Danny bloody Dyer again :')

For actress, I'm actually thrilled Stephanie Davis has got a mention! She's a brilliant actress but never seems to get the credit she deserves because the whole CBB saga and her being fired is still in people's minds. I'd be happy with one of her, Emma Atkins, Lorraine Stanley or any of the Corrie three winning.

Eastenders making baffling choices again. I'm shocked none of the Slater women got a nod for Best Actress when you consider the year they had and the talent and popularity of the actresses. Kellie Bright deserves a nomination for the two-hander episode alone and if Danny Walters is up for Best Actor then Letitia Dean certainly should be there. At least they got Tamzin but Mel is not popular with viewers.

I'm backing Sally Ann Matthews who continues to near single handedly carry Coronation Street.

This BETTER be Emma's year for Best Actress after she was robbed last year.

Posted by: T’Seet 9th April 2019, 04:43 PM

I do think that the EE actress list is pretty fair but as Liam said there are many more that could have been included (Sharon, Linda, Jean-they even left Stacey out for once!)

Danny Dyer is baffling as he’s actually been shit all year. There have been much better actors over the past year.

Posted by: troylovesmusic 9th April 2019, 09:35 PM

I think overall the Eastenders nominations are ok I’m glad Zach Morris (Keegan) got a nomination hope he makes the shortlist. It’s not really a surprise they always put up Danny Dyer as he’s quite popular and seems to always make the shortlist and sometimes win in these public voted categories. I assume there saving Gillian (Jean) for next year also when her storyline kicks in more but it’s a bit ridiculous Bonnie (Carmel) never made the cut though I assume that’s because she’s left and they want people still in the show nominated . Ollie and Brody from Hollyoaks were robbed in the Best Actor category as well !

The actor playing Ollie has only turned 18 this year, so i'm guessing he'll be in the young actor's category

Sharon is a terrible actress though, she can't act she should never be nominated!

I am shocked that Adam Woodward is not up for best actor nomination, he is is my number one for winner of best actor this year! He has been fantastic!

Alison King for the actress win for me.

Oh I see that makes sense hopefully he’s nominated in the young actor category then . Isn’t the actor who plays Imram around the same age though as he’s been nominated?

I think Ijaz is older, certainly older than Aeden is anyway... I think he'd only need to be say 6 months older for him to be included in the 'Actor' rather than young actor category.

He will easily win that and rightfully so.

It's down to opinion but still you would have thought that if Sheanu has been a big storyline so far and if Danny Walters is up for Best Actor then Letitia should surely get a nomination too.

I voted Zack Morris for actor, Steph Davis for actress (Alison, Lucy and Lorraine would be great winners too, but I can lowkey see it being Lauren if not Lucy) and Emmerdale for soap as it's easily the most consistent, diversity goals x

If I could vote for the others I'd do:

Villain of the Year (panel-voted)
Nathan Sussex (Buster Smith, Hollyoaks)

Best Comedy Performance (panel-voted)
Patti Clare (Mary Cole, Coronation Street)

Best Newcomer (panel-voted)
Talia Grant (Brooke Hathaway, Hollyoaks)

Weird that I put it as best soap but didn't pick Emmerdale for anything else laugh.gif

Aedan Duckworth not being up for anything despite being at the forefront of the Hollyoaks abuse storyline... really? drama.gif

Won't say anything about Dee Dee basically receiving a nomination for sitting in a hospital bed for most of the year. ph34r.gif

So chuffed for Gillian there!

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 1st June 2019, 07:37 PM

Gillian better get something tonight as she has shown her greatness many times since she joined eastenders.

Posted by: Liаm 1st June 2019, 07:48 PM

Kara-Leah Fernandez could've given the best adult actors a run for their money, so glad she got Young Actor wub.gif

Also YAS at Gillian Wright *.*

Posted by: lewistgreen 1st June 2019, 08:16 PM

Been a long time coming for Sue Nicholls and well deserved!

Posted by: Liаm 1st June 2019, 08:27 PM

Omg Emmerdale are going home empty handed probs, there's no way they're getting storyline or soap! Lucy Pargeter will deffo be in the running for actress but I just can't see it.

Posted by: Jαsє 1st June 2019, 08:40 PM

YES!!! Delighted for Lucy wub.gif

Posted by: Liаm 1st June 2019, 08:41 PM

That was the toughest category for sure, any of them bar Lauren McQueen could have had that one but I'm glad Emmerdale got something!

Posted by: Andrew. 1st June 2019, 08:47 PM

That best storyline winner, really drama.gif it had one good episode then it switched to being about Johnny shagging Liz and Johnny being vile to Eva and Jenny.

At least it wasn't Danny

Posted by: Liаm 1st June 2019, 08:56 PM

Posted by: Calum 1st June 2019, 09:03 PM

Well deserved win for Hollyoaks! *.* Wasn't expecting that at all! Their storylines over the past year have been on point - particularly Ollie/Brody/Buster, Cleo, Lily, Brooke, Mandy and Imran's.

The Best Soap was very open this year.
Some of the soaps had good months last year but had started to trail as the year moved forward (Coronation Street).
Emmerdale while not as strong as othe ryears still had the Maya and Jacob storyline to keep viewers gripped.
EastEnders has a bad early 2018 and in fact most of 2018 overall and its only now it is showing signs of turning the corner.
Hollyoaks i don't watch, but obviously had enough high points for their viewers to vote so strongly as they did.

I am slightly disappointed that the Lucy Pargeter has won best actress ahead of the far superior Emma Atkins who i feel is by far Emmerdales strongest actress.
Wonderful that Gillian Wright picked up some recognition too as i feel it is deserved.
Poor Tameka Empson in EastEnders, she has been nominated for years and has yet to win best Comedy and that is disappointing as she has some extremely funny moments.
The Panels who decide such winners clearly do not agree.

Posted by: Medellíam 3rd June 2019, 05:20 PM

I was so thrilled to see Gillian win Best Female Dramatic Performance - I literally cheered out loud! So very well deserved!

Also very pleased to see Sue Nicholls win Outstanding Achievement for her portrayal of Audrey Roberts. I had a feeling she'd be awarded it as I had a look through the cast lists of each soap and checked out who had reached certain milestones.

A bit nocheer.gif at Aidan's suicide winning two awards, mainly for Shayne Ward's smug face, although we at least didn't have to put up with his pity party of "but I worked so hard!!!". As Andrew said, outside of one episode, it just didn't do the storyline the justice it deserved.

Posted by: troylovesmusic 3rd June 2019, 06:37 PM

I think Zack Morris was robbed of winning something he had a brilliant year . I was happy for either Eastenders or Hollyoaks winning Best Soap I do think Eastenders has been the more consistent of the two lately though and somewhat deserved it more .

Posted by: Liаm 3rd June 2019, 08:01 PM

Yeah I was a bit :/ about Aiden's suicide getting Best Storyline too, the episode it won Best Episode for you can't deny but there's absolutely no way that it was the best storyline in all of soap this year! Of course Alison King was award worthy as always and also the troubles Jenny and Johnny had as he struggled with it were good but I don't think it deserved the storyline award at all.

Posted by: Wall 3rd June 2019, 08:14 PM

Hollyoaks has been phenomenal this year tbh
