Hopefully Gene Pitney gets some kind of boost from tonight's top of the Pops 1989 premieres as his hit with Marc Almond of Tainted Love fame was a big No1 song in that year.

Selena not beating Celeste is not the bestest sign for her album

Selena not beating Celeste is not the bestest sign for her album

Selena should go Top 10 (Overall) with this Album though which will be the first time for her.

Personally think 'Rare' is a poor title for an Album as for some it could imply it contains rare cuts (eg David Bowie's 'Rare' and others).

Posted by: Bjork 10th January 2020, 09:13 AM

just top 10 would be a poor result imho she should be fighting for that #1

Posted by: IANMUSIC24 10th January 2020, 09:50 AM

With the low sales surely she could be number 1 this week? I’ve listened to it and it’s pretty good.

Posted by: timjimlee 10th January 2020, 10:33 AM

I would have thought Top 5 is achievable but not #1 especially with Stormzy and Lewis Capaldi Albums still selling at around £5.

'Just top 10' would be higher than any of her previous 5 albums charted tongue.gif she's not an album artist at all.

Having listened to the album practically all day and seeing the feedback online i think it will be her highest peaking album,Would really like it if she could manage a top 3.

Oh, a wild new Eminem album out of nowhere again magic.gif the mids thread got locked but:

QUOTE(WhoOdyssey @ Jan 17 2020, 08:13 AM) *
I think it might come down to physicals, of which Eminem will have none of.

'Kamikaze' had no physicals in its first week either and that did 55k first week lol ~ Eminem hasn't missed #1 this century, I somehow don't see Courteeners / Bombay Bicycle Club denying him this time. At least it'll still be unpredictable seeing where the other new releases land, very busy week for new albums!

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 17th January 2020, 11:32 AM

Ah fair enough, didn't realise how much Kamikaze sold laugh.gif

Posted by: Steve201 18th January 2020, 04:18 PM

Can see Eminem doing sox 30-40k Max, The Courtneers & BBC will do 15-25k and I'm really not sure how much Halsey will do could be more than the latter but significantly less that Eminem. Her album seems to be anticipated!

Posted by: Bré 18th January 2020, 04:31 PM

Not really sure what to expect from Halsey's album - doing well on downloads clearly but it doesn't seem to be doing as well as Selena did last week on streaming (not helped by being pushed down by Eminem and Mac Miller's album bombs ofc but I think it's still not doing as well even ignoring that based on her Apple Music positions). Probably still has a good chance of being a new album chart peak for her but not sure if it'll be top 5.

Bombay Bicycle Club vs. Courteeners still seems hard to call - Courteeners are doing better on iTunes and Apple Music but Bombay Bicycle Club are doing better on Spotify and Amazon's sales chart (their songs have also been getting better numbers on YouTube than Courteeners' for what it's worth).

Posted by: Steve201 18th January 2020, 04:38 PM

Also a broader base will be interested in BBC compared to a slightly older crowd of fanbase buys for The Courteeners.
Not forgetting Lewis will do 15k or over again.

Posted by: IANMUSIC24 18th January 2020, 07:21 PM

In America Eminem is set to be number 1 with Halsey and Mac Miller trailing behind at number 2 and 3.

Posted by: Bjork 19th January 2020, 04:00 PM

right now
1 Eminem
2 Kiwanuka - Graham Norton effect
3 Lewis
5 Halsey
6 Dermot Kennedy
7 Courteneers
8 Bombay
10 Mac Miller

surprised Courteneers and Bombay are not doing better

Pet Shop Boys 24k
Twin Atlantic 9k
J Hus 8k

My predictions...

Posted by: Jordan Lee 24th January 2020, 11:05 AM

J Hus could be a big streamer so I have a feeling his sales might be more on the 15K mark.

Posted by: Medellíam 24th January 2020, 11:56 AM

I could see J Hus clearing 20k tbh. His debut album opened with 18k, made from 7k sales and 11k streams. He doesn't have physical sales this time (but he wouldn't have sold many any way) and I think his streaming will increase a fair bit.

Pet Shop Boys will probably sell around the 15k mark again as per their last two albums whilst Twin Atlantic will probably be lucky to sell 5k.

PSB are scheduled to be out promoting the album a lot over the week, including some live performances on the tube, and this seems to be their best reviewed album in awhile, it may go higher.

