Lukas Graham look to be cruising towards a third week at #1 with their breakthrough smash hit 7 Years. Hoping to enter the top 40 this week include 'I Took a Pill in Ibiza' by Mike Posner, 'Faded' by Alan Walker, and maybe some songs boosted by the BRIT Awards taking place on Wednesday, which includes performances from the likes of Adele, Justin Bieber, Coldplay and James Bay. Additionally, new peaks are possible for Zara Larsson's 'Lush Life', twenty one pilots' 'Stressed Out' and G-Eazy's 'Me, Myself & I'.

The BRIT Awards will no doubt have a huge impact on the album chart even with only one full day of sales counting after they're aired. Adele will be looking to hold her #1 crown again, and expect Coldplay, Jess Glynne, James Bay, Justin Bieber and Little Mix among others to get decent boosts. Speaking of the BRITs, Jack Garratt won the Critics' Choice award this year, and is hoping his debut album 'Phase' will follow in the footsteps of almost every previous winner so far and have his album enter at #1.... or will he suffer the fate of Jessie J and peak at #2 behind Adele?

Breakdown of the week
- Saturday and Sunday: Information on Twitter from MintRoyale only. Please do not make requests, we do not have any information other than what's posted.
- Monday: OCC Top 100 + Radio 1 Chart Update 5:30pm to 5:45pm.
- Tuesday: Top 40 update as and when we receive them with requests, this is NOT 100% guaranteed however. The OCC may publish sales flashes of their own accord but likewise, this is not guaranteed. Twitter and social media is your friend for today. Please post any information you find with a source. Do not nag for updates, we will post a top 40 update if we receive one.
- Wednesday: Top 40 update from Music Week from 5:45, and potential top 5 sales but this is not guaranteed.
- Thursday: See Tuesday.

Other notes (please read)
- **NEW** You may make requests Tuesday to Thursday but outside the top 40, specific positions will not be revealed (unless deemed necessary by a mod).
- Please do not demand a midweek update, one will be posted as and when we receive the information. Patience is a virtue.
- Sales information will be given out as deemed necessary by a moderator, please bear this in mind when making requests. Most requests for sales will be ignored.
- To keep everyone in the loop of all chart action, please refer to the iTunes and Spotify threads.

Mint Royale tweeted Jack Garratt is #1 + I Took a Pill is top 40

not very funny tweets as per usual

Mint Royale ‏@MintRoyale 3h3 hours ago
Jack "the hat but not a hat like James "the hat" Bay wears" Garratt looks like he might get the number 1 album next week from Adele.

I'm not going to even give Mike Posner's "I took a pill in Ibiza" single a polite listen, but it's going to chart.

That's awesome for Jack! I hope he stays Top 5 but I reckon he'll be kicked out by the BRITs effect

BRIT effect will only have a day and a half this time as opposed to it usually having three and a half days to do so

If it's #12 on iTunes and #19 on Spotify, it will definitely go top 40, could even go top 20

Does anyone know whether any of the Brits live performances are being released to download this year?
Of course they're less likely to impact the Top 40 than before even if they are, I was just wondering.

I read somewhere (here) that they're being made available on Google Play like they were last year.

Oh wow at Jack Garratt! Thought he was going to be on course for like #9. Would be quite cool if he could hang onto the top spot, he deserves much better than the complete non-impact he's had on the singles chart.

Not to say I told you so, primarily because in the end I didn't actually tell anyone, but I really did expect Jack to be doing as well as he is right now. I was baffled by Bray/Seven expecting so little of him given, well... even Michael Kiwanuka did enough for a top 5 album. If you're vaguely credible and release in the months immediately after the Sound of then you're going to get a good first week even if that's all you do get.

I'm thinking of getting Jack's album in the week. Didn't really know much about him until I saw him on Sunday Brunch this morning. His songs sound pretty good.

Well it didn't work for James Blake and Jack Garratt is quite similar to him and has done even worse in the singles chart. Then again James Blake didn't win the Sound of.../BRITs I guess.

I think recent years have shown us that the difference between winning the Sound of and even coming second can be pretty extreme. Same for critics choice winner vs nominee.

The album is very good, I really hope he gets the #1 spot, although it's gonna be difficult after Adele wins all her Brits

He's managed to do quite well on hype in the first couple of days - I always assumed he would do considering his team have worked so well on building such hype, but I can't see him even holding up that well at the end of the week, let alone next week.
