EOY season's not over yet! All 52 of last year's Multicharts have been compiled, so it's time to count down and find out Buzzjack's OFFICIAL favorite songs of the year!

This EOY is compiled in a points-based format based on the weekly Multichart: the #1 each week gets 75 points, the #75 gets 1 point, and so on. You can use that to have an idea of which songs will do well here. Any guesses, hopes, predictions?

We'll start with #75 through #71 later today. Until then, here's how the Year-End Multichart looked in 2020:

71 683 Shane Codd - Get Out My Head (...-7-8-9-9-8-6-8-18-23-25-43-65-xx) [12 wks]
72 676 Tom Grennan - Little Bit Of Love (69-73-48-52-39-45-50-36-31-17-19-18-12-13-23-35-47-65-xx) [18 wks]
73 671 London Grammar - Lose Your Head (44-26-20-13-14-14-19-16-16-20-26-40-53-72-xx) [14 wks]
74 668 Steps - Take Me For A Ride (43-29-21-13-14-16-12-15-17-19-39-61-75-xx-41-61-72-xx) [16 wks]
75 667 Justin Bieber - Hold On (23-12-7-5-6-7-10-14-15-33-51-62-xx) [12 wks]

We start proceedings with Justin Bieber, 'Hold On' was his second single of 2021 and just sneaks into the EOY. He'll have another song or two further up. Steps are just one point higher with 'Take Me For A Ride', their first of three entries. 'Lose Your Head' was London Grammar's third single from Californian Soil, their first of three singles in 2021 but their only appearance in this EOY. Tom Grennan finally had his big breakthrough in 2021 with not one, but three UK top 10s; 'Little Bit Of Love' fell just short in the Multichart though! And Shane Codd's 'Get Out My Head' completes the first section, its chart run began in 2020 but only the 2021 chart weeks are included here, otherwise it would place higher, but still a good performance despite that disadvantage.

66 694 Riton & Nightcrawlers feat. Mufasa & Hypeman - Friday (Dopamine Re-Edit) (61-50-26-25-26-17-25-18-24-23-28-31-46-42-42-51-65-74-xx) [18 wks]
67 694 Little Mix - Love (Sweet Love) (26-20-12-7-8-14-9-10-22-22-34-34-xx) [12 wks]
68 694 THE ANXIETY, WILLOW & Tyler Cole - Meet Me At Our Spot (35-26-33-28-24-14-11-12-11-12-20-29-39-...) [13 wks]
69 690 Lana Del Rey - Chemtrails Over The Country Club (37-20-18-12-6-4-6-28-42-45-30-37-37-52-xx) [14 wks]
70 685 Laura Mvula - Got Me (49-47-31-28-38-13-12-12-22-27-28-29-38-43-56-58-xx) [16 wks]

we're back

Laura Mvula's turn towards slick synth funk on Got Me won over many on Buzzjack (as did the album in general - getting a further top 20 peak with 'Church Girl'), while Lana Del Rey's title track from the chart-topping Chemtrails Over the Country Club surged all the way up to #4. We all CAUGHT A VOIBE with The Anxiety's Meet Me At Our Spot, one of the most likeable hits of the year (especially in its live form), that's followed by some flop Little Mix track, and Riton gained an easy cash-in hit by attaching his name to a TikTok trend + another interpolation of Push The Feeling On (at least it's better than Dinner Guest...?)

'Chemtrails Over The Country Club' is definitely my favourite to appear so far! That was a #2 hit in my chart, rebounding to a high after the album of the same name came out wub.gif

I also charted 'MEET ME AT OUR SPOT' <3 glad the live performance caught on so much.

61 716 Anne-Marie, KSI & Digital Farm Animals - Don’t Play (18-19-11-13-12-8-9-14-21-17-35-xx-55-40-xx) [13 wks]
62 709 Doja Cat & The Weeknd - You Right (22-20-18-26-21-22-23-24-21-36-41-46-42-46-55-60-62-74-xx) [18 wks]
63 708 Coldplay - Higher Power (27-9-5-5-7-9-11-18-17-28-32-47-71-70-xx) [14 wks]
64 705 SZA - Good Days (32-30-28-21-10-7-10-12-11-15-22-45-54-62-xx) [14 wks]
65 705 ABBA - I Still Have Faith In You (14-5-8-11-7-9-13-16-21-26-37-40-xx) [12 wks]

Swedish legends ABBA made a triumphant comeback in 2021 and as a result charted in the Multichart for the first time ever; 'I Still Have Faith In You' is their first of two appearances in the EOY. SZA is finally achieving solo success, especially with 'Good Days', her first top 10 as lead artist on the Multichart - shame it couldn't get there officially! Coldplay also scored a couple hits, with the help of Max Martin; 'Higher Power' is firmly my fave of the two but most of you must disagree as the other one's still to come! Check out the slow-burning chart run for Doja Cat's 'You Right', a #18 peak but 18 weeks on the chart adds up to #62 here, but it's not the lowest-peaking song in the EOY. Anne-Marie rounds off this group, recording a garage track with KSI worked in her favor as 'Don't Play' reached #2 officially and #8 on the Multichart.