Interested to see how Louis' album will do now considering his recent singles have done absolutely nothing - I expect he'll still manage to chart higher than Liam purely because it's not Q4 any more but don't see him having much longevity.

they don't even mention this being their last album for the label

I love how Harry’s performance has had the biggest impact on the albums and singles chart thus far😁

Posted by: Steve201 18th February 2020, 11:32 PM

Thought Harry's album would get a big boost as it's the fourth song now that the public will be aware of from the album. It is a great song as well of course.

Pity Psychodrama & Kiwanuka haven't had bigger boosts.

Posted by: Bré 19th February 2020, 12:35 AM

I don't know if the boost for Dave might be a little muted by the fact he already had one big boost from an award win (the Mercury) which kind of shrinks the pool of people who might be checking it out just because it won an award - still cool to see it back in the top 10 at least.

Posted by: Steve201 19th February 2020, 12:43 AM

I would argue the people who watch the Mercury Awards are a bit different to the ones that watch the Brits. Tonight's would have been much more mainstream with families watching and hearing him for the first time(not that someone's granny or mum will go out and buy Psychodrama after seeing him tonight but the audience is what I mean lol).

Their last album in 2017 was #2 with 23.5K beaten by Lana's LFL by 1K

by comparison, the last Deacon Blue album went to #13 with 4.9K sales in 2016

Could yet still be that Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott finish above Deacon Blue overall but there is an upward trend with Deacon Blue's chart positions and given the reviews of "City Of Love" suspect they will make the Top 10 again for the first time since 1994 !

The Shires' last 2 albums both debuted at #3 with similar sales (14.9k and 14.3k). Niall's debut also entered at #3 with higher sales of 22.7k although notably that was well into Q4. I hope he'll be able to get the #1 but wouldn't be surprised if it was pretty close.

Hope Four Tet can get a new chart peak, he only has one top 40 album so far which got to #35 (last couple of releases both got to #48).

Might give the new Baxter Drury a spin this weekend; the last album was great.

Just for reference how much did the last Weeknd album sell? Think Morrissey may have a chance...

Posted by: Bjork 20th March 2020, 09:07 AM

sure the #1 is for The Weeknd to take this week, no competition
Morrissey has no chance, his last album bombed

Posted by: Bjork 20th March 2020, 09:21 AM

just checked and the last proper album by The Weeknd was Starboy which sold 36k on week1, 15K of which were streams... so with just those streams alone he'd be #1 this week... his last EP counted for the album charts and did worst though (16k in total on week 1), but was not a proper album... also the current album has been preceded by Blinding Lights, his biggest hit ever

Morrissey was traditionally always selling very well, and his 2017 album sold 25,728 copies, 7K alone on vinyl/cassette
but his album last year only did 8K, which was a huge surprise to everyone, I was expecting him to do 8K on vinyl alone

Posted by: Mart!n 20th March 2020, 11:03 AM

I think Album sales are going to be poor for new releases, Coronavirus hits physical music supply chain and release schedules

The Weeknd should be fine seeing as most of his sales will be SEA anyhow, but pure album sales all around will most likely be the lowest they've ever been.

There's an article about the return of 80s influenced pop music on BBC News that mentions The Midnight several times, it may be something to do with that possibly.

I'd love to see The Midnight having some chart success, not sure I can quite see it though.

Not sure how much I'm expecting Gerry to open with but I think it'll be a decent opening. I suspect he'll have good vinyl sales and streaming, perhaps a similar opening to Dua?

Could be in for three weeks at #1, perhaps even four (I think its fourth week could see competition from The D-Day Darlings).

Posted by: ___∆___ 17th April 2020, 09:43 AM

I think Gerry will have a really strong opening week - he’s really supported indies with signed copies etc., which sold out weeks ago. He has 3 vinyls (Standard, HMV exclusive and Webstore exclusive) so should have good sales from those.

I think she has a good chance of getting to #1 again I think, the next couple of weeks are quiet but then in May there are a fair amount of big releases (The 1975 and The Killers look to get comfortable #1s, possibly Bon Jovi as well).

he seems to do well, by standards of indie performers, I expect we'll see 2-3 songs break the lower half of the singles chart too.

Posted by: Bré 🐠 17th April 2020, 11:33 AM

I've been expecting to see a Gerry Cinnamon song making the top 40 for a while now but he's kept stalling lower down the top 100, maybe the album release could finally push something to crack the top 40? ('Where We're Going' has been hanging around the low top 100 for a few weeks with a peak of #67 so far, I think that's my favourite of his songs that have charted so would be good to see it at least re-peaking). Though that didn't quite happen for Sam Fender.

