The days of Thomas G:son and recycling acts from that one national final 3 years ago are OVER! The Cypriot broadcaster has announced that Alexander Papaconstantinou will compose their 2018 entry. They'll be holding a national final to find the singer of the song in January, with the song being revealed at a later date, as is the custom these days to leave everything to the last minute!

The subtitle's wish is Cyprus's command it seems! Helena Paparizou reportedly signed a deal to represent Cyprus in Athens today, official announcement on Friday...

Helena has probably the best/most consistent strike rate for me for an ESC winner in their post-win Career so I have VERY HIGH EXPECTATIONS here if this turns out to be legit.

My Cyprus benchmark is Ivi Adamou "La La Love". The reaction here had me expecting something better and whilst it's a good entry, it isn't THAT strong. Though it's easily straight into the top 5 to be fair.

This sounded great on 2nd listen to be fair; though the bit between the build up to the chorus & where the instrumental chorus takes off seems very unnecessary. Do you know what I mean?

This is THAT song. It grew on me and it wasn't until the semi final performance that I was COMPLETELY sold, but I've been obsessed ever since.
To the point that I'd consider this my fave Eurovision song since 'Euphoria'.

I think if her vocals were better this would've run Netta close because it'd surely have picked up more jury votes. I otherwise can't fault it. And it is now my favourite from the year, edging ahead of France by the end.