56 741 Kylie Minogue - Real Groove (...-11-4-7-5-4-9-16-21-44-52-20-42-36-52-xx) [14 wks]
57 738 Bebe Rexha - Sacrifice (19-30-23-16-15-13-16-21-20-21-25-36-35-52-60-xx) [15 wks]
58 734 Little Mix feat. Saweetie - Confetti (…-17-6-5-6-6-5-10-10-11-19-39-50-70-xx) [13 wks]
59 728 Wolf Alice - How Can I Make It OK? (64-36-33-23-26-30-41-40-68-42-35-32-23-24-26-36-44-50-56-63-xx) [20 wks]
60 726 Kylie Minogue and Years & Years - A Second To Midnight (11-6-6-6-4-3-2-6-9-25-32-...) [11 wks]

A batch for the Kylie stans, bookended by Olly Alexander collab A Second To Midnight from Disco's Guest List Edition (#4 hit Real Groove also ended up on there courtesy of a remix/feature with Dua Lipa). Wolf Alice managed a lengthy run with How Can I Make It OK? from their recent chart topping album (it's not their only appearance on here), alongside Little Mix's single version of Confetti featuring Saweetie, and a Bebe Rexha song that reached #13

51 764 Miley Cyrus feat. Dua Lipa - Prisoner (…-1-1-2-2-5-7-10-16-24-23-29-44-60-xx) [13 wks]
52 762 Ewan McVicar - Tell Me Something Good (53-62-50-37-16-14-11-9-8-9-12-16-19-31-31-xx) [15 wks]
53 757 Adele - Easy On Me (65-4-2-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-...) [11 wks]
54 756 Steps feat. Michelle Visage - Heartbreak In This City (29-13-15-15-12-11-11-5-8-9-11-23-70-xx) [13 wks]
55 749 Maisie Peters - Psycho (50-41-30-21-17-17-14-15-13-21-21-25-28-33-45-xx) [14 wks]

We have both the first and the last #1s of the year in this section! Needless to say 'Prisoner' and 'Easy On Me' would've both done better had their full chart runs been included, although at least all of Adele's weeks at #1 were in 2021, whereas Miley and Dua had three more weeks at the top in 2020. We also have Maisie Peters' breakthrough hit 'Psycho', Steps' top-five hit 'Heartbreak In This City', and Ewan McVicar's 'Tell Me Something Good' which certainly outperformed its 38th-place finish in BJSC...!!

46 779 Lorde - Solar Power (12-6-5-3-5-7-6-12-19-26-31-32-45-xx) [13 wks]
47 777 Lil Nas X - THATS WHAT I WANT (22-10-4-6-8-7-8-10-10-18-26-43-56-59-...) [14 wks]
48 776 Coldplay & BTS - My Universe (22-12-4-3-3-4-5-5-8-17-30-37-62-...) [13 wks]
49 771 Steps - The Slightest Touch (41-34-34-32-33-34-30-31-25-16-16-16-19-28-36-42-54-...) [17 wks]
50 766 Griff - Black Hole (33-29-42-39-35-44-20-12-16-14-20-21-20-35-46-51-52-73-xx) [18 wks]

we're still alive! Griff's breakthrough hit Black Hole scored her first multichart appearance reaching a #12 peak, while Steps' The Slightest Touch was the second top 20 single off What The Future Holds Pt 2. Coldplay & BTS joined on #3 hit My Universe, Lil Nas X smashed into the top 5 for a third time last year with THATS WHAT I WANT vaulting quickly to #4, and Lorde made her return with Solar Power - encouraging a new generation of listeners to throw their cellular devices in the water

41 822 Becky Hill feat. Topic - My Heart Goes (La Di Da) (19-28-19-13-12-14-13-10-12-14-23-35-42-52-xx) [14 wks]
42 800 Taylor Swift - willow (…-3-2-1-1-3-3-4-7-14-21-28-51-56-xx-70-xx) [14 wks]
43 792 Wolf Alice - The Last Man On Earth (55-26-10-8-10-13-17-17-15-19-23-22-33-40-41-75-xx) [15 wks]
44 789 Justin Bieber - Anyone (31-11-10-7-4-5-8-9-14-39-40-34-39-63-50-63-xx) [16 wks]
45 785 Camila Cabello - Don't Go Yet (17-7-3-2-4-7-8-7-10-16-25-42-55-xx) [13 wks]

