Don't recall the Phats & Small, Chemical Brothers and Basement Jaxx songs, but like all artists so might have to give them a listen.
Love Never Leave You, such a summer anthem! Rendez-Vu is absolutely amazing, a brilliant follow up to Red Alert, both quite eccentric dance songs in different ways.
And just leaving my weekly for Better Off Alone although next week's retro will recall the ultimate heartbreak. Increasing in sales for three weeks in a row was pretty much unheard of in 1999 though so Alice Deejay will always have that comfort.
Can't wait for Am I Wrong to be number 1 today! Over a year after I first heard it and sent it to BJSC. The UK music industry is WAAAY behind the rest of the world.
Here's hoping there mare more of us about today - last week's thread was very quiet
Good afternoon everybody
Love the retro faves from 2004 and 2009 (I think summertime sadness, I love it and 1 more are the only ones I like from the 2013 one)
Love my happy ending. One of Avril's best and I love keep your head up. I wish girls can't catch became big
Hope Idina and Nicole do well today and Neon Jungle stay top 40

Biography
Maroon 5 (formerly known as Kara's Flowers) is an American pop rock band that originated in Los Angeles, California. The group was formed in 1994 as Kara's Flowers while its members were still in high school. The original members of the band were: Adam Levine, Jesse Carmichael, Mickey Madden and Ryan Dusick; they signed to Reprise Records and released an album, The Fourth World, in 1997. After a tepid response to the album, the band parted ways with the record label and the members attended college. In 2001, the band regrouped, with James Valentine added to the lineup, and pursued a new direction under the name: Maroon 5.
The band signed with Octone Records and released their debut album, Songs About Jane, in June 2002. The album's lead single "Harder to Breathe", received heavy airplay, which helped the album to debut at number six on the Billboard 200 chart. The album's second and third singles, "This Love" and "She Will Be Loved", became worldwide hits reaching the top five on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The band won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2005. For the next few years, the band toured extensively worldwide in support of Songs About Jane and produced two live recordings: 2004's 1.22.03.Acoustic and 2005's Live – Friday the 13th. In 2006, drummer, percussionist and backing vocalist Ryan Dusick left the band and was replaced by Matt Flynn. The band recorded their second album, It Won't Be Soon Before Long, and released in May 2007. The album reached number one on the US Billboard 200 chart and the lead single, "Makes Me Wonder", became the band's first number-one song on the Billboard Hot 100.
Hands All Over, the band's third studio album was released in September 2010 and peaked at number two on the Billboard 200 chart. In 2011, the album was re-released and supported by their single "Moves like Jagger" featuring American singer Christina Aguilera. The song became the band's second single to reach number one on the Hot 100 chart; it has sold over 14.4 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling singles worldwide. The band released their fourth studio album, Overexposed, in June 2012. The album peaked at number two on the Billboard 200 chart. The first two singles from the album "Payphone" and "One More Night", were both international hits and peaked at two and one on the Hot 100 chart respectively.
In 2014, the band signed Interscope Records and recorded their fifth studio album, V, which is set to be released on September 2, 2014.
Since its debut in 2002, the band has sold more than 10 million albums in the United States and over 30.8 million digital singles and 27 million albums worldwide.
In 2013, Maroon 5 became the third most-played artist on Top 40 Mainstream radio, based on Clear Channel owned Mediabase, becoming one of the most successful acts of Interscope Records. - Wikipedia

Good to see this (barely) making it! During the intro while she was talking I got really confused and thought they were playing Solo Dancing
Great to see Maroon 5 have made the Top 40.
First time listening to this, Adam's voice seems much deeper and more bearable than usual
The opening sounded a bit like that of 'All the Things She Said' by T.A.T.u.
It Was Always You isn't actually too bad by M5's recent standards. Maroon 5 will have a hard task matching the brilliance of 'Harder to Breathe' though.
Maroon 5 aren't as good as they used to be for me. 'This Love' and 'Harder To Breathe'
Think I'll be downloading this Maroon 5 song later. I really like it
Really liking this
This can join the good section of maroon 5 songs (this love, moves like jagger) rather than the unbearable and rubbish maroon 5 songs (payphone, one more night)
Not sure how I feel about this song, could be a grower defo single potential though
Glad this is a lot better than their last few singles that seemed to blend into each other in awful blandness.
I love this and I get why many can't understand why 'Maps' was chosen as the lead single over it. Nice change of sound for them. I do like 'Maps' as well though, even if it's more generic, by-the-numbers Maroon 5.
Kinda dull for Maroon 5 on first listen.
Will 'Wasted' just done one!