The album should definitely be #1 anyway!

newup.png 1 Dua Lipa - Future Nostalgia

Good move from Dua’s team to reduce the album to £4.99 on iTunes to try and get some extra weeks at #1 officially - guess they know sales will be low due to the lack of new releases so it’s a chance to clock up some more weeks at the top.

so the Lewis EP counts for the album charts I guess?

How many tracks do you need to be included in the album chart? (or is it length?)

There have been a few EPs on the iTunes album chart which haven't appeared in the official chart.

Posted by: Bjork 15th May 2020, 09:08 AM

I never remember the rules with EPs
I think it's 4 songs minimum or 25 minutes
but there is also a minimum price I think

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 15th May 2020, 09:09 AM

Honestly if it is eligible, I imagine Lewis could push that to #1 if he wanted to laugh.gif

Posted by: Bjork 15th May 2020, 09:48 AM

I think it qualifies as it has 6 tracks
only thing Im not sure is the price, but actually not sure how price is a factor now with streaming?

Posted by: dan-G 15th May 2020, 11:03 AM

Avicii had a six track EP which didn’t count because of its short runtime (17 minutes). I see Lewis’ EP is 23 minutes which I think is still too short to be chart eligible, I think it has to be 25 minutes?

How likely are The 1975 to beat KSI for number 1 album next Friday? I've heard people say that KSI has a bigger chance of being number 1 and i really hope thats not the case.

Posted by: dan-G 15th May 2020, 12:16 PM

I can't see how KSI would beat The 1975 - he may have stronger streaming but surely The 1975 have many more fans willing to actually buy the record? And they'd have good streams too.

Posted by: Bjork 15th May 2020, 12:18 PM

let me check the rules... it says:

Over 25 minutes OR more than four songs where the format does not qualify as a “Maxi” single or remix single as defined by singles eligibility.

so cannot be remixes of 1 song... has to be 4 different songs minimum.

so the Lewis Ep should qualify... not sure about the Avicii one, which one do you mean? was it 6 different songs?

it also says minimum price of 3.75 for digital albums. But thats the dealer price not what the buyer pays.

Avicii had an EP titled 'Avīci (01)' (there were meant to be three but that never happened for sadly obvious reasons) - it had 6 tracks including Lonely Together but it wasn't chart eligible.

Posted by: Bjork 15th May 2020, 02:57 PM

^on paper the Avicii EP looks elegible cos the rule says >4tracks OR >25min
maybe it was the price that was the issue...

Posted by: Bré 15th May 2020, 04:13 PM

The small print of the OCC's rules is purely for show, there's little point trying to work out their logic. We'll find out if the Lewis EP is chart eligible or not on Monday. x

Cool to see Jason Isbell so high up, would like to see him get a first top 10 album.

Posted by: Bjork 15th May 2020, 05:52 PM

was kinda surprised to see Jason Isbell so high, I thought nobody knew him in the UK

Posted by: Bré 15th May 2020, 05:58 PM

His last 2 albums charted at #17 and #26 so he does have a little bit of a fanbase here!

He's basically the only country artist that I listen to (although I feel like his music at least recently is more rock than country), 'Be Afraid' off this new album is a great song.

XTC had three consecutive albums named after a lyric from the previous one. They said the first two were accidental so they did another one on purpose.

What a bunch of unknown acts I hardly know in the top 10, apart from Janet Devlin.

Lady Gaga will hang on for a second week with paltry sales.

It's been a while since his last album so it's hard to tell what his sales will be like, but I think Bob Dylan will be in with a shot!

Posted by: Bjork 5th June 2020, 12:51 PM

this is like the first Dylan album of original songs in ages, maybe 7/8 years, last albums have been (bad) covers...
think he still has the dedicated fans, I'd say easy #1 for him...

although I just checked and Amazon says the vinyl is out in July
his official site says the same but also says that if you order the vinyl, you get the mp3s on release week already
does that mean the vinyls already count on week 1 even if not released til July?

In the iTunes Albums chart,
64 NEW The Sweet - Hits

This album is re-recordings of the old hits by a later version of "The Sweet", which only included Andy Scott from the original line-up. If you want the original recordings buy "Action - the ultimate story".

301 NEW The Sweet - Action! The Ultimate Story
562 NEW The Sweet - The Best of Sweet
656 NEW The Sweet - Desolation Boulevard (New Extended Version)

My favourite track - Fox on the Run.

