Radio 1 Chart Day information
On Sunday 5th July Radio 1 are hosting something special for the last chart held on Sunday's, Each show from 6am - 4pm will host the 20 top selling singles of the past 10 years So, To be clearer Dev will have the top 20 best selling singles from 2005 - 2008 Matt Edmonson will have top 20 best singles form 2009 - 2011 Alice Lavine will have top 20 best selling singles from 2012 - 2014 I would like to host a countdown simular to the end of year chart or the One hit wonder day. f you would like to be involed or have any thoughts on the matter Put down below. I will update this post with the time slots of who wants to be doing it etc once I get feedback on my idea. interesting!
although does it really take 3 hours to do a top 20?? Seeing as the schedule is 6:00 Dev / 10:00 Matt Edmondson / 13:00 Alice Levene / 16:00 Clara Amfo, it would make more sense to do a top 40. I also doubt it'll actually start at 6:00 anyway, although I said the same of the one hit wonders show which meant I missed nearly the first hour of it. and I'll be happy to host an hour although I'll have to check if/when I'm Free. |

There is no way I'm going to sit on my bum from 6am to 7pm
 Jade will be in there with a shot  I reckon they will play a track every 15 mins or so, among their usual stuff. |

I'll be off work for 2 weeks from that Sunday so I'd definetely be up for hosting an hour or taking one of the years, probably from 10am onwards as I won't be up that early

How are they going to work this, the top 20 of the three years combined as a whole or individual top 20s per year? I imagine it's the former, which would be a shame as I'd love to hear them year by year.
Will definitely listen nonetheless if I'm around, that will be quite an emotional day or chart fans

I'm going to be away all weekend for my anniversary but at this point I'm almost more excited for getting home on Monday and reliving this thread/listening to the music on iplayer. I loved following the one hit wonders and this is going to be even better because most songs are going to have retained their familiarity.

Sounds fun! Although 3 hours to play 20 songs means there's surely gonna be plenty of filler :/
I'll be absent for most of the show I'm afraid but am willing to take the final 3pm-4pm slot