Camila Cabello's comeback single 'Don't Go Yet' was the hit it deserved to be on the Multichart, almost a #1 even but blocked by The Weeknd. Just above her is Justin Bieber with 'Anyone', the biggest Multichart hit from his latest album Justice - also deserved! Wolf Alice appear again with 'The Last Man On Earth', their first top 10 on the Multichart! We lose a #1 in this section, Taylor's 'willow' had just a couple chart weeks in 2020 which may have cost it a top 40 spot in the EOY. Becky Hill rounds us out with 'My Heart Goes (La Di Da)', which barely scraped top 10 on the multi after falling just short in the UK - perhaps you've heard her rant about it laugh.gif

36 882 DJ Craig Gorman & Rain Radio - Talk About (60-42-31-13-13-9-8-9-9-11-16-20-23-23-35-41-47-xx) [17 wks]
37 880 Sam Fender - Seventeen Going Under (57-35-27-19-18-15-18-29-30-37-45-62-65-xx-70-xx-69-18-28-23-17-16-18-...) [21 wks]
38 875 Ella Henderson & Tom Grennan - Let's Go Home Together (10-8-8-10-8-7-5-4-7-8-12-18-27-57-xx) [14 wks]
39 843 Marshmello & Jonas Brothers - Leave Before You Love Me (26-17-10-11-11-11-12-16-16-17-19-24-33-42-42-66-xx) [16 wks]
40 841 Anne Marie & Little Mix - Kiss My (Uh Oh) (10-5-4-6-6-6-9-8-7-14-16-21-44-67-xx) [14 wks]

Anne-Marie's Lumidee-sampling "Kiss My (Uh Oh)" instantly cracked the top 10 thanks to a feature from perennial multichart favourites Little Mix, just behind Marshmello & Jonas Bros' less obvious sample of Instant Crush on "Leave Before You Love Me". Ella Henderson & Tom Grennan plagued the radio with their cringeworthy MOR tune "Let's Go Home Together", Rain Radio & Craig Gorman revived a Nelly Furtado classic(??) into a generic house track, while Sam Fender's "Seventeen Going Under" became one of last year's surprise indie crossover smashes - reaching #15 here on initial release before its TikTok success boosted it up to a #7 peak in 2022.

31 900 Måneskin - I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE (21-18-15-15-8-7-3-6-5-15-20-25-28-36-44-50-xx) [16 wks]
32 899 Bruno Mars, Anderson Paak & Silk Sonic - Leave The Door Open (40-13-13-18-8-6-7-9-10-15-19-21-24-24-38-52-xx) [16 wks]
33 898 Calvin Harris feat. Tom Grennan - By Your Side (12-5-5-3-5-8-8-9-11-15-20-22-26-38-55-xx) [15 wks]
34 896 Shouse - Love Tonight (David Guetta Remix) (51-32-27-25-18-18-18-21-18-17-26-30-18-20-23-39-44-54-49-xx) [19 wks]
35 894 The Weeknd - Take My Breath (12-1-1-2-2-3-3-3-11-15-18-33-36-44-70-68-xx) [16 wks]

Only six points separate the five songs in this section! The Weeknd's comeback single 'Take My Breath' had a strong start with 2 weeks at #1 but dropped pretty quickly after week 8. Shouse's 'Love Tonight' had a much slower burn with a #17 peak but 7 weeks in the top 20. Another Tom Grennan song in this section, 'By Your Side' was the most successful of his three hits on the Multichart last year. Silk Sonic's 'Leave The Door Open' also performed better on Buzzjack than in the UK chart, with a #6 peak here. Måneskin also had three chart hits in 2021 but surprisingly 'I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE' is the only one to appear in this EOY, falling just short of the top 30 but cracking the 900-point threshold.

30 901 Joel Corry & Jax Jones feat. Charli XCX & Saweetie - OUT OUT (56-16-2-4-4-4-4-4-6-12-20-27-33-33-57-52-66-xx) [17 wks]

Joel Corry scored an unlucky, third successive #2 hit with OUT OUT. The Stromae-sampling party starter was held off the top spot by The Weeknd's Take My Breath. Mabel explored club culture in bold, brilliant new ways with Let Them Know, adding a 6th top 5 hit to her collection. Described as an "anthem for dressing up with nowhere to go", the song is said to transport the minutiae and ultimately transform normality into the majestic.

Charli XCX ushered in her venture into more mainstream-sounding pop with the short, but sweet Good Ones, becoming her highest-charting single since 2019's Gone. Ed Sheeran threatened to give us the shivers with another cheese slice which, despite 30k signed CDs, failed to top the Multichart. Starstruck by English singer Olly Alexander, performing under the name Years & Years, spent a month at number one. A remix of the song featuring Kylie Ann Minogue was released at the time.
