Well with the absence of the gaming forum, does anyone own one?
I'm a very, very casual gamer. But I love a good deal and am about to buy one despite trying to convince myself not to buy one. Are they any good?
I have one! Had one for a while now. Far earlier at adopting than I usually am. I do love it though.
I am very casual too and just boguht one, its excellent! I have the Uncharted collection, Ratchet & Clank, Singstar (), Infamous: Second Son, Lego Marvel Heroes and Tomb Raider so far. Definitely worth it for a casual gamer I think, a good range of games whatever you're into compared to Xbox One as far as I've seen and quite cheap. Some of the games are a bit extortionate but some are really good value!
Nope but i have a PS2 and an XBOX 360. I love games but I don't really game much any more like I used to in my childhood. I still own working PS1 games.
I'm a PS4 user, if anyone wants to add me as a friend it's awardinary folks.
Games owned include Star Wars Battlefront, Uncharted trilogy, Rocket League, FIFA 16, Destiny and a few others too.
I have a PS3 at the moment but am looking into upgrading soon!
I bought one as a birthday treat back in January but could do with some game recommendations. I've only really used it for GTA which I've now completed, and own one of the Lego games too. Loved GTA but not really into war games. Considering whether Guitar Hero would be worth the money.
Hmm it depends on what you're into. I'm a PC gamer and quite into strategies but I play the occasional game that's released on console too plus I occasionally use an XBox 360 (though that's mostly old gen) so trying to think of good new games off the top of my head "Shadow Of Mordor" is pretty fun, everyone keeps going on about Fallout 4 and I've seen some of the gameplay so that could be a good shout. If you're into GTA, "Just Cause 3" and "Watchdogs" could suit your taste. Of course there's things like Fifa if you're into that but I'll stop now because I don't want to just list the most popular games.
As for Guitar Hero look up the full list of songs beforehand and see if that influences your decision.
I'm also a casual gamer and I would highly recommend getting a ps4! If you're looking for some games I think tomb raider has to be up there (and rise of the tomb raider just came out around a week ago so can't wait to get my hands on it), along with Destiny which is amazing! Also the last of us is one of my favourites so if you're a fan of zombies this one's for you! Then there is the classics like gta, far cry and assassins creed which are also very good games! If you like decision making games rather than action I would definitely say beyond two souls and heavy rain are some of the best, and you will get them for a decent price! I've heard a lot about overwatch but never played it, probably worth a look though! Finally, rocket league is a super fun game for just mucking around when you've got some free time!
Oh yeah, talking of decision making games/ butterfly effects and so on "Until Dawn" is a pretty good one.
The Last Of Us is amazing, so immersive and incredibly well done It just looks even better with the graphics done up for the PS4 and the gameplay is so simple but effective and really draws you in because of the realism of the setting, physics, combat etc.
ahhh I totally forgot about until dawn that is an awesome game! and I echo everything Liam said about The Last of Us
I spend a lot of time on my PS4, and have a bit of an unhealthy obsession with trophies. Currently in the top 90,000 in the world though, and just outside the top 10,000 in the UK (2882 trophies spread across 102 games on PS3 and PS4).
Currently playing 'Rise of the Tomb Raider', and on my wishlist for Christmas is 'Final Fantasy 15', 'World of Final Fantasy', Watch Dogs 2', 'The Last Guardian' and 'South Park: The Fractured But Whole'.
Past games I need to complete include 'Star Wars Battlefront', 'The Evil Within' and 'Metal Gear Solid 5'.
Totally agree with the praise for 'The Last of Us', that was near perfection in a game.
This seemed about the best thread to say this rather than starting a new PS4 one, I am so excited for the 3D platformer resurgence that seems to happening. We of course have the Crash remasters coming up as well as Yooka-Laylee in April, which is by some of the Banjo-Kazooie team. It's a smilar premise a that game but with a chameleon and a bat, it looks fantastic. There is also one called Skylar & Plux coming up which is a racoon cat looking thing and a bird. I really miss games like this so it would be nice to have a few more, not necessarily to the saturation level of the late 90s-mid 00s but a few will be lovely. As much I love games like Uncharted and Tomb Raider, I love the nostalgia that comes from playing games like this.
Also omg @ my Last Of Us praise, I sold it when I got about halfway through (I wasn't that far into it when I hyped t up oops) The gameplay feels so good at first being realistic and immersive but as it went on, despite the brilliant story, I found that I was resenting the amount of unbearably tedious gameplay that you have to endure to get to it! I've seen people say it's overrated and I wouldn't necessarily agree with that though, it's far from my thing but it does what it does well anyway. Idk what I expected from TLOU but I suppose I like things a bit faster paced like Uncharted. The odd stealthy slow bit is fine but it felt like that was all TLOU was and I just hated it as I went along despite my initial love. It doesn't help I didn't play it for like a month because I focused on completing the Uncharteds. Uncharted 2 has to be the best non-Pokemon game I have ever played
I have one now! I got one for Christmas. The graphics are incredible
PS4 all the way!
