the feeling of going from winning to hosting a contest where I was dead last by a mile the whole time... (poor brave Eagles For Hands).

My entry this time was really just for myself and I had zero expectation of it qualifying so avoiding the bottom 5 is a victory by me (albeit only because of the deductions oops) x really happy that it managed to pick up 2 18s and three further medal positions, I honestly had no clue if anyone else would care for it at all! Thanks all who voted for it x plus 32nd is another new unique position for me so another of my flop finalists this year proving useful for something! Absolutely zero surprise that I was the country that came 18th in semi 2, nice that it seems my song grew on a couple of people from the semi based on this scoreboard (although I went from 10 in the semi to 0 in the final from Summericia it appears oop) but I actually seemingly would have been better off in semi 1 surprisingly. Not many glaring differences between the semis and the final this time at all, seems Séyetana picked up a decent amount after a semi-scrape in but that's near enough it.

Lastly thanks to Noche for being a fantastic host, really glad that we had the opportunity to have you as a host and that you took it on! :3

...and now I need to find a song for the next contest as I once again have nothing again oop xx

I knew I'd be one of the songs in the four way tie, I think that's the third time this year after Woodkid and Anoice that I got the last qualifying spot narrowly! I've been insanely lucky with these.

5th in the SF AND the Final!! Couldn't ask for a better result for my 50th! Thanks guys!
(Although we've yet missed again on that elusive 4th place - which along with 1st - is what I'm missing to complete my Top 10 collection!)

Lovely winner, firmly on my playlists for regular rotation.

Onwards to my 51st entry which will be a sort of further celebration of the previous 50 to end the year on a high (err hopefully lol)

Also a shame to see The Impact miss the Top 10 but it did considerably better than what I sent so still a tad annoyed Terra Avium shouldn't be so low but then again I only gave it one point so didn't really help!
