It's now less than a week before Madonna's tenth concert tour Rebel Heart Tour gets underway, so to mark the occasion, let's discuss our favourite tour moments. If you've ever had the pleasure of seeing Madonna live and have special memories of such moment, then even better! My favourite tour moments are the ones where Madonna and the crowd seem to be connected through a stripped back performance. This was evident in the 'Drowned World' performance on the Confessions Tour. It's tinged in humour but the speech where she thanks her crew and fans, apologises for anyone's version being blocked by cameras and mimics someone's call of "yeah" are touching moments whilst the simplicity of the performances really allows the lyrics to shine through. Equally as poignant is the 'You Must Love Me/Don't Cry For Me Argentina' performance on the Sticky & Sweet Tour. The Argentinean audience seem to adore Madonna during the tour and I feel like she was pretty touched by this as she smiles her way through whilst giving a spectacular vocal performance. I love the reaction to the guy on guitar when Madonna hits the big note during 'You Must Love Me' as well as the crowd's ovation. Never fails to make me feel bittersweet. |