Add me as a friend.
I bought a PS4 last year but I got very bored of it after a few months so I sold it
Nobody bother buying Yooka Laylee. Jesus christ this has to be the most disappointing game ever I'm trying to give it a bit more of a chance as I'm only on World 1 but it's borderline unplayable with awful camera and far too senstive controls, both of which are of course crucial to a platformer. Basic platforming is far more difficult than it should be becasue it's so imprecise. I'm gutted because it felt like exactly the sort of game the PS4 was missing :/ At least we have Jak & Daxter as a PS2 classic though, hyped for that and they obv can't mess it up as it's just the PS2 games. 2 months until the Crash remasters too
Anyone got the Kindgom Hearts collection for PS4? I got it last week and am absolutely loving it having not played the games before It's so lovely to basically play through classic Disney movies with a familiar Final Fantasy/Zelda action RPG feel.
If anyone wants to add me as a friend then just message me your user! I only play Call of Duty though most typically Black Ops 3!
Anyone play Resident Evil 6 or Killing Fields on it in multiplayer?
Thinking of getting the arcade classic MicroMachines for PS4, has anyone played it and is it worth getting?
I was going to but apparently there isn't any single player stuff properly, you can play races but there's not like a story/career mode with actual cups to win, you can do more online and just random races offline. So that kinda put me off as I don't really play online :/
If there are any other Final Fantasy fans out there, 9 has been added to the PS4 store
lol I'm still rocking my PS1 and PS2 via emulator only because my PS2 isn't reading discs any more sadly.
I just finished 15 which was brilliant so definitely need to get into others.
Still waiting for mdh to buy one
Call of Duty only!
I find the turn based ones kinda boring but I'm told you have to stick at it I know myself that Pokemon is like that and that's one of my fave series, but it feels like quite a commitment you'd have to be proper absorbed in Then again "purists" or at least fans of the older ones probably would say that FFXV is boring as you can just button mash for a lot of it, but I liked that it was quick paced and you had to quickly switch weapons etc.,idk it just suits the PS4 games I play often (Uncharted, Tomb Raider, Saints Row, stuff like that), whereas the turn based stuff I feel feels mroe like a handheld game so I am trying FFIV on the Ds.
With earlier FF games you need to be quick too because the enemies still attack while you are getting your turns in. Yu cna easily make a mistake and bugger yourself
in harder battles.
Open world games are obviously the best ones, that's probably why my first experience of one was with Final Fantasy X and it became my favourite game of all time even to this day. I still love that I can play it on my PS4 in HD too!
I noticed that on IV, unlike Pokemon where you can legit set it own mid battle, go and do something and it carries on, you can get attacked waiting for your bar thing to fill back up and I was struggling to get used to it at first
hahaha yas wardy rocket league is amazing I love it! everyone should get overwatch tho
Final Fantasy IX is my favourite one and probably my favourite EVER video game! Have it on my phone, original copy, digital on PS3/PSP and on Steam. Will add a 5th to my collection soon.
I've never understood the attraction of the Final Fantasy games. But then again my favourite game franchise is Gran Turismo so I'm probably not the target audience
I really need 8 on the PS4 store next, such a good game.
YOU GET A TROPHY FOR ANNOYING THE MOOGLE WITH THE FLUTE *.*
In my first playthrough I took her to Oilvert and regretted it I now send Eiko there and Dagger in Desert Palace but with Quina who can heal with White Wind.
I am a big video-gamer, I'm so happy to see this thread!
I actually have 2 PS4s - I got a second one so my bf would stop playing mine or so that we could play simultaneously. (I also have a PS3, Wii, WiiU, Nintendo DS, Xbox360, and game on my PC via Steam)
I just got the PS4VR and will be hooking it up this weekend!!! I bought Robinson for now but I pre-ordered Skyrim VR which I think comes out in November at the same time it comes out on the Switch?
Achievements/trophies are crucial and I'll go crazy if I can't platinum something, I try to track them on playstationtrophies.org
For the last two years or so I've played Elder Scrolls Online continuously, it was my first MMO and I was already a big fan of the Elder Scrolls series so I've been hooked since it came out. I have 11 characters on it... almost running out of char slots, which makes me sad because I'm too invested in each of them to delete one.
My favorite series is Dragon Age... I am actually in the middle of playing Origins for the millionth time because I wanted to go through the entire world of Dragon Age in chronological order, so I read the first two novels, need to finish Origins, then play DA2 again, then read the next 3 novels, and then play Inquisition (for the 3rd time) so I can experience the full storyline. There are comics to integrate in there as well, but I can't remember where they're placed in the list atm.
I'm on book 2 of The Witcher and when I finish ALL the books, I'll play through all three video games (never have before).
I really, really like finding those hidden gems by indie developers on the Playstation store, I've come across ones that I couldn't put down or made me cry or were just beautiful to look at... Brothers, Broken Age, Stories: Path of Destinies, and The Little Acre.