The BBC adds,
Steve Priest, the bassist and co-founder of glam rock band Sweet, has died at the age of 72.

He was known for his playful humour and outrageous costumes when Sweet played hits like Blockbuster and Little Willy on Top of the Pops in the 1970s.

Priest also sang the memorable lines "there's a girl in the corner that no-one ignores, 'cos she thinks she's the passionate one," in Ballroom Blitz.

In total, they scored 13 Top 20 hits in the 1970s, with songs like Teenage Rampage, Hell Raiser, Wig-Wam Bam and the number one single Blockbuster.

It would be annoying as it would def hinder his total, but yeh Dylan would be a good shout too!

Liam up to #1 - should be an easy 3rd official #1 for him this week?

Liam should be #1 I think he’s got a big fanbase as it is hasn’t she?

Can actually see him selling over 20k.

Coming for an Album boost surely next week in the album chart.

Delta Goodrem’s 2003 debut Innocent Eyes at 183 *.* <3

Not sure what’s propelled this back. She did a live video with Gary Barlow yesterday which I guess could have generated those three sales.

Vera Lynn is at 7,9, and 19 on the albums.

I think she could get some entires officially next week in the top 40 although I imagine today will be one of the biggest days for impact.

Posted by: Liam.k. 18th June 2020, 05:01 PM

I imagine the impact will be limited due to the boost she experienced earlier in the year. 100 will probably still re-enter the Top 40 though.

Didn't the last Black Eyed Peas album miss the Top 100 though?

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 19th June 2020, 11:16 PM

It did, though this one should do better internationally as it's coming off the back of a reasonably big hit in America

Posted by: Bré 19th June 2020, 11:21 PM

They've basically pivoted entirely into the Latin pop lane, which will do wonders for them worldwide but not so much in the UK.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 19th June 2020, 11:24 PM

It wouldn't surprise me if they perform on The Voice when the live shows return, it *may* give it a brief appearance in the chart.

An easy #1 for Paul Weller; his last album opened with 24k and had decent longevity for him so I think this one should open with 20k+ too.

Posted by: Bré 3rd July 2020, 03:06 PM

Yeah Paul Weller will definitely be #1 - interested to see where Pop Smoke's posthumous album lands, a little surprised to see it in the top 10 on iTunes, obviously will be one that gets the vast majority of its numbers from streams (already has 13 songs in the top 100 on Apple and all songs in the top 200). Could possibly have a shot at #2?

Japanese-language album from BTS has released today, straight to #1 of course

Posted by: Bré 14th July 2020, 07:25 PM

Only one actually new song ('Your Eyes Tell') on this BTS release it seems ('Stay Gold' and 'Lights' are exclusive to the Japanese version too but both were already released, the rest of the album is just Japanese versions of songs from 'MAP OF THE SOUL : 7'). It'll definitely only be a purchase for the most hardcore of their fanbase, will be interesting to see how much of an impact they can make with only 3 days of sales.

Can imagine Ellie has a chance of no1 next Friday she will need around 15k, can only see Juice Wrld holding up!

It's been a poor campaign by her (partly due to the C19) but her name power should be Enough considering she has had a nunber one in the past year in the singles chart.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 17th July 2020, 06:56 PM

Yeah I can't see her not doing it, I'd say the main other chance would be perhaps Bob Dylan's vinyl release (no idea how well Boyzlife will do)

Posted by: Bré 17th July 2020, 07:23 PM

Lianne La Havas' last album opened at #2 with just short of 15k sales, I wouldn't completely rule out her being a contender if her fanbase has stuck with her over the years since that last release? I'd be surprised if Ellie comes anywhere near what her last album did in its first week considering how terribly her last few singles have done, but then again her sales would probably need to tank quite spectacularly for her to not be at least the highest new entry if not #1. Bob Dylan returning to #1 from vinyl sales actually does seem plausible as well tbh.

Posted by: Steve201 17th July 2020, 07:45 PM

Yeh Lianne could be top 5, I loved her first album but have t been fussed on this one, might give it a spin at some stage this week!

Fontaines D.C. should be able to get at least #2 this week, would be nice to see them get a #1 album but I'm not sure I see their fanbase having expanded enough for them to beat Taylor's 2nd week sales.

The album chart will be interesting over the next months with so many new releases that were held back!

