Confirmed via Instagram that the first single from the album will be called '24k Magic' and will be out October 7th.

Posted by: rob s 3rd October 2016, 12:51 PM

Very much looking forward to this *.*

Posted by: Davidson 3rd October 2016, 01:44 PM

Interested to hear what he can come up with this time around. Everything is set up for a massive era I feel.

Posted by: Jonjo 3rd October 2016, 01:50 PM

Yay! Excited for this. Please be a banger.

Posted by: danG 3rd October 2016, 02:04 PM

Hopefully he's working with Mark Ronson again

Posted by: mdh 3rd October 2016, 04:19 PM

One can only assume this'll be an instant hit.

Hype! It's been far too long since we had solo Bruno wub.gif

Posted by: jase. 3rd October 2016, 08:24 PM

SO excited. Love a bit of Bruno!

Posted by: Addy K!ng 4th October 2016, 03:17 PM

Omg can't wait.

LOOH was fantastic and hopefully the new one will be as good as that.

Posted by: Scene 4th October 2016, 06:05 PM

Can't wait for this. I hope it's in the same league as LOOH! It also seems Bruno has become more Buzzjack-friendly compared to last time he released an album.

Posted by: mr_pmt 4th October 2016, 07:14 PM

I really think Bruno became much more bearable since the beginning of era 2 (well, mostly).

Posted by: Addy K!ng 5th October 2016, 04:43 AM

LOOH and WIWYM were absolute stunning wub.gif...no surprise if people started to really like him.

Posted by: Bjork 5th October 2016, 06:54 AM

funnily I like some songs he's done with/for other people like F**k You or Uptown Funk
but his own songs are terrible, The Lazy Song, Grenade... terrible songs...
LOOH is just a remake of Roxanne and WIWYM has some of the most cringeworthy lyrics ever :/

Posted by: Addy K!ng 7th October 2016, 04:53 AM

Ok Z100 just premiered...it sounds like it's going to be a big hit...it's a rehash of Uptown Funk, Can't Stop The Feeling and two or three other songs which I can't think of which laugh.gif but it sounds something like we all heard it before.

I am sure it will become a big hit regardless of my unpopular opinion about it.

Posted by: cqmerqn 7th October 2016, 06:10 AM

Sounds incredibly like Uptown Funk.

I don't really like it at the moment.

Posted by: Joe. 7th October 2016, 06:17 AM

Woah, I thought he'd go in that direction but it sounds a little too much like Uptown Funk (That and Downtown).

Posted by: Atonement 7th October 2016, 07:40 AM

I don't really like it sad.gif It's not bad but just meh.

Posted by: liamk97 7th October 2016, 07:52 AM

Also reminds me, at points, of the chorus to Snoop Dogg's 'Signs' and various other Pharrell productions.

Posted by: J▲hq 7th October 2016, 08:24 AM

Nah. Sounds messy, down with "The Lazy Song" as one of his worst singles.

Posted by: Davidson 7th October 2016, 10:29 AM

Everyone is doing it too much saying it sounds exactly like 'Uptown Funk'. It actually reminds me more of 'Signs' than anything else.

It is great fun and sounds classic already. Wasn't expecting it to be this great.

Posted by: Froot. 7th October 2016, 10:46 AM

I really like this and I'm glad he's continuing to do something different to what everyone else is doing too. It's certainly needed with all the stagnant copycat sounds in the chart right now. It's certainly not a direct copy of 'Uptown Funk' and it would be too easy to call it that but the influences are there. It's more of a natural progression from that and is a mix between it and 'Treasure'. He certainly has more right to do a direct copy anyway than Fleur East but it's not. The only thing I hate is that horrific autotuned opening.

Posted by: Davidson 7th October 2016, 10:51 AM

I love the autotuned parts.

This song is as if Bruno, Daft Punk, Mark Ronson and Pharrell made a supergroup. I'm even hearing a bit of TLC 'Ain't 2 Proud 2 Beg' in there too.

Posted by: Atonement 7th October 2016, 10:57 AM

I already start to like it more. I don't even think it sounds like 'Uptown Funk'? This is much more 80s/early 90s than the retro sound of UF.

Posted by: Davidson 7th October 2016, 11:04 AM

Yeah I agree.

Musically it's not that similar to 'Uptown Funk' at all. I think it is mainly the vocal delivery of the kind of half-talked quotable verses.

Posted by: Jonjo 7th October 2016, 11:04 AM

Yeah not seeing how people think it's "a direct copy" of 'Uptown Funk' I definitely agree with the 'Signs' comparisons a lot more (mixed in to the rhythm of 'Downtown')

Smash hit though. I reckon this will be just as big as UF in all honesty.