What's your PSN ID?
Nice, i think this is interest
The super speed cheat for FF9 makes Chocograph hunting far too easy My Chocobo is almost level 99 and it takes an average of 10 minutes to find all the chocographs in each area.
Also I forgot how broken Quina is an a character *.*
I've currently put 5 hours into this and I'm still trying to get the skipping trophy.
‘Call of Duty: WWII’ comes out soon! anyone planning on getting it? Looks amazing.
FF9 is absolute TRASH - VERY juvenile
A pastiche
FF15 is also awful.
Anyone know if Spyro is comin oot for Ps4??
OMFG
SQUARE HAVE HINTED THEY WANT TO REMAKE FF8!!!!
Currently trying to persuade mdh to buy a PS4~
I'm loving FF12 at the minute, know it was the start of a different direction with the battle system but I'm definitely gonna go for the FF9 digital release after I'm done tbh!
I'm currently playing Child of Light, and have a backlog of finishing Final Fantasy 9, InFamous Second Sun, Hue, Amnesia Collection, both South Park games (Stick of Truth and Fractured But Whole), Mad Max, Sleeping Dogs and Just Cause 3.
That's all while preparing for The Evil Within 2, Assassin's Creed Origins and other new ones, and saving up for some ones from the past few months including Final Fantasy 12.
I also still have my normal backlog of about 20 games that I haven't fully finished yet.
I have a lot of games and not enough time to play them.
Infamous *.* They to hurry up and follow that up.
I just preordered The Sims 4 and Assassin's Creed: Origins!
Also, sidenote, for the fourth year I'm taking part in the Extra Life 24-hour gaming marathon on November 4th. It's a global fundraiser where you pick a local children's hospital to sponsor and take on donations where all the proceeds go to that hospital and play video games for 24 hours. I've raised about 3k so far!
Things I've learned over the years: sugar crashes are real things, you can take a walk and still play games on your phone for it to count, smart people (not me) play board games instead or in addition which helps the eyes, and if you play Civilization you can accidentally play longer than 24 hours...
Ughhhh I don’t think I can wait much longer for COD WW2
Add me on ps4
cameron3257
I would never do that tbh - as people have died from playin games non-stop in Korea and Japan :/
Yeah but this is only 24 hours ("only" lol), and it's a unique way to help and do something good for others by doing something you enjoy! That's great breezyspice
Yeah and some have died in as little as 24 hous ey
If you've ever done a normal 24 hours without sleep, just add a TV and it's fairly straight forward tbh. A good idea and a pretty easy way to donate money to a worthy cause breezy spice!
Thanks guys! Only two more sleeps for me and then I get to marathon! I've raised $585 this year so far, although I added a stretch goal that if I can raise $1000, I'll get a gaming tattoo! *fingers crossed*
I just got my grocery delivery for game day and I've got loads of healthy snacks to eat throughout the day and I still have a dog to walk so it's an excuse to take brief breaks and walk around.
Millions of people in North America take part in Extra Life every year, so the 24 hour gaming thing is pretty common I'd say.
Can I also say how much I'm enjoying Assassin's Creed: Origins right now?!!?! It has reminded me of Horizon Zero Dawn in some ways. I never played any other AC games before but I watched a couple when my bf played them - and tbh I got bored of the gameplay, but I don't find this one that way at all! HIPPOS CAN RUN FAST!
Anyone playing COD WWII? It’s honestly one of the best in years
Never played much of Zombies on any COD.
Multiplayer is very good
why the f*** is David tennant a character in zombies. Weirdest shit ever
Wanted to thank y'all for the support - I ended up raising $1015 for my local children's hospital this year! AND I totally survived what ended up being 25 hours of gaming due to the time change.
I finished Assassin's Creed Origins and while I need to do a couple trophy cleanup runs - I ended up clocking over 120 hours
All of the forums I read said people platinumed in 60-80 so maybe I'm a completionist, really methodical, or they lie!
I booted up Skyrim VR the other day and it blew my mind. I didn't play for long because I needed to charge the motion controllers and now that I'm moving I might just wait to set it up in the new place, but if you've ever played Skyrim before - that opening scene on the cart was ridiculous - you're IN the cart, you're looking around up/down/all around and I may have cried a single tear. Shut up, no I didn't.
I wish I could get into shooters but I just get angry when I play them. My aim with a gun is far worse than if I use a bow/arrow or magical staff. And I get really jumpy when things start shooting at me.
I'm DYING to play A Hat In Time now it's out on PS4, got exams this month so holding off buying it but it looks incredible and of course we so rarely get these cutesy retro 3D platformers that I grew up with nowadays. I just hope it's better than Yooka-Laylee which was a colossal disappointment.
Just got a PS4 for Christmas this year! My username is travysuxx if you want to add me. I've got Overwatch, GTA 5, WWE 2K18, Steep, etc. Right now I'm playing Gravity Rush 2 because I watched a play-through of the first game and it looked like a lot of fun!