Biography
Tijs Michiel Verwest, born 17 January 1969), known as Tiësto (/tiˈɛstoʊ/ tee-ES-toh; Dutch pronunciation: [ˈcɛstoː]), is a Dutch musician, DJ and record producer of electronic dance music. Although he has used many aliases in the past, he is best known for his work as DJ Tiësto. On his latest productions, however, he has dropped the "DJ" label and is now known simply as "Tiësto", an artist name which is a twist of his childhood nickname. In 1997, he founded the label Black Hole Recordings with Arny Bink, where he released the Magik and In Search of Sunrise CD series. Tiësto met producer Dennis Waakop Reijers in 1998, and the two have worked together extensively since then. Reijers is credited as producer, writer, composer, or arranger on many of Tiësto's releases. In 1999 and 2000 Tiësto collaborated with Ferry Corsten to create Gouryella. His 2000 remix of Delerium's "Silence" featuring Sarah McLachlan exposed him to more mainstream audiences. In 2001, he released his first solo album In My Memory which gave him several major hits that launched his career. He ranked at #1 on DJ Magazine's annual Top 100 DJs Poll consecutively for three years from 2002 to 2004.
Just after releasing his second studio album Just Be in 2004 at the Summer Olympics, he performed live at the opening ceremony in Athens, Greece, becoming the first DJ to play live on stage at an Olympics. Tracks he made especially for the Olympics were mixed together and released as the mix compilation Parade of the Athletes later that year. In April 2007 Tiësto launched both his radio show Tiësto's Club Life on Radio 538 in the Netherlands and released his third studio album Elements of Life. The album reached number one on the Dutch album chart as well on "Billboard Top Electronic Albums" in the U.S. and received a nomination for a Grammy Award in 2008. Tiësto released his fourth studio album Kaleidoscope in October 2009. - Wikipedia

Good to see Maroon 5 make it, wasn't sure they would. Love this. Not overly keen on Maps, I don't want that direction for them. They need to bring it back to the style of Songs About Jane, they've had their commercial sellout success, and this is the closest to SAJ they've come in years.
'It Was Always You' was surprisingly inoffensive though I was distracted while listening to it trying to think what the melody of the verses reminded me of. (It was Robbie Williams' 'Bodies', which is probably just me as usual). Put it in the 'possibly Maroon 5's best song' category but it wasn't exactly brilliant.
Guilty pleasure sing along tine
The Maroon 5 track is so much better than Maps

So glad 'Classic' has managed another week, such a feel good track and so catchy!
This is so tacky but I like it for some mysterious reason.
After the underwhelming debut for 'Classic', I wasn't expecting it to be here still, I presumed it'd be struggling for two weeks.
I just can't get into 'Classic' at all.
Will this song (and 'Wasted' for that matter) PLEASE fall off a cliff and die.
Maroon 5 having the best song so far says a lot.
That MKTO track is very Jackson 5, with a grown up vocalist.
So basically, it sounds like Michael Jackson.
I wish Thank You would've been their breakthrough hit here, that could've been very big. This is a bit mellow in comparison, quite like the retro-ish sound though.
wow never expected mkto to make 5 wks on the chart

Well, good to see this randomly return! Much prefer 'Giant In My Heart' these days considering this one was massively overplayed but it's still nice to hear it on the chart!
Oh can this please GO AWAY
'Hideaway' still sounds a lot more fresh than the last 2 songs despite being in the top 40 for longer than the 2 combined.
Still love this, I actually prefer it to her new track
Glad to have hideaway back in the chart
Anyone keeping count of the "Actuals" today.