Posted by: JosephStyles 7th October 2016, 11:04 AM

I'm not much of a Bruno fan really but this is decent, I agree with Joe that it reminds me of a cross between Uptown Funk and Downtown (although I wouldn't say it's a retread or a copycat of either of those). Feel like it will get ruined by overplay but right now it's pretty enjoyable.

Ah yes, that is true.

Most comments on YT are not very positive about the song and video. I still expect this will be a hit and it will grow on people.

Posted by: RobBob 7th October 2016, 02:14 PM

Yeah, I get more of a Downtown feel from it but with more of a definite structure. Really liking this after 2 listens, I'm sure it'll get somewhat old but for now, it's a catchy retro singalong jam.

Posted by: Addy K!ng 7th October 2016, 02:28 PM

yes to all of you pointing out 'Signs'...I couldn't think of last night when I listened...I just gave my second spin and it already sounds better wub.gif

Posted by: Scene 7th October 2016, 02:39 PM

I'm loving it. I'm glad it isn't just a rehash of one (or all) of his biggest hits and feels more like a progression. I don't know whether the music video is supposed to be tongue-in-cheek though. unsure.gif

Posted by: clothespin 7th October 2016, 06:32 PM

I'm all for an Uptown Funk part 2 (not copy) so this is FAB yahoo.gif

Posted by: mr_pmt 7th October 2016, 07:19 PM

I loooove the retro disco production on this! It feels like an actual proper throwback.

The chorus is very weak though, but I'm sure that'll grow. Above all, I'm just glad it's not a ballad filled with bad chat up lines.

Posted by: SevenSeize 8th October 2016, 05:52 AM

This is awesome! heart.gif love me a bit of retro synth funk and gotta love that energy Bruno brings on this, looking forward to the album!

Posted by: Cucumberella 8th October 2016, 08:17 PM

the pre-chorus is OOOOOH

Posted by: Cucumberella 8th October 2016, 09:10 PM

ye i'm loving this right now! i will end up being bored of it im sure but right now its fire

Posted by: 24k Cody 9th October 2016, 06:25 AM

This is like "Uptown Funk" and "Downtown" had a baby mixed with a little tinge of Prince maybe? I kinda got Prince vibes from this.

Posted by: cqmerqn 9th October 2016, 08:29 AM

I can't stand the auto-tuned start.. it's not something I'd listen to but I can see it being a big hit, not as big as Uptown Funk though...

I didn't realise I wanted this, but I am liking it on first listen ;o

Posted by: Cucumberella 9th October 2016, 12:45 PM

i think it sounds like a Chromeo single!

Posted by: Ðøßßø 16th October 2016, 02:03 PM

This is pretty crap IMO. Get he's going for a retro sound yet again but it just sounds far too tacky and generic. His first era was outstanding everything since had been varying degrees of tolerable to terrible.

Posted by: jase. 16th October 2016, 11:01 PM

Yeah it's not very good sad.gif Disappointed to say the least!

Posted by: Bré 16th October 2016, 11:04 PM

Absolutely love '24K Magic', think it's already my 2nd fave from him after 'It Will Rain'! wub.gif A bit confused at people saying it sounds too much like 'Uptown Funk' as I was actually surprised at how DISsimilar it is to that, sounds much more like a first solo album era Pharrell track ('Signs' is also a good comparison). Really fresh and interesting sound for Bruno.

Bre having a good opinion ohmy.gif It Will Rain really is incredible!

I'm really loving this! I'd say it's in my top 3 already after IWR and Locked Out Of Heaven.

Posted by: Chez Wombat 17th October 2016, 07:27 PM

This is amaze, probably the best thing he's done, this is so clearly the sound that he should be going for rather than mushy ballads. I don't really see how this is an Uptown Funk clone at all, the verses/vocal delivery perhaps is fairly similar, but it's not like he was ever gonna do a completely different sound to that.

Posted by: jakewild 17th October 2016, 07:34 PM

i could not be more in tbh

Posted by: 24k Cody 17th October 2016, 07:52 PM

I feel like everything started working out for Bruno in terms of the shift in style after "Treasure" became a single.

Posted by: dhwe 21st October 2016, 08:36 PM

this is extremely good. like, extremely, like i'm a bit shocked at how good it is

I agree. I stopped viewing him as a dreary balladeer since then.

Posted by: Liаm 24th October 2016, 11:37 AM

I can't stand this song, it's just awful :/ I hope it flounders and doesn't become bigger, I cba hearing this everywhere all the time like Uptown Funk...

Posted by: Addy Boo! 28th October 2016, 05:20 AM

Yes, still loving it...and it sounds even more amazing when they play it on the radio wub.gif
