I'm carrying this data on from a thread I made on DenDen, in which I kept track of their Spotify plays!
This thread can also be used to post positions from iTunes. SPICE GIRLS Singles Update: 6th October 2017 Last update: 1st July 2017 In order of overall plays: (Combining album & single versions, but not including remixes) 178,691,047 - Wannabe 20,914,943 - Spice Up Your Life 20,452,163 - Say You'll Be There 19,792,139 - 2 Become 1 17,052,835 - Stop 11,660,680 - Viva Forever 11,417,627 - Who Do You Think You Are 7,095,450 - Mama 6,886,012 - Too Much 4,987,147 - Holler 3,675,937 - Goodbye 1,576,028 - Let Love Lead The Way 1,110,203 - Headlines (Friendship Never Ends) Increase in stream count since last update: +19,993,623 - Wannabe +2,487,914 - Say You'll Be There +2,390,481 - 2 Become 1 +1,997,345 - Stop +1,902,508 - Spice Up Your Life +1,226,118 - Who Do You Think You Are +1,152,269 - Viva Forever +718,843 - Too Much +640,019 - Mama +624,085 - Holler +280,394 - Goodbye +152,633 - Let Love Lead The Way +104,197 - Headlines (Friendship Never Ends) Mama 5,772,778 'Spice' Album Version (+560,575) 1,322,672 Radio Version (+79,444) Who Do You Think You Are 9,511,099 'Spice' Album Version (+1,104,170) 1,906,528 Radio Version (+121,948) Too Much 5,646,386 'Spiceworld' Album Version (+637,911) 1,239,626 Radio Edit (+80,932) Viva Forever 9,376,260 'Spiceworld' Album Version (+972,549) 2,284,420 Radio Edit (+179,720) Goodbye 2,702,084 'Forever' Album Version (+229,610) 895,583 Radio Edit (+47,575) 78,270 Single Version (+3,209) Holler 3,907,993 'Forever' Album Version (+541,181) 1,079,154 Radio Edit (+82,904) Let Love Lead The Way 957,567 'Forever' Album Version (+123,967) 618,461 Radio Edit (+28,666) Something that interests me about these stats, is how relatively poor the streams for 'Goodbye' are. I wonder if it suffers due to being tucked away as the last track on the 'Forever' album? Also, in the countries where the 'Greatest Hits' album is accessible, it's the final track on that album too. 'Goodbye' was one of their biggest hits in the UK - it's currently their 5th best selling single (in fact for many years it was 4th, but Spice Up Your Life has recently overtaken it). The fact that it's floundering as their 11th most listened to single on Spotify - with less listens than Holler - is quite a disparity! A relatively forgotten about huge hit. It's a bit of a shame that Wannabe completely eclipses their other hits, but also not surprising. |

Goodbye as a track just isn't that memorable. The reason it became one of their best-sellers was down to Geri leaving.
Viva Forever is the big injustice here. |

The reason [Goodbye] became one of their best-sellers was down to Geri leaving. The sentiment of it was certainly a factor in its success, but I wouldn't go as far as to say it was "the (sole) reason"! I think the song must have connected with the buying public beyond that context to have achieved the huge sales it managed, i.e. it was well-received/genuinely popular. (May as well post a couple of UK chart facts: it was the 8th best seller of 1998 with just three weeks of sales, and the 37th best seller of the 1990s. *.*) In the week of the Greatest Hits release it was their 6th most downloaded classic single, so it seems at this stage it was still one of the more remembered songs: 18th November 2007: #117 - Viva Forever #146 - 2 Become 1 #151 - Spice Up Your Life #167 - Wannabe #172 - Stop #183 - Goodbye It's a shame that it hasn't held up well in the streaming era, but I really think it being a bit tucked away as track 11 on 'Forever' (by far their least celebrated album) doesn't help it at all, and the 'Greatest Hits' not being available on UK Spotify probably doesn't help matters either. It does tend to perform better at Christmas time though - last year it managed to re-enter their Spotify Top 10 popular songs list at #9, climbing above Mama and knocking out Holler (the power of being included on a few festive playlists!). Maybe the same will happen this year? #Justice4Goodbye |

We all know Spotify works on visability, the easier it is to find or play a song the more streams it gets. It certainly hurts Goodbye.
It annoys me no end the GH isn't on Spotify, it is 2017! |

the Greatest Hits is loosing sales in the streaming era which is annoying, though I suppose its better to have one version doing well.
I love Goodbye, but the girls have so many good ballads, that 2 Become 1 always gets the 'christmas attention' over Too Much and Goodbye. Whatsmore, 'Viva Forever' is the 'acclaimed' ballad. Its a shame that 'Headlines' hasn't managed to find an audience, its a little gem. |

Same! I see no logical reason why it shouldn't be, kind of annoying. It'd attract so many casual listeners!

This is great! *.* It's up to #39 now!
I can't remember the last time it was as high as this (these are the moments when I'm annoyed DenDen is down, because it was such a good resource for random I think for 'Greatest Hits' to have any chance of re-entering the UK Top 200 albums chart (next week), it'd really need to climb into the iTunes Top 20 & hang around there for a few days. Download album sales are rather low. This is assuming that it isn't getting many CD sales (it isn't on Amazon at least, it's not Top 700 there), although it is in a 2 for £10 deal in HMV. Presumably its streaming is very low due to not being available on Spotify. So it's a slight uphill struggle for it to re-enter the official chart. By the way, they have three songs in the iTunes Top 1500 #1123 - Wannabe (Radio Edit) [downloaded from the 'Spice' album] #1143 - Goodbye (Single Edit) [downloaded from the 'Greatest Hits' album] #1454 - Say You'll Be There (Single Mix) [downloaded from the 'Spice' album] |

It's included in the "Pop Albums at Great Prices" promotion! It's showing at the bottom of the main page.

I know the download sales for the albums that charted within the Top 200 albums / compilations!
So, I've managed to discover that the #79 album on downloads (Guns N' Roses) sold 221 downloads, and the #75 (BBC Radio 2 - Sound of the 80s) sold 231 downloads. Therefore the Spice Girls Greatest Hits sold anywhere between those two figures. |

So about 225 copies. I guess that is nice to add to its overall total.
