it nearly happened over 5 years ago when Willow Smith (remember her??) nearly made #1 but until this week every #1 act has been by an artist born after myself
 Yes, Shawn Mendes is only 17 years old.so who was the first act younger than you to go to #1? |

Yep, Shawn for me too. I don't want to say it makes me feel old because I know that'll piss of the err vintage members but it definitely makes me feel I'm growing up when people my age or under are starting to get chart hits.

I actually think it was Sean Kingston who is around 18 months to 2 years younger than me. I don't even think there were any close calls before then.

Thought it was Lorde, but I looked it up to make sure, and apparently A*M*E from "Need U (100%)" is 8 months younger than me so her I guess. Lorde is the first lead artist to be younger than me though.
