It's fantastic - will sell that album and possibly be a big hit single too!

With viewing figures as low as that I can't see the BBC hurrying to commission a third series. I caught the last 10 or so minutes of the programme last night and it still looks something of a mess. There's little there that is going to appeal to the casual viewer who isn't interested in Coronation Street.
What would be interesting would be to get a breakdown of the audience profile, figures which are compiled by BARB but which are only available to paying subscribers. If most of the viewers fall into the correct demographic then the BBC might give the programme another chance later in the year. 7.30pm is probably the ideal time (in fact probably the only time on a Friday night) to broadcast the show but putting the programme up against Corrie is always going to lead to lower viewing figures, at least among those who watch the programme live rather than on catchup. Again, a breakdown of the age groups of those who watch the programme on catch-up would be interesting, as will be the final viewing figure when that is available in a fortnight. |

Again, a breakdown of the age groups of those who watch the programme on catch-up would be interesting, as will be the final viewing figure when that is available in a fortnight. I've only seen figures for the very first episode: 253k (10.3%) among 16-34s, an 11% skew Which is why I'm surprised it was recommissioned in the first place - unless they already had a deal with the production company to make at least 2 series. The first episode added less than 100k to its consolidated figure and it doesn't seem to do that well on iPlayer either. This post has been edited by AcerBen: 21st April 2018, 08:41 PM |

I haven't got figures but by 2006 it was similar, it was on BBC 2 by that stage tho!

Just caught up on Friday's episode...
- Shawn is very good live and is absolutely adorable - The Vaccines promoting "I Can't Quit" over their new single seemed a strange move, unless they think it's the only thing that can sell the album. "Nightclub" is a racket tbf. Also the vocals were quiet compared to the rest of it, a shame as I really like the song. - Jorja Smith seems to have a lot of talent but her music is not up to much. "Blue Lights" was pretty rubbish. - Nile Rodgers & Chic's gig in a minute was impressive like Gary Barlow's - why wouldn't you rehearse to show off your greatest hits? - found it hard to tell if Craig David was miming or not. I hope not as one thing I've been enjoying is that it's all LIVE. He was certainly at least singing over the main track. It wasn't raw enough for me, I like the song though. Certainly better than "I Know You". - Charlie Puth's a massive geek! I found him incredibly endearing actually. I couldn't stand him initially. "Attention" is still the only thing I've really liked by him, but I quite like *him* now. Not sure what was going on with the blouse and hair do though. Something about him reminded me of Tom Chaplin from Keane as well haha. |

'I Know You' is great. In fact it was the SLFN performance that really sold the song to me!