I imagine the next #1s will be Taylor for a few weeks, then Biffy, The Killers and Katy Perry

I reckon Fontaines could beat Taylor thanks to the physicals

Alanis is doing pretty well, looks like she should be at least top 10, even maybe top 5
Her last 2 studio albums (Flavors of Entanglement and Havoc & Brihgt Lights) both peaked outside the top 10,#15 and #12 respectively,
so could be great if this goes top 10

As their last 3 albums haven't made the top 100 here, probably not unfortunately

What did Erasures last album sell first week?

Posted by: Bjork 21st August 2020, 12:20 PM

was just checking that, the last Erasure album did nearly 9K on week 1 back in May 2017 (Erasure - 8,858 sales)

At their peak between 1988 and 1994, Erasure - keyboards player Vince Clarke and singer Andy Bell - racked up five straight No.1 albums, with four studio albums and the compilation Pop! The First 20 Hits all ruling the roost. Although they have remained popular, they subsequently missed the Top 10 with eight consecutive studio albums, from 2000's Loveboat to 2014's The Violet Flame but their 2015 compilation Always: The Very Best Of Erasure reached No.9 in 2015, and the pair now have their first Top 10 studio album for 20 years with 17th studio effort World Be Gone debuting at No.6 (8,858 sales). It is their 20th Top 75 entry, and their ninth Top 10 album in a chart career spanning nearly 31 years.

but I remember it was a pledge album, not sure if that can distort sales

Posted by: Bjork 21st August 2020, 12:25 PM

so Erasure could maybe be #2? Killers sure will be #1 even though with lower figures than in the past
I mean the crazy opening figures of Sam's Town or Day & Age are impossible nowadays...

this is what they wrote on MW when their last album was released:
Wonderful Wonderful sold 51,756 copies, including 2,711 from sales-equivalent streams, last week. Their 2004 debut Hot Fuss opened at number six (29,349 sales) and took a further 31 weeks to top the chart. The rest of their albums were instant number ones – and on much higher first week sales than Wonderful Wonderful. They are: Sam's Town (2006 on sales of 268,946), Day & Age (2008, 200,299 sales) and Battle Born (2012, 93,989 sales). Also registering Top 10 success with compilations Sawdust (2009) and Direct Hits (2013), The Killers have sold a combined tally of 6,413,014 album sales in the UK, with Hot Fuss (2,223,300), Sam's Town (1,532,139) and Day & Age (1,286,335) all surpassing the million mark.

so their opening figures:
Hot fuzz 29K
Sams Town 268K
Day & Age 200K
Battle 93K
Wonderful 51K

Thanks for the info.

If Erasures last album did 9k, itll be around the same for this one as the single was heavily played on radio 2 (Hey Now). But Taylor and Pop Smoke might dislodge it from no2 if that turns out correct.

The Killers are now #1 on both Apple Music and iTunes!

Posted by: pippa 22nd August 2020, 02:21 PM

The Killers should safely land another Number 1 for them.
A Number 2 for Erasure would be good for them even with the enivitable collossal drop the following week

He only has 2 songs in the top 200 on Apple Music, he's not going to be anywhere near #1, probably low top 10 at absolute most (his last album only got to #30 although that was a midweek release deep into Q4 so not really comparable). I'd assume The Rolling Stones are most likely to be #1 indeed.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 5th September 2020, 12:29 AM

Would Goats Head Soup 2020 be a new entry, or re-entry for the original?

Posted by: Bjork 5th September 2020, 06:45 AM

on Apple albums:
1 Nines
2+62 Big Sean
3+18 6ix9ine
9 Declan McKenna
82 The Rollings
91 Hurts

Rollings not doing that well on streaming or even downloads but they'll be an easy #1 thanks to the physicals
Wouldn't be surprised if they're #1 just on their vinyls alone biggrin.gif

It's a re-issue but has lots of extras even new unreleased songs I believe, so all hardcore RS fans will buy

The album is #9 on Apple Music which is really good for an indie act of his size.

And perhaps! laugh.gif

Glass Animals did a lot better although probably a terrible comparison but in the UK Declan’s last album did better than GAs!

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 5th September 2020, 03:23 PM

Well Glass Animals also do venues double the size of Declan! #9 on Apple is about as high as I'd expect, Sports Team for example (who do the same venues as Declan) got to around #30 on there.

