Florence + The Machine return to number one after Glastonbury
Just a week after being toppled, What Kind Of Man returns to number one for a ninth week. Subsequently, Ed Sheeran is held off from number one, setting for second place with Photograph. However, it can still boast a incredible 75-7-2 soar up the chart in 2 weeks. Sigma and Ella Henderson, or Sigla, descend one place to #3, while Years & Years climb one place to #4 with Shine. Last week's number one I Do falls to #5. Little Mix slide two places to #6 with Black Magic, King steps down 1 place to #7 and Together recovers one place to #8. Subsequently, it has now occupied all positions from #4 to #10. Jess Glynne enters at #9 with Don't Be So Hard On Yourself, and Mirror Man rounds off the top 10. Other entries The Felix Jaehn remix of Photograph enters at #28. Somewhat ironically, another Felix Jaehn remix, that of Cheerleader, was at that position last week. It is now at #31. After appearing on a Lloyds advert, Birdy enters at #42 with Wings. Giorgio Moroder has three entries this week, though one has been here before. 74 Is The New 24 is at #53, Right Here Right Now is at #84 while Tom's Diner re-enters at #88. Finally, I Knew You Were Trouble enters at #74 and Want To Want Me enters at #79. Big climbers and fallers Years & Years are this week's highest climber with Foundation, which goes up 32 places to #48, while Meghan Trainor is this week's biggest faller with Dear Future Husband, which falls down 28 places to #75. Both only barely managed to grab their respective highlight. Foundation did secure the highest climb, but Flashlight climbed only 5 places less and Can't Feel My Face 8 places less. But if you think Olly, Mikey and Emre had a hard time getting their honor, take a look at Dear Future Husband's struggle. Not one, not two, but three songs fell 27 places this week, just one less than Meghan Trainor did. These three songs are Talking Body by Tove Lo, Chandelier by Sia, and Love Is A Drug, who all crash from #36 to #63, from #54 to #81 and from #63 to #90 respectively. |

Hey Taylor Jago.
WHAT a stupendous run at number one there for 'What Kind of Man'! I don't quite love it as much as you (then again, who does maybe except the woman herself!) haha, but it was a really bold comeback single for her. Ooh a couple of older songs entering! I'm glad 'Wings' was the Birdy track chosen for this advert that is seemingly getting heavy rotation, as it's easily her best! Really beautiful. Glad to see 'I Knew You Were Trouble.' here as well, my favourite Taylor song! Still sounds incredible almost three years later. I see 'Want to Want Me' entering, I haven't really clicked with that but his new one 'Cheyenne' is fantastic! I urge you to check that one out as well. Fab stuff. Well, What Kind Of Man has had quite a few things going for it during the past four weeks (the album release and the Glastonbury, which both got it back to number one. I'm really hoping Wings can get back in the top 40 today! I Knew You Were Trouble enters simply because I've started listening to it a lot this week. I'll have a listen to Cheyenne once I get the time (aka when Chart Day is over). Thanks for commenting on my chart! |
