Coming November 13th

Posted by: KWEEN_DEE 2nd October 2015, 09:38 PM

It took me ages to figure out what it said laugh.gif

Posted by: JosephStyles 2nd October 2015, 10:01 PM

Not the best album title ever but Believe was also a fairly cringy title I guess and that didn't hinder the album at all heehee.gif

Posted by: KWEEN_DEE 2nd October 2015, 11:52 PM

I think its sort of his third album as their trying to pass "Journals" off as a compilation

Posted by: JosephStyles 3rd October 2015, 12:01 AM

Under the Mistletoe though heehee.gif

Excellent album cover. Best one by a big popstar this year surely. Disappointing lack of peen though.

Posted by: HausEveryWeekend 9th October 2015, 07:07 PM

Incredible cover wub.gif

Inspired by the artist Retna and so on point as an album cover.

Posted by: JosephStyles 9th October 2015, 07:15 PM

LOVE.

Posted by: Cody's Revival 16th October 2015, 04:34 AM

The album has officially gone for pre-order in the US!

"Where Are Ü Now" and a new track called "Sorry" have been confirmed to be on it so far. There's another track that's supposed to be a bit over 3 minutes as well.

Posted by: Atonement 16th October 2015, 06:54 AM

omg i must have this just for the cover.

good that 'Where Are U Now' is on it too.

Plus the Ariana Grande remix of What Do You Mean? as a pre-order only track!

Posted by: KWEEN_DEE 16th October 2015, 10:47 AM

Is the Ariana track out now?

Posted by: JosephStyles 16th October 2015, 10:54 AM

No, what would be the point of it being pre-order only if you could get it separately now tongue.gif

Posted by: KWEEN_DEE 17th October 2015, 10:15 AM

Aren't all pre order songs like that? I swear it's getting a release next Friday?

Posted by: JosephStyles 17th October 2015, 10:57 AM

No, because it's not pre-order only if it gets its own release tongue.gif It's an incentive to pre-order the album - it won't be available from 13th November as the album will not be on pre-order then.

Posted by: Dannoween 29th October 2015, 08:49 PM

It's been confirmed that Skrillex has produced another song for the album; 'The Feeling' (feat. Halsey) dance.gif

looking forward to hearing that as 'Sorry' is great.

No Pressure also features Big Sean I think! So excited for all this new music wub.gif

Posted by: Hayzayy 2nd November 2015, 04:04 PM

The song is good as an album track but the video is quite "empty" laugh.gif Of course Iceland is lovely but he could have done wih a bit more action in it.

Posted by: JosephStyles 2nd November 2015, 04:08 PM

I don't think this is intended as anything more than an instant grat anyway heehee.gif It's a nice song, not as good as the two singles though.

Posted by: Davidson 2nd November 2015, 04:34 PM

'I'll Show You' is stunning.

Absolutely perfect mix between his new tropical house sound and the R&B sound of the last album. I'm actually so excited for the album now (something I never thought I'd say).

Posted by: J▲hq 2nd November 2015, 10:39 PM

Video goes well with the more subtle sound of the song. Not as exciting as the singles for me but it's still 'lovely' as an album track.

Posted by: Cremey 4th November 2015, 04:39 PM

This is my most anticipated release of the year now, seriously can't wait for it.
'I'll Show You' is incredible, as is everything else we've heard from it so far heart.gif

(+ Travi$ Scott collab?! Amazing.)

Posted by: Cremey 5th November 2015, 11:21 PM

Addicted to 'I'll Show You' now.
By far my favourite from the songs we've heard so far and one of the songs of the year for me 😍
So damn good.

Posted by: Davidson 5th November 2015, 11:24 PM

Completely with you. 'I'll Show You' has not only become my favourite of the era but it is by far and away my favourite thing he's ever done. So so perfect.

Posted by: KWEEN_DEE 5th November 2015, 11:54 PM

I've u-turned majorly and am finding this era rather beige. His voice seems too breezy for dance songs. Idk.

