I know that's very optimistic of me to have 9 overlaps in my predictions/preference and I expect an upset or two. Wouldn't be mad if Poland, Estonia or San Marino went through though, it's quite a strong semi final actually.

01 Cyprus: Tamta - Replay / YASS, a fantastic starter! I wish she had more energy because that's what sold Eleni, she seemed like she was giving it 110% but Tamta is kind of stuck at like 70%. It did feel really slick though and it's definitely one of my favourite songs of the contest - it just feels flatter than it should live. Song wise though... 9/10

03 Finland: The staging for this really isn't the one, they all feel so seperate from one another, as if they've never met one another which makes everything feel so cold. The song is decent but never really gets any real exciting oomph going. 5.5/10

04 Poland: I do find this to be quite charming and a guilty pleasure but it does kind of lose steam in the final minute after you've had 2 previous minutes of unified shrieking. What's with the tour of the arena aswell?! So many sweeping wide shots showing a quiet crowd for no particular reason. Odd and not particularly vote persuasive. 6.5/10

05 Slovenia: I've wanted to really fall for this throughout all the rehearsal periods but it's just not happening. It's quite cute but they just don't seem like particularly interesting people. I like the production and the chill of it but the GRAB of it is just not there properly for me, sadly. 6/10

Such a shame about the vocal from Belarus, the song is decent and think it may struggle to get through now.

Czech Republic have been the revelation so far, Tamta's vocal was good and Slovenia was lovely. My top 3 so far!

08 Belarus: I really like the song, there's no doubt about that. It does come across a bit amateur at times and she was definitely more than a bit pitchy towards the end but I'm still hoping it makes it through because it's a lot of fun and they've definitely gone all out on the staging. 8/10

09 Serbia: I mean, vocally PERFECT and surely a jury favourite. One of the best ballads of the year for me, it is a tad dated and it's not exactly one of my favourites but I respect everything about it and it should definitely go through. Very impressed. 7/10

10 Belgium: Jesus, his vocals are piss weak? The whole song is for me really, with verses that build momentum for a chorus that never really happens. They seem to want it to be anthemic but it just isn't? The whole chorus was off key every time aswell. Not good and probably my least favourite so far because at least Montenegro makes me SMILE in its direness. 3/10

13 Iceland: It's strange because when I first heard this, it was the screaming that put me off and I loved the chorus. But, now it's the screaming that makes it and the chorus vocals are actually really weak I'm a bit disappointed but I couldn't take my eyes off the entire spectacle of it, quite a highlight still and I love the key change that elevates it. I just wish the chorus sounded more solid and less wimpy. 7/10

16 Greece: Oh, this deserved so much better staging?! I'm so disappointed! It's such a beautifully elegant and majestic song in studio form but she seemed to struggle there and the staging seemed messy with people running into shot. It's still one of my favourite songs of the year but I don't think that's coming even close to winning the semi now like I thought? 7.5/10
