Amanda's performing on the last BGT semi final on Oct 3rd, should give the album a decent boost.

This is #33 on Apple Music, which is much higher than I expected! Albums by artists like Michael Ball etc usually only get to around #400ish there.

I think because Amanda is a tabloid celebrity that might help her streams out. There’ll be people listening just wanting to slag it off too.

I can see this debuting top three which is still a rather incredible achievement, it’s a shame the ratings are dropping on BGT but I’m sure her performance could be enough for a top 3 debut

Makes me feel ill tbh, this is such a cheap cash in it deserves to flop. I'm a bit fed up of 'celebrities' releasing cover albums (often with the same songs on them) over and over again sick2.gif

I mean who actually buys them and why? Just listen to the originals by the more talented people.

While I'm not a fan of her I can see this doing ok in the charts, possibly along the lines of bradley Walsh success with his debut.

If she’d released a few weeks earlier (like the week Ava released) she might’ve even got the #1! I can perhaps see her ending the week top 5 this week though maybes #4?

This. I was thinking earlier - WHO/WHY exactly would you buy or listen to a collection of over-covered songs sung by a TV/radio presenter?
The British public really is surprising in its support of UK household names, regardless of what they do I guess.

I just personally struggle to think why I would dedicate my time/money on such an unoriginal cash-in project. Mel C and Emma at least have a fanbase as singers, so I understand why My Happy Place would at least debut high on week 1. But this... *shrugs*

Yup I don't get it at all, Bradley Walsh, Sheridan Smith, Alexander Armstrong, Amanda Holden, Jeff Goldblum... so many more. Why? I'd get if it they released original material and had some cracking songs but its just so lazy and uninspired... and then Holden was saying tonight how personal these songs are to her and them being about her family... well they're not because they're not your songs they are from musicals, what a load of tripe.

I wouldn't be so bothered if they charted at like #40 or something but they outsell so many others who have actually crafted a great album or have something to actually deliver, it's depressing.

Covers are a quick cash in for people of a certain ages. Mothers / grandparents for instance may love this and other cover type artists.

Buble the Xmas king himself is quite the covers fave and it never affects him likewise people like Ball and Bowe. It’s kinda worked in her favour too releasing it at this time of year and having a BGT slot on release week as I think it was due to come out on Mother’s Day week. They’re an easy sell for physical buyers. It’s funny though I think people might buy them because they like them as people too rather than actually thinking that their albums actually worth buying.

I mean I really like Bradley Walsh's TV work, so I did give both his albums a listen (and they are pretty decent as far as those sort of albums go), and I suppose Holden etc have their fans as well.

Chris Kamara last year though was stretching it laugh.gif him getting a top 10 album was quite something!