Posted by: The 5TH of ADAM. 6th November 2015, 08:40 AM

Justin's music has really caught my ear recently with his last few singles: Where Are Ü Now, What Do You Mean, Sorry so perhaps this is on the cards for listening to thinking.gif
Not too struck on that grat though but it's not terrible.

Don't be expecting an album full of club bangers.

Posted by: HausofKubrick 12th November 2015, 09:33 PM

It's a really good album. I had insanely high expectations going into it with what we have heard so far, and while the rest of the album doesn't quite follow the trend of those two (it does at times!) it's still very powerful and moving and real. 'Love Yourself, 'The Feeling' and title track 'Purpose' are my favourites on first listen but i can see myself returning to it a fair bit like with 'Believe'.

So glad he's back and on TOP FORM. He really needed it after all the drama that has filled his life in the past few years and this album does a superb job of silencing that and putting it to rest. He speaks about it all throughout and it must be such a relief for him to finally release it and have his say.

Posted by: Calum Hood 13th November 2015, 02:23 AM

This is SUCH a good album. Not a single bad song, and definitely a massive improvement since 'Believe'.

The first half is so f***ing boring.

Children *.* Been You is pretty strong too. The production is fine as hell.

The f***ing spoken parts though. I usually don't mind them but these ones sound so f***ing pretentious.

i listened to about half of the tracks and i'm not really a fan of the album so far...

Posted by: Joe. 13th November 2015, 08:52 AM

'Children' and 'I'll Show You' are the best along with 'Sorry' for me.

A bit disappointed with the Halsey collab.

Posted by: mr_pmt 13th November 2015, 12:43 PM

I had someone tell me which are the dancier ones and singled them out. laugh.gif Children, Been You and Get Used To It Apparently?

'Been You' is properly excellent! wub.gif Surely a single?

Posted by: JosephStyles 13th November 2015, 02:50 PM

Been You isn't on the standard edition so I doubt it!

The standard album really is fantastic wub.gif Not a single weak track. The deluxe tracks are good but a bit less good and a tad samey. The three Target tracks are better. My album highlights are Love Yourself, Company, Children and The Feeling, and I like I'll Show You much more in the context of the album actually.

Kinda wanted this to be more like WDYM and Sorry than it is but still a nice album, maybe a bit long but the songs are all very nice. Think my favourite so far is Love Yourself.

In what way are they pretentious huh.gif I hate that word getting thrown around especially when there is nothing even remotely pretentious about them here, especially as the monologue comes at the end of 'Purpose' (ie. the END of the album where he wants to give a parting message (and then again at the end of the deluxe album)) - a lot of albums do it and it makes more than enough sense to come in an album where he is directly addressing the public explaining the past few years. If anything it needs MORE spoken moments.

The album on second listen is even better than I initially thought. wub.gif

Posted by: Rooney 14th November 2015, 03:49 PM

Halsey makes The Feeling sound like 15 year old Bieber is signing the chorus.

08.0 Mark My Words
09.0 I'll Show You
10.0 What Do You Mean?
11.0 Sorry
10.0 Love Yourself

09.5 Company
09.0 No Pressure (feat. Big Sean)
08.5 No Sense (feat. Travis Scott)
09.5 The Feeling (feat. Halsey) - this is growing on me RAPIDLY
08.0 Life Is Worth Living
10.0 Where Are Ü Now (Skrillex & Diplo feat. Justin Bieber)
09.5 Children
09.0 Purpose

08.0 Been You
06.0 Get Used To It
07.0 We Are (feat. Nas)
06.0 Trust
08.0 All In It

09.0 Hit the Ground
10.0 The Most (the original Where Are Ü Now heart.gif)
09.5 Home To Mama (Justin Bieber & Cody Simpson)

The standard edition is FLAWLESS. Not a single weak track in those 13 wub.gif The deluxe tracks are a bit less good but still not bad at all. The Target bonus tracks are better than the regular deluxe tracks laugh.gif Such a good album though, he's well and truly brought it.

