Bloody hell what a way to win the UK Open with a 170 checkout. Nathan Aspinell take a bow. If he isn't in the Premier League next year then they must be something wrong with the organisers. Sheer bottle he had today. In the Top 16/, seeded for the World Matchplay. Wow. One of my favourite darts moments this decade.

Barney is getting divorced (maybe that is why he is not quite focused lately) Although sad to see how his form has dipped recently.

Raymond van Barneveld has retired with immediate effect after a 7-1 Premier League loss to Michael van Gerwen in Rotterdam.

The Dutchman's elimination from the tournament was confirmed on Wednesday after his defeat by Daryl Gurney.

After a rousing reception in front of a packed home crowd, reigning world champion Van Gerwen raced to victory.

"For me, I've made a decision, I'm done now," the 51-year-old said in his post-match interview with Sky Sports.

"I don't want the pain anymore. It's good to see that everyone loves you but they don't have one single clue what I'm going through.

"It's pain every single week for for the last three or four years. There's never a feeling, apart from winning the World Cup with Michael [Van Gerwen], like 'Hey, Ray, come on, we're back'."

Gerwyn Price says he will contest his £21,500 fine and suspended three-month ban for his behaviour at the Grand Slam of Darts in November 2018.

Well those antics he did in the Grand Slam of Darts final against Gary Anderson was certainly a step too far.
