It's Not Over...

With sales approaching 800,000 physical copies sold already in the UK there is no doubt that this will be a million selling global release for Elvis Presley. Although topping the USA classical charts with “If I Can Dream” Sony will be looking for a greater success Stateside of Elvis in the Billboard album Chart.

Producer Don Reedman has told the OEPFC “Next year it is hoped to stage the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra live with Elvis on the big screen in a one off concert in the UK, and plans are under way for an Elvis Gospel album with the RPO for August 2017.”

Elvis actually sold more physical albums than Adele. Downloading appears to be Elvis' Achilles Heel when it comes to purchasing habits.

This is how the UK Midweek Album Chart looks so far this week, with Adele only 3,919 units ahead !!!

1 Adele - 25 (21,229)
2 Elvis Presley - I Can Dream (17,310)
3 Justin Bieber - Purpose (14,873)
4 Jess Glynne - I Cry When I Laugh (12,681)
5 James Bay - Chaos and the Calm (9,063)

So close. We could still do it. I will be buying a few more copies for friends and relatives.

Don't forget that the Documentary 'Elvis And Me' with Joanna Lumley and Priscilla will be repeated on ITV this Wednesday, 6th January, at 10.45 p.m. and this could help our cause as it features tracks from the IICD album and no doubt the official advertisement during the interval/s.

Top 5 UK Albums + 1 for w/e 8th January, 2016

1 Adele '25' 43,446 [2,539,346]
2 Elvis Presley 'If I Can Dream' 40,417 [921,076]
3 Justin Bieber 'Purpose' 35,694
4 Jess Glynne 'I Cry When I Laugh' 24,931
5 James Bay 'Chaos And The Calm' 17,184

As I suspected Elvis remains No.1 on the Physical Album Chart (downloads are his Achilles Heel) and still No.1 on the Scottish Album Chart.
