Five years ago today, Dua Lipa released her second song called "Be The One", which was included on her self-titled debut album. Two music videos were released. The first one was premiered through Nylon and was filmed by Nicole Nodland in Soho, London, while the second music video was released through VEVO (being a collaboration between them and Lexus) on December 5, 2016. It was directed by Daniel Kaufman and stars Ansel Elgort as her love interest.

I don't think this could possibly have aged better, I think I even SLIGHTLY prefer it to the behemoth of New Rules at this point.

I was recommended this on YouTube back in early 2016 and that's where it all started for me wub.gif I was so blown away by her voice and presence. Shoved the song and video in all my friend's faces claiming that she will be the next big pop girl, they never believed me but I was so right!!

So bizarre to think that this remained an unhidden gem to the British public for YEARS. I saw it making waves in a few of the Eastern European charts and didn't really distinguish it from any other sort of pop that's popular over there. Then comes Hotter Than Hell and hold up a sec... this is the same gal? And then no one could have predicted this having such a successful second bite at the cherry!

I didn't really like it the first time around, I quite enjoyed it when it charted the second time around and now I think it sounds even better. What a wonderful track!
