There was another song that got only 1 point in the semi as well (Martina's 'Idi Leđa Mi Okreni', an early Herzebania entry which I believe was an intentional attempt to get 0 but picked up 1 point from Pavel lmao).

I really feel like this is just never going to happen, one person always comes in to 'ruin' it

I think (not discounting your effort Dan) that all of the sub-10 ones between III and XX (there were quite a few) have been missed out, I assume because of the format of the Songs Of thread. Such wonders as Guy Sebastian's Angels Brought Me Here and a duet between Miley and Billy Ray Cyrus *_*

I stopped this from happening in the final with Shadeux's Roo PURELY BECAUSE I thought we were all still in on the joke, it would've got none had I known my fellow shadeurs weren't planning to vote for it :x

I feel like an obvious novelty/weird entry won't work for this, there's always some (like me oops) that see the joke of it. It needs to be something completely non-descript and unmemorable in every sense of the word, and even then that could sound 'nice' to someone else's ears...

Put italics or bold codes inbetween it, the algorithm put the non-existent text in bold, which it assumes is a seperate entity to the word, therefore the word can be typed. Quote this and see how I've done it...

Yeah I can't really see this happening, I think the best chance would be like a totally MOR male vocal in a foreign language that was a forgotten album track, but even then it will appeal to somebody I expect because the tastes in BJSC are so varied. Something that's a deliberate attempt will always fail because I feel like if it seems obvious that nobody likes it or will point it, someone will ruin it or pity point it

It was removed from sale iirc...because a lot of people rightly got offended about the accent Mike Read put on in the song.

I trust then all offensive/controversial songs are banned so there would be very little chance of anyone getting zero points.

Thanks to Iz for the mentioning of Ooberman and Kyu Sakamoto as not deserving of low points - I genuinely adore both tracks

OK I've had this one up my sleeve for a year or tow as a deliberate attempt to get nul points, but that's not in the spirit of the competition, so I've dropped the plans now - I do, however, love it!

I always liked to see what his comment about new dance songs on their song threads would be.

I don't think he will ever be back to Buzzjack again, while Common Sense doesn't mind being the pantomime villain due to political opinion, Ethan clearly didn't like it.

Hopefully him and Spadam will be back en el futuro for the odd BJSC if possible.

Very late but have to thank you for that as I'm not sure I did at the time! Much as I'd love to finally see a nul-pointer like everyone else, I'd be mildly devastated if that accolade was mine...and for 'I Can't Hear God Anymore' of all entries. </3

That song was the surest I've been of a DNQ on entering a contest but I did think/hope it'd connect properly with more than one participant (though I do recall Klumzee praising it too! lol), and it made the strongest impression on me of anything else at the time so I've no regrets sharing it here. Having said that, I first heard it just as news reports of the Orlando shootings were breaking, so the way it perfectly soundtracked my mood would've been unique and unlikely to be replicated, given it's all very sombre. Ah well, thankful it found that one fellow admirer anyway!

Something like 'Cariño' (although I didn't specifically expect that to do that badly) is what it's gonna be if there ever is a 0 pointer, a song that's pleasant but just fails to make enough impact on anyone to quite make it into their votes. Anything that actually stands out as being bad will probably have fans somewhere. x

I think it's definitely possible, but agree that it's not going to happen with an actively bad song, as that will pick up votes for being entertaining.

It would need to be something completely unfashionable, non-descript or from a non-entity that stands out in no way and gets completely lost in the background, and has little to no scope for picking up ironic votes, like a Michael Ball album track from 1995.

I feel like it would take another 00s indie track to do it, I only got one vote for Eve Of the Battle back in the day - it did get more points than Royce and didn't finish last but if said person had been in the other semi then that would have been a nul pointer so something similar could easily do it.

I'll post a new complete list when I get my spreadsheet up to date again as it's currently only updated to BJSC 140 (I am planning to update it v soon, again I want to finish posting the backlog of 2021 YTD updates first).

Quite a surreal moment to see this long standing tradition finally coming to an end - time to update the meme folder from 'there will never be a 0 pointer' to 'there will never be a 0 pointer from anyone other than Trifoski'!

Presenting this much deserved award to Savan for ending this 14 and a half year quest...
