Drake releases 'Fake Love' and 'Sneakin' both with an album cover of a bearded Drake smoking a pipe, neither sound like massive hits really so I don't think they're getting a radio push like 'Controlla' is right now. 'Fake Love' could easily go top 40 though, liking the island vibe to it.

Posted by: twentyonemdh Oct 24 2016, 02:02 PM

as a person surrounded by Drake-lovers/teen streamers I can see Fake Love being HUGE. Whether that's a good thing or not idk.

Posted by: danG Oct 24 2016, 02:05 PM

depends on if radio are going to move to 'Fake Love' already or stick with 'Controlla'. Either way 'Fake Love' is probably at least a top 20 hit as it'll do very well on streaming.

Posted by: Joe. Oct 24 2016, 02:09 PM

Yeah, Fake Love sounds huge, it's already being pushed largely on Spotify and Itunes.

Posted by: danG Oct 24 2016, 02:13 PM

listening to 'Fake Love' for the 2nd time now and it's growing so much already omg. it's slightly reminiscent of 'Hotline Bling' which is great! Hit please.

ANOTHER album drama.gif but yeah Fake Love sounds like a smash.

It might be an EP, just like "If You're Reading This, It's Too Late"

Posted by: Red. Oct 24 2016, 05:30 PM

Well thats the #1 single for the next 14 weeks sorted 😉

Posted by: PeteFromLeeds Oct 24 2016, 06:00 PM

Sneakin' is slightly less of a monstrosity than Fake Love is

Then again, both are better than Controlla

Posted by: twentyonemdh Oct 24 2016, 07:31 PM

Fake Love has a KILLER CHORUS. Makes the song completely. wub.gif Oh, and there are some SLIGHT tropical vibes in the backing too which is always good heehee.gif

Posted by: twentyonemdh Oct 25 2016, 02:09 PM

Hhhh Fake Love is amazing wub.gif

The album is released on Saturday cheer.gif Very excited for this, according to some reliable sources there's lots of big name collabs on there!

Young Thug collab YES PLEASE.
I feel like I'm kind of over Drake at this stage, much preferring Thug, Future and Migos right now. Hope this reignites my interest, 'Views' was such a letdown.

Posted by: danG Mar 15 2017, 10:33 AM

30 tracks?!?

Lmao I can already imagine the chart forum meltdown when the whole album makes the top 100.

Posted by: Klaus Mar 15 2017, 10:54 AM

Apparently this is a 'playlist' rather than an album. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Posted by: Davidson Mar 15 2017, 11:25 AM

There is no real need to release a 30 track album/playlist, whatever the hell you wanna call it.

It is just to show off that he is a streaming giant and to get press coverage I would imagine rather than it being anything about releasing quality. I know he has blown up massively these last few eras but it is a real shame it has happened when he really is just throwing everything/anything at the wall rather than making the kind of quality he used to.

I will happily eat my words if he proves me wrong though, and I am hyped about the Jorja Smith collab.

What does that actually mean though? I get that this isn't a 'proper' studio album like "Views" was, but how does it differ to 'If You're Reading This It's Too Late' and 'What A Time To Be Alive' which were referred to as mixtape?

basically, is a playlist a mixtape?

Posted by: burbe Mar 15 2017, 02:51 PM

Jorja Smith!!! I didn't see that one coming.

30 tracks mellow.gif What a joke.

Posted by: Bjork Mar 15 2017, 03:39 PM

does a playlist mean it's only available to stream?
is it Apple only or also Spotify?

Posted by: mdh Mar 15 2017, 04:51 PM

DAVE & GIGGS? SIGN ME UP

Posted by: Liаm Mar 15 2017, 04:58 PM

"Playlist" makes me think streaming only and that's what makes it different to a mixtape? laugh.gif If it's on Spotify too he'll probably still have loads of top 100 entries with it anyway. Charts ruined even further zomg!!1!1!

Posted by: Regina Mar 15 2017, 07:21 PM

So that means two new songs with Jenny Lo this upcoming week *.*

Posted by: Bjork Mar 16 2017, 07:47 AM

^2??

Posted by: Regina Mar 16 2017, 04:17 PM

She'll have this and her 43rd Pitbull collab on his new album.

lmaoooo I always knew Drake & J-Lo hooking up was just PR tongue.gif

-

My guess is that revenue-wise it will work as a mixtape, being released in separate parts/EPs, but on Spotify they will be combined in a playlist. In terms of billing album-wise (especially on Spotify), they will be listed on whatever part of the album they're released in.

Posted by: danG Mar 18 2017, 12:40 PM

Well it's 18/03 and it still hasn't been released. Apparently he's premiering it at 3pm PST / 6pm EST / 10pm GMT on OVO Sound Radio, so it'll be on Spotify tomorrow I guess.

Posted by: gooddelta Mar 18 2017, 11:47 PM

Jumped straight to Get It Together for Jorja, and I wasn't disappointed.

Afro house!!! Excited to see South African producer Black Coffee on the track, love some of his stuff.

Tbh, I don't mind Drake domination if he helps to bring underappreciated genres out from the underground.

