I really have to stream The 1975 and Olly now don't I laugh.gif
Great to see ZaraNEK climb a lot since last update, and good to see Ellie's grat almost top 40, as it hit me on the first listen biggrin.gif
Bloody hell, look at the Vamps! laugh.gif it's Union J all over again tongue.gif
Sad to see the Duke drive away again down the chart, but it didn't do too badly overall.
Good to see Lunch Money Lewis new in the top 100 and Nero + Avicii bagging himself another week in the top 100 with For A Better Day.

Ooh that's great for John Grant ohmy.gif glad he's got a Top 10 spot in the bag at least (perhaps Hurts will get there too? Won't hold my breath on that though)

Obviously I know this isn't true but when it comes to streaming it just feels like they're making things up. paid-for-sales are counted one by one and can eventually stack up to be 100,000 or something like that by the end of the week but with streaming it just feels like numbers are being made up and that has really taken the fun out of following the official chart for me.

That's without mentioning the staleness of how streaming has affected the official chart. I don't even listen to the chart show on Radio 1 anymore mainly because of this.

I think Justin Bieber is an idiot, but I don't mind if he's Number One.

There's a mistake on the OCC website: they call Naughty Boy a "London producer" but he's actually from Watford.
I also notice the Game album is at both 3 and 43 with different label credits. Is one of them an import.

That's without mentioning the staleness of how streaming has affected the official chart. I don't even listen to the chart show on Radio 1 anymore mainly because of this.

To be fair there are only 4 songs in the top 25 (which is essentially all they play) that have been in for more than 3 months, one of which has been skipped on the chart for 90% of its run, and two which are still that high on sales anyway. I'm actually finding it to be less of a drag than it sometimes used to be (though seeing the back of all those long running Sam Smith/Ed Sheeran songs is probably contributing to this tongue.gif)

Great to see John Grant doing well, also Selena Gomez, her new album is her best so far imo, if Faithless do hold on to number one, I think that will go down as one of the surprise number ones of the year, also Reverend and The Makers in the top 10

I bet this kind of run will be easily beaten one day. Boybands already have been "cursed" way before streaming combining *cough* Mcfly *cough* so it only make sense that ridiculous runs like this are happening for most boybands of today with streaming added in.

Janet is still higher than her 2 previous albums ever got, it's a success for her, definitely.

As Janet has had no promo here yet (besides Ne Sleeep getting AirPlay on 1Xtra and Burnitup! getting some radio 1 plays), I would say it is doing better than expected. It has some really strong material so if Janet does get an X Factor slot as rumoured and pushes the right single, the album could make a resurgence. There is definitely more evidence from Janet's team about increasing her UK profile again, by getting Naughty Boy to do a remixed version of Burnitup! for UK radio (haven't heard his version yet though).
