I'd love to see RAYE make it today but sadly I can't see that she will have made up the gap to Wham or Mariah. Still got my fingers crossed that it could have miraculously happened though

Dimelo is such a banger, it's a shame Rak-Su didn't do too well after that.

the Gabrielle Aplin song from 10 years ago hasn't been well-remembered whatsoever, a bit of a chart injustice in hindsight that it blocked Bruno Mars off #1 by such a narrow gap - although it's a fairly pleasant cover, the Lily Allen song from the year later was a lot better so unsurprisingly that's been the go-to song that is remembered from the peak John Lewis ad era.

as groan worthy of a song Perfect is, I can't really complain about it holding off Rak-Su from the top as I didn't particularly enjoy their song either, and it clearly wasn't a close match between them, this was about the point X Factor was getting desperate as the Louisa single the previous year had been a huge surprise-flop.

also didnt realise how close Cheeky Girls were to Eminem, now that would've been a massive chart injustice if one of Eminem's most classic singles was denied #1 by... that (admittedly I did enjoy the song at the time, but I was literally 6 years old).

as for this week I would love a Raye #1 but appreciate that's almost certain to not happen until January now.

Biography

José Monserrate Feliciano García (born September 10, 1945), better known simply as José Feliciano [xoˈse feliˈsjano], is a Puerto Rican musician, singer and composer, best known for many international hits, including his rendition of the Doors' "Light My Fire" and the best-selling Christmas single, "Feliz Navidad." His music is known for its fusion of styles: Latin, jazz, blues, soul and even rock, created primarily with his unique, signature acoustic guitar sound. His oftentimes mellow easy listening influences are easily recognizable in many songs heard around the world.

In the United States, he first received widespread popularity in the 1960s, particularly after his 1968 album Feliciano! reached number two on the music charts. Thus far, he has released over fifty albums, worldwide, in both English and Spanish.

Not that Gabrielle's rendition is anything great, but I strongly disagree with that sick2.gif sick2.gif
