We've made it euroqueens! The beginnings of spring are emerging from the winter, the vaccine fuelled hope lies ahead of us and Melodifestivalen reaches its dramatic climax tonight!
In contrast to previous years we've got a number of potential contenders for the crown and after very few people saw The Mamas snatching the win by a single point last year, don't go counting any of your Swedish chickens. And this year for the first time ever, the final will be broadcast with live commentary in English at this link here so there's no excuses for not tuning in if you need a bit of pop sparkle/Eurovision warm up in your lives tonight. The Odds currently have the top 5 as; 1. Tusse 2. Eric Saade 3. Dotter 4. The Mamas 5. Clara Klingenstrom And the Swedish charts have the top 5 as; 1. Tusse (3) 2. Eric Saade (4) 3. Clara Klingenstrom (5) 4. Danny (9) 5. Dotter (11) And the latest pre-final streaming numbers have the top 5 as 1. Tusse (1) 2. Eric Saade (4) 3. Clara Klingenstrom (5) 4. Danny (6) 5. Dotter (7) So that's how the data seems to be shaking out but will Clara's post-AC bounce manifest itself in votes as Sweden get their game face on and pick what they think will be a contender in Rotterdam? Everything kicks off at 7PM UK time so get your drinks and snacks ready girls! |

It's the strongest final in YEARS
Out of the contenders I'd like it to be Eric or Dotter, but if there was to be a Flo Rida singing for San Marino mirakel tonight, then Charlotte direkt till Rotterdam! |

Presuming the international juries go for it in a big way, which they probably will although I think Eric will be close on that metric, then it's definitely Tusse's to lose. He'll no doubt storm the public vote too.
It is a fantastic final, which I'd rank as follows: 1. Clara Klingenström - Behöver inte dig idag 10/10 2. Charlotte Perrelli - Still Young 10/10 3. Dotter - Little Tot 10/10 4. The Mamas - In The Middle 9/10 5. Eric Saade - Every Minute 9/10 6. Tusse - Voices 8.5/10 7. Danny Saucedo - Dandi dansa 8.5/10 8. Arvingarna - Tänker inte alls gå hem 8.5/10 9. Klara Hammarström - Beat Of Broken Hearts 8.5/10 10. Anton Ewald - New Religion 8/10 11. Alvaro Estrella - Baila Baila 7.5/10 12. Paul Rey - The Missing Piece 7/10 That incredible top three, plus Rena Rama Ding Dong, are going straight onto my Melodifestivalen all-time favourites playlist, which usually gets only two or three additions each year This post has been edited by gooddelta: Mar 13 2021, 04:46 PM |

My heart here is fully team Dotter och Charlotte but the latter is pure fanboy dreams and sadly Dotter's streaming numbers don't seem to indicate that she commands the same levels of public support as the other big contenders (and even though I'm trying to justify that with the whole "it was never really taken down" thing we have to be honest here) so in the event that neither of those being able to happen I'm definitely Team Tusse over Team Eric. Voices just has that extra anthemic quality to it whilst Every Minute is all a bit "style over substance" for me in both the song and the performance. And in the current field where there's a very crowded pack of good songs without a clear winner yet (awaiting Malta/Azerbaijan/Iceland in HQ and video) I can see Voices having the clearest path to victory in Rotterdam of anything that's been confirmed so far.
Is it 20:00 Swedish time? It is. |

I agree, the Fandom for Dotter seems to have faded away. I'm team Dotter/Charlotte, but I actually think Eric gives them the best chance for a win.

However, I want Eric Saade to win, so I have full belief he’ll come 2nd. As is the way with all of my favourites x

Danny was a good opener, makes the whole ‘will flop in AC’ predictions v silly in retrospect.

I love Danny's song, but it was out shadowed by a few, I don't think he has a chance of winning.

it’s great having an english commentary this year but it sounds like you’re on an aeroplane and the cabin is speaking to you from the cockpit