Posted by: Davidson Mar 19 2017, 12:00 AM

I'm only a couple tracks through and this is already about 10x better than 'Views'.

Let me get through this properly but this may be the thing I needed to get me interested in Drake again.

If 'Passionfruit' takes the charts by storm, I shall be very happy wub.gif

Posted by: mdh Mar 19 2017, 12:05 AM

This is awesome. Can this please get at least a few tracks in the top 40?

Posted by: Davidson Mar 19 2017, 12:12 AM

'Get It Together' is incredible. The production is outstanding, who thought Drake & Jorja would work so well over an almost house beat? Jorja sounds so stunning, like so beautiful.

It is like a better and more dancey version of 'Too Good'.

Posted by: danG Mar 19 2017, 12:43 AM

Seems there isn't 30 tracks then, only 22 tongue.gif

Free Smoke – Drake
No Long Talk – Drake, Giggs
Passionfruit – Drake
Jorja Interlude – Drake
Get It Together – Drake, Black Coffee, Jorja Smith
Madiba Riddim – Drake
Blem – Drake
4422 – Drake
Gyalchester – Drake
Skepta Interlude – Drake
Portland – Drake, Quavo, Travis Scott
Sacrifices – Drake, 2 Chainz, Young Thug
Nothings Into Somethings – Drake
Teenage Fever – Drake
KMT – Drake, Giggs
Lose You – Drake
Can't Have Everything – Drake
Glow – Drake, Kanye West
Since Way Back – Drake, PARTYNEXTDOOR
Fake Love – Drake
Ice Melts – Drake, Young Thug
Do Not Disturb – Drake

Posted by: Davidson Mar 19 2017, 12:48 AM

Maybe he realised how much he had let himself slip with 'Views' because the difference in quality is astounding.

Every song is incredible. Think it could even be one of my favourite works of his to date??? Time will tell but that was the last thing I was expecting to possibly say.

Also I am loving at how much British influence there is on this. Jorja Smith, Skepta, Giggs and Sampha all repping for the British talent.

Posted by: Bjork Mar 19 2017, 06:48 AM

No Jennifer lopez then?

Nah, after all the tracklist posted below was always only a rumoured tracklist based on who Drake's been with recently biggrin.gif

No Jennifer lopez then?

There is an interpolation of "If You Had My Love" on "Teenage Fever" tongue.gif

Nearly finished listening to this and surprised how solid it is. "Fake Love" (and "Views" really) drained any expectation but it does feel like Drake's stepped his game up for this. Or maybe it's just all the outsider influences keeping it from being monotonous.

Posted by: Davidson Mar 19 2017, 10:13 AM

Jennifer was meant to be on 'Get It Together' as well but Drake replaced her with Jorja at last minute apparently.

So glad because Jorja shines so much.

Posted by: jase. Mar 20 2017, 08:43 PM

Why on EARTH is 'Kmt' the highest charting song on the UK iTunes?! blink.gif blink.gif

'Passionfruit' and 'Get It Together' are the clear highlights wub.gif

Posted by: danG Mar 20 2017, 08:58 PM

Glad J-Lo wasn't on 'Get It Together' in the end, Jorja's voice really works on the track and it gets her name out there.

agreed; that and 'Passionfruit' are the highlights.

'Passionfruit' is the first single and has been added to Capital's playlist already dance.gif

Posted by: Gabbe Mar 21 2017, 12:58 PM

2nd single surely tongue.gif

Posted by: liamk97 Mar 21 2017, 03:43 PM

I had a listen to the playlist (I don't really understand why it's being called a playlist - to me, that would suggest it would get updated now and then with more songs, yet its available to download as an album?). I wasn't expecting to properly like it or anything, but I thought I could cherry-pick the songs I did like and I found 'Passionfruit' and 'Get It Together' to be real gems. I particularly love the piano in the latter - reminds me of some of the songs on Madonna's Erotica album and I love that sort of R&B; can't quite pinpoint the sub-genre it is exactly, but it's just so chilled and emotive.

Posted by: gooddelta Mar 24 2017, 10:16 AM

The 'playlist' as a whole didn't grab me hugely, but Passionfruit and Get It Together are easily amongst the best things he's done in years.

The latter is exactly the sort of chilled type of house that I love. I do wish the likes of Black Coffee, Black Motion, Goldfish, DJ Kent etc...got some recognition outside of South Africa, hopefully others will follow where Drake has lead in giving them that exposure.

Yes, by far the best 3 wub.gif

Posted by: troylovesmusic Mar 25 2017, 11:47 AM

I think my favourite 3 are Passionfruit ,Blem ,and Get Together I think Balm is really unappreciated !

Posted by: Cremey Mar 26 2017, 04:59 PM

It's all about 'Ice Melts' for me. Haven't to it all in full that much, but it's such a step up from 'Views', which was definitely needed.

Posted by: Hadji Apr 28 2017, 02:30 AM

How many times are they gonna push back the physical release of the album? 7th April, 14th April, 21st April, 28th April and now 5th May

Posted by: Tombo May 2 2017, 01:59 PM

Passionfruit is still my fave, I haven't listened to the other tracks for a while.