Biography
Nicole Scherzinger (/niˈkoʊl ˈʃɜrzɪŋər/ ni-KOHL SHUR-zing-ər, born Nicole Prescovia Elikolani Valiente; June 29, 1978) is an American recording artist, actress and television personality. Following her departure from Eden's Crush, she auditioned for the burlesque inspired recording group, The Pussycat Dolls and she subsequently signed a contract with Interscope Records. The group's debut album, PCD (2005) and its follow-up Doll Domination (2008) both experienced commercial success. It was a breakthrough in her career that brought her to widespread prominence. Many of the group's songs became worldwide hits including "Don't Cha", "Stickwitu", "Buttons", When I Grow Up", "I Hate This Part" and "Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny)". However, despite their commercial success, the group was plagued by internal conflict which led to the downfall and disbandment of the group.
Scherzinger's long-delayed debut solo album, Killer Love (2011), incorporated elements of eurodance and club pop music. Although not major hits on the American charts, its singles "Don't Hold Your Breath" and "Right There" became top-ten hits in several countries worldwide. Scherzinger left Interscope Records in late 2013 and signed a multi-million dollar contract with Sony Music Entertainment and RCA Records. From 2012 to 2013, Scherzinger served as a judge on the UK version of The X Factor and won with James Arthur in her first year.
Throughout a career spanning 13 years, she has sold 16 million records as a solo artist, and a further 50 million with Pussycat Dolls making the latter one of the best-selling girl groups of all time. Outside of her work in the entertainment industry, Scherzinger is involved in charitable activities through human rights, world issues, and her work as an ambassador for the Special Olympics. - Wikipedia

The less said about this track the better, but a PCD reunion would be fab!
Your love falling so bad
Anyway still loving this and best 3 in the chart today. Amazing song
And the pussycat dolls will not reunite even though I love them
Jameela doesn't like her very much by the sounds of things
That first verse is pitiful but it's so hard not to sing along during the chorus!
Nicole Dreadful song!
This thread is practically half the size of last week's already and we're only 5 songs in.
Here Jameela goes again about what does it mean
There are so many more confusing songs. Just shut up with your hate for Nicole (nearly wrote this in capitals but I know I annoy quite a few people writing in capitals so I won't )
Love this song so so much and it's so summery
Jameela, I love you but you need to stop randomly interrupting during the songs!
The 'the way I like to bite it' makes me cringe so bad I dont know why
This is laughably bad - the verses sound like an R'n'B 'slow jam', but the chorus sounds like a children's TV show theme!
Poor 'Your Love'.
I have really grown to secretly love it, despite its shitiness.
Yay for It Was Always You holding on. Their best in a while for me. More of that on V please
Your Love has become one of my favourite pop songs of the year, so good!
I wish they didn't cut off the outro always
Sure, it doesn't make a lick of sense, but it sounds gorgeous - you really can't argue with her vocal talent. Sounds so smooth and sensual on this.
*interrupts the chorus* 'what does this mean?' !

Jessie Ware still to come! So proud of her ~

This and Your Love go great together!
Rita dropping for a 12th week in a row after debuting at #1 but still inside the top 40. Must be approaching some sort of obscure chart record.

Climbing and so glad Paloma is finally having a big hit. New York, can't rely on you and stone cold sober all deserved massive success as well. I love Paloma so much and APC is one of the best albums of this year. So happy with only love can hurt like this success, such an amazing song
Well it is a shame it isn't/was never 110% but Tough Love is her second-best track, so lovely to see Jessie in the top 40 with that in mind.
Queen Paloma still top 40! Such an amazing track.

Biography
R&B vocalist Jason Derülo launched his career while still in his teens, first as a songwriter for other artists and later as a solo performer. Born to Haitian parents in Miramar, Florida, Derülo started singing at an early age. He attended performing arts schools in Florida and took some early stabs at music composition, writing his first song at the age of eight. His writing skills began attracting attention, and by his teenage years, Derülo had begun scribing tracks for artists like Lil Wayne, Pitbull, and Pleasure P. He also wrote "Bossy" for Birdman, a New Orleans-based rapper, and made a guest appearance on the song, which highlighted his ability as a vocalist.
After signing to a subsidiary of Warner Bros., Derülo began making the transition from behind-the-scenes songwriter to mainstream performer. His first hit arrived during the summer of 2009, when he wrapped a sample of Imogen Heap's "Hide and Seek" (a song made popular by its appearance in the second season finale of The O.C., as well as the Saturday Night Live sketch Dear Sister) around a sleek modern soul beat. Titled "Whatcha Say," the song topped the Billboard charts and cracked the Top Ten in multiple foreign countries, including Canada, Australia, Sweden, Switzerland, and the U.K. A second single, "In My Head," peaked at number five in America, and Derülo's full-length debut album arrived in early 2010. Future History followed in 2011, along with its hit single “Don't Wanna Go Home.” ~ Jason Thurston & Andrew Leahey, Rovi / iTunes

