Make that 4-1
Belgium to win the group most likely, potential finalist.
England will be runners up, they need to score a few.

Best performance of the World Cup so far from Belgium.

As they said in the studio Lukaku would have had the golden boot wrapped up had he stayed on for the full 90.

At least Tunisia managed to save themselves from being completely thrashed. Great performance from Belgium. I reckon England need to adopt a more defensive minded strategy ie. park the bus, against them in their last group match.

5-2 constitutes a thrashing in my book especially as their last goal was right at the end. And actually should we beat Panama I'd say go all out - we've got nothing to lose as we'd already be through & group H is wide-open so shouldn't be worried about who we draw regardless of if we come 1st or 2nd.

If we do park the bus I'm glad I won't be able to watch the game as I'll be at a wedding!

Win, draw or lose against Belgium we through anyway, we just need to score a few goals against Panama.

As Dobbo said, no matter who comes first in Group H, at the moment that group is wide open, I would have thought Columbia and Poland would be the top 2 finishing countries, it seems Japan and Senegal are leading the pack, so we should easily get to the quarters, unless we cock up somewhere. I do fancy a England vs Senegal game. biggrin.gif

Didn't Lukaku have an apparent knock? Belgium could have had eight I reckon.

Romelu Lukaku is the first player to score 2+ goals in consecutive World Cup games since Diego Maradona in 1986.

Crazy stat! I thought Ronaldo in 2002 had done that too but apparently not.

Still need a proper test for this Belgium team, safe to say that won't be happening until the knockouts!

Belgium look great going forward, but I think they can be got at, Martinez can't organise a defence and without Kompany they are slightly weaker. That said they've been impressive so far.

Football doesn't work like that, it's never that simple. You also predicted England to lose 3-1 against Tunisia. laugh.gif

Tunisia were a lot more open against Belgium than they were against England. Most normal people don't think England will win, I certainly don't as there are too many roles in the squad, but making it to the QFs will be a really good achievement.

I haven't seen any of Belgium's games live, only watched the highlights but it seems like Kevin De Bruyne is not performing close to level that we saw week in week out for Manchester City this season. I was expecting De Bruyne to be Belgium's main player of this tournament. I could be wrong but I don't think he's made any assists yet and he was the top assist provider of the Premier League, he also hasn't scored any goals yet.

Hazard seems to be the main man for Belgium whereas De Bruyne sits a little deeper. Probably why he fell out with Martinez!

Looks like not to be for Panama with Tunisia now leading 2-1.