Posted by: Steve201 5th September 2020, 04:40 PM

Yeh maybe a poor comparison - didn’t really look at GAs as that big until this album

Posted by: Bré 11th September 2020, 01:54 PM

What is a Roachford and why is it ahead of Everything Everything xx

Hoping EE can get a new highest charting album (they've peaked at #5 with 2 of their previous albums), their last album debuted with 8.6k so if they can pull off similar numbers again then they will be able to beat everyone except the other new entries (assuming Pop Smoke will again be the highest non new album and he is down to only selling ~8k a week). Obviously expecting Doves to be #1 but #2 for EE doesn't seem entirely implausible? That said, the album before that did over 10k so maybe their opening sales could decline by a few thousand again idk ~

EE don't seem as big as they were previously so I'd be inclined to say they've peaked career performance wise. There also doesn't seem to be as much hype for this album. I wouldn't bet against a third #5 album for them!

Posted by: Bré 11th September 2020, 02:44 PM

Oh yeah for sure they're not as 'big' a name as they once were, just banking on the possibility that they might get beyond #5 this time purely because the sales needed to do so will be so pathetic. x

I find it hard to gauge if the hype for them has really subsided that much further since their last album, neither of them produced anything close to a hit single (I guess they have received less Radio 1 support this time which won't help but they don't strike me as an act who get many 'casual' sales anyway). Will be a bit sad if their opening sales take another big dive as I think the singles from this album have all been among their best work to date - not heard the album yet but if the rest of it is as good as the singles have been for me it could be comfortably my album of the year.

His biggest hit came 31 years ago so no wonder you don’t know him - here’s the TOTP performance when it was peaking in the chart - it’s his biggest hit.

His current song is playlisted on radio 2 ‘Gonna Be The One’ is actually a pretty decent track!

EE don't seem as big as they were previously so I'd be inclined to say they've peaked career performance wise. There also doesn't seem to be as much hype for this album. I wouldn't bet against a third #5 album for them!

Well I don't wanna say I called it... but I called it x

If Sufjan is digital only at the moment I'd guess the album will peak whenever the physical version is released.

Good to see Joji in the top 10 here, hoping the album can make the overall top 10 for the week.

I’ve seen John Lennons album promoted on the news so that’s quite good promotion.

Wonder if he could do similar sales to Queen this week. I imagine their fanbases will be likely to go and buy the actual CD which will work in his favour but it depends on the strong streams that Headie will get and D-Block tbh they’re quite the streamers too. I think I’d put those as the top 3 with Travis also in the top 5.

I’m glad that we’re looking at another decent for 2020 week of sales though regardless of who’s at #1.

Posted by: Bré 10th October 2020, 12:01 AM

D-Block Europe are underperforming on Apple with only 3 songs in the top 50 (compared to Headie having 12 of the top 50, 13 counting 'Only You Freestyle' appearing twice at the moment although these usually get combined after a day or so). They typically do worse on Spotify as well. Have a feeling this will only be a low top 5 or so for them unless the sales for #3 are really low again.

Rooting for Headie to get a #1 album here although I wouldn't mind if John Lennon gets there instead. Not too sure what to expect from his sales, it looks like this is just a compilation with no previously unreleased material on it (just remasters), but no doubt it'll still be in high demand among Beatles collectors and it is well timed for what would have been Lennon's 80th birthday.

No new tracks (for obvious reasons) but they are remixed (again!) and the deluxe version has some surround mixes which I guess will appeal to some people.

Easy no1 for The Vamps this week, chosen a perfect week. Poor album though sadly.

The Vamps falling quickly on iTunes. They are already number 4 behind Travis.

Posted by: GhoulOdyssey 17th October 2020, 07:28 PM

Honestly at this point I'm pretty sure itunes album sales are so negligible to matter laugh.gif I mostly just post them here to see what new releases I may have missed

Posted by: Tefo 17th October 2020, 07:45 PM

Of course being download number one album these days you won't do more than 1-2k during the week. But that doesn't mean we can't use the chart as a proof of how tragically frontloaded Vamps album is laugh.gif

The Vamps should easily get it this week with fairly decent sales, unless you mean the week after? But even then there is Bruce Springsteen and Nothing But Thieves

To be honest I'm not really sure if The Vamps get the #1 album. I just feel somebody else might just creep in, if they do I can't see them selling over 13-14k, just have to wait and see I suppose, bit lower than Headie One I suppose. Just judging it by the current Top 5 sales

Posted by: dan-G 17th October 2020, 08:19 PM

The Vamps fanbase will be out in full force with multi buying - I'd be surprised if they don't manage to make #1 given the complete lack of competition.
