Team GB aren't sending a men's team to the Football as in 2016 - appears to be related to the four different football associations involved in the nation - but the Women's team have the first match on tomorrow morning!

Sweden beating USA 3-0, that's a shock.

The USA not winning a football match, that must be a shock! Good to see the GB women start off with a win as well.
Caught the end of Japan v Canada, only saw a few minutes but still some good chances! I'm off to try and find some coverage for Zambia vs the Netherlands now, looks like it's been an exciting game... |

It’s currently 10-2 to the Netherlands against Zambia, I turned it on at 9-1 and I’ve caught 2 goals already.. 😂

I've just clicked on BBC's 'Live Football' coverage in hope of catching a bit of Netherlands/Zambia but I'm just getting a replay of Brazil v China? Rather confusing.

You know it's not your day when you score 3 goals against your opponents but still lose by a 7 goal margin

Caught most of the men's France - Mexico game earlier today, a bit of a shock to see France get beaten by that much! Although I heard them speaking about how France didn't have all the squad they would have chosen available to them. Looks very likely that they could be out at the group stage!
Also been looking at the qualification process for the football - interesting how the European qualificaton was the U21 Championships, which put Romania through over some of the supposed bigger teams A country for the future maybe? |

Team GB's women get a second win in the football over Japan today - going well for them so far!

The scorelines in the women's football group F have been wild - Zambia having 7 goals but only 1 point as they lost 10-3 to Netherlands and tied 4-4 with China *_*
Happy to see the GB women's team actually taking part in the tournament (and doing well is nice as well x), I'd assumed we'd never see GB in the Olympic football again after the one-off in 2012. |

That Great Britain v Australia game was awesome! First time I can remember watching a full game of football.
Congratulations to the Aussie ladies on making it to the Semi Finals. |
