This sort of thing always makes me think of an interview Pink did, where she said her management took her into a room and said they’d have to redefine how they market her, as she was now over 30 and mainstream radio wouldn’t touch her. She then released What About Us....

It is such a shame that radio will not play stuff like this

I don't think R1 even playlisted Bonfire Heart back in 2013 and that was a fairly big hit, so I really doubt they will for this one.

I’ve seen a lot of posts about James’s track and video.

It’s basically to do with the fact that the song is about him saying goodbye to his father who has a terminal illness and his father stars in the video alongside him. It’s a one take video reminiscent of Sinead O Connor but it’s also a great song too he does heartbreak well.

my main issue with him is always the vocals, find his vocals in general very unsettling but here it is quite effective when he goes off-key in a couple places

That's a bit of an overstatement? A week or two isn't going to make much difference at this point. In all honesty, they're likely going to struggle on streaming no matter what they release, so if the delay is because they want to get the video out on the same day and help their streams then that's a good idea.

'Ode To Joy' was only #24 in the last Kworb update so that's suddenly got a huge boost from somewhere. Could probably see it getting to #1. Nice to see it ahead of the Dominic Frisby thing anyway lol ~ (they're #1 and #2 respectively on Amazon).

The gap has been closing between the top two over the last couple of updates on kworb - the most recent sees the first decline for Ode To Joy whilst Dominic Frisby continues to gain, and the original version of 17 Million is now in the top 100 too. Combined it's currently on about two thirds of Ode To Joy rather than half like most of today.
