Top 100 for the 17th April 2021

Pete's Chart Commentary
With two non-movers at the top you may think that this week wasn't a particularly exciting week, however this was actually the closest-run #1 race so far for me this year, and the Top 3 were in fact the other way round at the start of the week. BJSC hype however has kept Summer in Berlin atop my chart, paving the way for an even bigger plummet when it becomes a shock DNQ later on in the week. At #3 we have a new entry from The Snuts, which automatically becomes their highest-charting entry to date, outpeaking Somebody Loves You which falls further out of the Top 10 than it climbed into it last week. It makes way for VIZE's third Top 10 single in the space of a year.

Lower down we actually have quite a few new entries, including a devut for Ben Howard who I really haven't paid any attention to up until now but this one is incredibly funky. KT Tunstall also bags herself another Top 20 with an interesting dance collaboration, and some more worship makes its way it courtesy of Ellie Holcomb and Maverick City Music. All these new entries mean that the wall of songs which all climbed a couple of places last week all fall a couple of places this week, with the exception of the older hits which continue to have ACR-esque drops. Janieck was also hoping to make the Top 40 this week but remarkably stalls at #41 for a second week in a row.

Fireworks is stil growing on me! Tom will probably begin to sink down my chart from multiple listens on the Chart Show though. Thanks James!

Summer In Berlin is a good entry, though semi 1 was a bit of a weirdy overall, anything could happen!

New peak for Fireworks! Ten Tonnes havng a huge run!

And Lucia hanging in another week

I've cherrypicked a track or two, like Firgas & Legover, and that one's quite pleasant.

My eyes merged Janiek and Amy McDonald and for a minute I thought you'd gone for Jane McDonald. Oops!

Nice to see Alice Merton's new song bubbling under! "Vertigo" is one of her best yet.