Wiggle
Jason Derulo first two songs were great, what if was quite good but every other one of his other singles are horrible and wiggle is the worst of them
Forgot this is still to come
This is the worst song of 2014!
I ironically like this, like most of the viral hits from the past couple of years.
They should of cut this song short this song also makes me cringe especially snopp dogg's rap
wiggle
I quite like hopeful but lighters is way better

Hahaha at that drop.
I actually like this, it's kinda sweet!
Oh lord the rapping guy is the DEFINITION of nails on a chalkboard. The singer is pretty average as well.
That drop
I am not a fan of listening to children rapping and singing if I am honest
Awful song....The singer has talent and can sing but the rapper just ruins it for me
Ouch... well it is pretty awful
Oh I hate it when an act says their own name in a song
This isn't actually as bad as I was expecting, nothing great but nothing too offensive either. BGT completely passed me by this year so I had to look them up when I first heard that name.
First ever fall from 5 to 31! (a very small few have fallen further)
What was the last song to fall this far out of the top 5?
On a random note I first heard 'Your Love' on an online Bulgarian station and thought it was generic Bulgarian pop with Pitbull or something

Biography
Best known for her Tony-nominated performance in the Broadway smash Rent, singer/actress Idina Menzel made her solo debut in 1998 with the pop-soul effort Still I Can't Be Still. She joined the cast for Wicked in 2003 and appeared on the recording that same year, while 2004 saw her releasing the album Here. The following year, Menzel appeared on the soundtrack to the television show Desperate Housewives, and a duet with Ray Charles (which the pair had recorded back in 1998) found its way onto the tribute album Genius & Friends. In 2007, a dance version of Wicked's "Defying Gravity" became Menzel's first club hit. A year later she landed on the major label Warner Bros. and released a new album, I Stand. - iTunes

Biography
In one of the more unlikely crossover success stories, blonde Australian beauty Iggy Azalea (born Amethyst Amelia Kelly) segued from a high-profile modeling career to become a southern hip-hop star. Influenced in her childhood by Missy Elliott, TLC, and Tupac Shaqur, she moved to the states in 2006 at age 16, stating that she was drawn to the birthplace of rap. Moving from Miami to Houston to Atlanta, she absorbed the Southern-style drawl of her surroundings and released a trap-inspired mixtape titled Ignorant Art in 2011, shortly after relocating to Los Angeles. A video for her song "Pu$$y" was uploaded to the internet and became a YouTube favorite due to its explicit nature. Around this time, Azalea's blossoming relationship with rising rapper A$AP Rocky earned her some headlines (she tattooed the title of his debut album on her knuckles), but her recording career stalled when plans to work with T.I. fell through due to label conflicts. In spring of 2012, she signed to Wilhelmina Models International and pursued modeling full-time, landing a job as the "New Face of Levi's Jeans." Later that year, her musical stock skyrocketed when XXL Magazine put her on the cover of their annual Top 10 Freshman issue, alongside Danny Brown, Roscoe Dash, and French Montana. As the first female, non-American rapper to make the list, serious hip-hop fans took notice, including Diplo, who hooked up with Azalea for her follow-up mixtape, TrapGold, before she signed to Mercury Records for her official 2013 debut The New Classic. - iTunes

Still loving Fancy Probably my favourite rap song ever
And Yay that they didn't cut Queen Idina short but boo that they are playing the capital version of fancy, it deserves to be played in full and I love Iggy's rapping
Why is literally everything getting cut short today?
Idina is the only 1 of like the last 7 to survive
Wish we had more new entries to push down all these old songs.
Oh my god they cut it so short... ugh.
Still adore Rather Be, nice to see it finally taking off in the US!