Posted by: Davidson 15th November 2015, 06:52 PM

After a few listens I do think this is by far and away his best album, my only problem is that the ballads are pretty dreary and bring the overall thing down, I am especially not getting the love for 'Love Yourself' - it is so dull and sounds like Ed Sheeran could easily stick it on his album. The album is just too long and that allows fillers to sneak in to what could have been an absolutely incredible album.

I have made my own version of the album taking out the tracks that aren't doing it for me and in this form, it could challenge for one of the best pop albums of the year.

1. Mark My Words
2. I'll Show You
3. What Do You Mean?
4. Sorry
5. No Sense (feat. Travis $cott)
6. Company
7. Been You
8. Children
9. We Are (feat. Nas)
10. Where Are U Now (with Skrillex & Diplo)
11. Get Used To Me
12. The Feeling (feat. Halsey)
13. Hit The Ground

NOW that is an incredible album wub.gif

'Love Yourself' is great. Does it sample something? The melody in the verses is so familiar! (I'm thinking maybe Whitney - My Love...)

Such a good album, despite a bit of a downbeat start (barring the 2 singles). But such a fantastic, reinvented sound for him. Not surprised that he's at quite possibly the peak of his career. Especially now with streaming and those who don't want to publically admit they like him, can stream the album and enjoy it! wink.gif

Posted by: Liаm 17th November 2015, 04:10 PM

LOVE YOURSELF OMGGGGG

This album is amaze. By FAR his best (although I only heard this and Believe). Been You is great too.

tbf I've heard nothing but universal praise for the music side of things this era from everyone. It's a very impressive turnaround, something I never thought would be possible to do!

Posted by: Chloexx 18th November 2015, 12:16 AM

HIS BEST ALBUM EVER.

Posted by: AdamAloud 19th November 2015, 10:16 AM

As much as I've stanned for his dancier tracks this year, 'Love Yourself' is by far my favourite track of his yet, gorgeous wub.gif

Posted by: Rooney 19th November 2015, 09:38 PM

Love Yourself surely the 3rd single?

I know it's already doing well with cherry picking, but this is another potential #1!

Posted by: KWEEN_DEE 20th November 2015, 12:54 AM

I'd say it has Grammy performance written over it.

Posted by: AdamAloud 20th November 2015, 05:29 PM

Charts at #2 then, only 2593 sales off number 1, another day and he would have done it.

Still a great result and I imagine this to be a real big seller in the long run heart.gif

I joined the AXS waiting room when it opened at 8:30 and there wasn't anything [that wasn't right at the very back] left when it was finally my turn sometime after 9:30.

Not that it concerns me too much because they'll release some more a month or two in advance and can hopefully grab some then.

Posted by: Scherz 17th December 2015, 07:02 PM

I ended up with 4 sets of tickets in Manchester because I kept panic buying tickets thinking I wasn't going to get anywhere better but after I'd checked out, I got better seats.. 3 times! So now I have 8 tickets for the same night and 7 really grateful friends!

Posted by: Atonement 10th January 2016, 12:04 PM

On Dutch radio 'Childen' was played yesterday and confirmed to be the new single.

Posted by: JosephMendes 10th January 2016, 12:06 PM

God they're wasting no time with this campaign are they laugh.gif Love the song though. I expect it won't impact for a short while?

Posted by: Atonement 10th January 2016, 12:19 PM

I have no idea how it works here tbh. It was in a game, '''make it or break it'', which usually plays new singles which people can vote for ('Children' was made with 92%) but I'm not sure it means the song will go into heavy rotation immediately.

JB was also the entire top 3 in the Dutch singles top 100 for 5 weeks straight (until this week). His popularity is crazy.

Posted by: mr_pmt 10th January 2016, 12:26 PM

It still completely baffles me that 'Been You' is a bonus track, to me that sounds like a smash hit single!

Posted by: KWEEN_DEE 10th January 2016, 12:57 PM

TBH 'Love Yourself' has another month in it... especially if he does a Grammys performance... I think 'Children' should be saved for summer.