Biography
Rather than the usual bombast or snooze-inducing "relaxation music," the U.K. six-piece known as Clean Bandit mash classical music and pop forms for an airy and dreamy yet driven sound that's like the chamber music version of house music. The core four-piece of the group were known as the Chatto Quartet, a classically trained string quartet that performed J.S. Bach and cited Jacqueline du Pré as an influence, but their post-show, wind-down music often consisted of garage, two-step, Craig David, and Arcade Fire tracks. The quartet members were aware of both producer Jon Wandeck and MC Ssegamic through the duo's work in photography, and when Wandeck suggested they play on one of his house music cuts, Clean Bandit were born. With MC Ssegamic on the mike, they released the classical-meets-house-meets-hip-hop-meets-heartbreak song "Telephone Banking" in the summer of 2011. Their Dance Armstrong mixtape followed in 2012, while 2013 saw the release of their Mozart's House EP. - iTunes

Biography
Favoring a naughty schoolboy look that makes him seem even younger than his already tender years (22 when his first major-label album was released), Scottish artist, producer, and remixer Calvin Harris has a similarly youthful and forward-looking approach to his music. Skipping the usual apprenticeship in the clubs or on indie labels, Harris went from posting his own D.I.Y. electroclash music online through MySpace and similar sites, to signing with the multinational giant EMI almost in a single step. A short time later, he was producing material for Kylie Minogue, Dizzee Rascal, and Rihanna.
Born on January 17, 1984, in the southern Scotland city of Dumfries, Harris was first attracted to electronic music in his teens and was recording bedroom demos by 1999. Two of these songs, "Da Bongos" and "Brighter Days," were released as a 12" club single and CD-EP by the Prima Facie label in early 2002 under the artist name Stouffer. With that single to his credit, the still teenaged Harris moved from Scotland to London, but as a very small fish in one of the world's largest and most competitive ponds, Harris floundered; only one of his songs was released during his time in London, "Let Me Know" with vocalist Ayah on the Unabombers' 2004 live-mix CD Electric Soul, Vol. 2.
Returning home to Dumfries, Harris began posting homemade solo recordings to his MySpace page. An A&R representative from EMI liked what he heard and signed Harris to the label in 2006. Following a pair of successful singles, Harris released his debut album, I Created Disco, in the summer of 2007. It featured two Top Ten hits ("Acceptable in the 80s" and "The Girls"), and climbed high in the album charts. Along with his work as a solo artist, including touring in front of a full live band, Harris quickly became an in-demand remixer — working on singles by Jamiroquai, Groove Armada, All Saints, and CSS. He also wrote and produced songs for Kylie Minogue's 2007 comeback album, and collaborated with Dizzee Rascal on "Dance wiv Me," which reached number one in the U.K.
"I'm Not Alone," the first single from his second album, also hit number one upon release in April 2009, as did the album when it appeared that August. That album, Ready for the Weekend, topped the U.K. album chart and peaked at number 12 on Billboard's U.S. dance/electronic chart. Through 2011, Harris took on production work for Example, Tinchy Stryder, and Rihanna ("We Found Love," a quadruple-platinum hit in the U.S.), while he also issued two more of his own singles (the Kelis collaboration "Bounce" and "Feel So Close"). Harris' third solo album, 18 Months, was a collaboration-filled affair that featured "We Found Love" and "Bounce" plus vocal spots from Ellie Goulding, Florence Welch, and Ne-Yo, among others. It was released in October of 2012. - iTunes

Again love the start of summer but then it gets quite generic for me. Nice to listen to in summer though
still loving summer~
Thankfully summer is almost over so I can stop hearing this all the time (or will it be another 'Summertime Sadness' I reckon? god no). Used to be amazing but the overplaying has really killed it for me.
I wish I didn't have to wait until October for the next Calvin Harris single. 'Summer' is still fab!

Good to see 'Don't' climbing the chart this week.
Also loving don't at the moment. Really liking Ed's new stuff
"Don't" is much superior to his other tracks, hope it can continue slowly climbing and become a big hit.
Big climb for 'Don't', hooray. Hope it can overtake 'Thinking Out Loud' soon (even though I actually prefer the latter, it can WAIT ITS TURN).
I guess this weeks dropouts are
5 Seconds Of Summer- Don't Stop
Milky Chance- Stolen Dance
Neon Jungle- Louder
Vic Mensa- Down On My Luck
Ooh I love a bit of 'Don't', been listening to 'x' a lot this week and I definitely think it's my second favourite after 'Sing' so great choice for second single!
Ouch at Louder
Don't is brilliant and I really want this to go top 10 at one point!
The video is still creepy though

Biography
Coldplay are a British rock band formed in 1996 by lead vocalist Chris Martin and lead guitarist Jonny Buckland at University College London. After they formed under the name Pectoralz, Guy Berryman joined the group as a bassist and they changed their name to Starfish. Will Champion joined as a drummer, backing vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist, completing the line-up. Manager Phil Harvey is often considered an unofficial fifth member. The band renamed themselves "Coldplay" in 1998, before recording and releasing three EPs; Safety in 1998, Brothers & Sisters as a single in 1999 and The Blue Room in the same year. The latter was their first release on a major label, after signing to Parlophone.
They achieved worldwide fame with the release of the single "Yellow" in 2000, followed by their debut album released in the same year, Parachutes, which was nominated for the Mercury Prize. The band's second album, A Rush of Blood to the Head (2002), was released to critical acclaim and won multiple awards, including NME's Album of the Year. They have also come top of the BBC Radio 2 poll of the favourite album of all time. Their next release, X&Y, the best-selling album worldwide in 2005, was met with mostly positive reviews upon its release, though some critics felt that it was inferior to its predecessor. The band's fourth studio album, Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends (2008), was produced by Brian Eno and released again to largely positive reviews, earning several Grammy nominations and wins at the 51st Grammy Awards. On 24 October 2011, they released their fifth studio album, Mylo Xyloto, which received mixed to positive reviews, topped the charts in over 34 countries, and was the UK's best-selling rock album of 2011.
The band has won a number of music awards throughout their career, including eight Brit Awards—winning Best British Group three times, five MTV Video Music Awards, and seven Grammy Awards from twenty five nominations. Coldplay have sold more than 60 million records worldwide. In December 2009, Rolling Stone readers voted the group the fourth-best artist of the 2000s.
Coldplay have been an active supporter of various social and political causes, such as Oxfam's Make Trade Fair campaign and Amnesty International. The group have also performed at various charity projects such as Band Aid 20, Live 8, Sound Relief, Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief, The Secret Policeman's Ball, and the Teenage Cancer Trust. - Wikipedia

A bit sick of 'A Sky Full Of Stars' now, but I still enjoy it
Hate a sky full of stars and pretty much all of coldplay's new stuff. Shame, they used to be fantastic
Good to see Coldplay still doing well with ASFOS. Sadly I don't think 'True Love' will dent the Top 40.
Does anyone know where Magic and A Sky Full Of Stars would've peaked if they had always been chart eligible?
Thanks for editing in the spoiler tags Ben. I tried to find them on my iPad but it did some code thing instead

I love this but I can't tell why Nice to see this surpassing last week's total posts in the thread before the Top 20!
I've gone right off this over the past week (although get that relevance oddly-named Popcaan *.*)
Her song with Kove is so much better.
Oops at this having the same first two weeks as Make U Bounce, hopefully should hold up better than that as its iTunes position has actually been okay all this week.
ouch streaming (or lack of it) is really hammering melissa steel's chart prospects~
Oh I like this song! The lyrics are a little but the chorus makes up for it
Yay loving this short clip of let it go again. Love Idina
This sounds very Ciara/Aaliyah-esque doesn't it? Not bad despite that terrible title.

Rixton still falling. Got to be up there with the biggest fallers from 1 this year. Fallen 19 places in the last 3 weeks
The song is ok but generic
Don't really get why this is falling so fast.
Out of all of the recent boyband hits, I really thought this would be one that would be a genuine hit and hang around for a while. Genuinely catchy song.
This is SO Lawson! Now 88 has made me appreciate it more, though.
at his parents being Colleen and Shane, at least this is better than the BUTCHERING of his father's 'I'm Your Man' cover!
So over this boybands frenzy.
We have One Direction, The Vamps, 5 Seconds Of Summer and now Rixton. We certainly don't need any more.
2 songs with single-digit weeks on the chart in a row
This song/they completely passed me by, I would've been quite shocked to hear this was number 1 if it's pre-order wasn't doing well? On first listen, does definitely sound like Maroon 5. Can't see them lasting all that long though if they're already at 20 after four weeks.
How has one day fallen so much?
Anyway first time hearing this
Absolutely adore this after 6 months, amazing

Biography
Lodewijk Fluttert (born 8 October 1991), known by the stage name of Bakermat, is a Dutch musical artist and record producer from the village of Markelo in Overijssel, now based in Utrecht. He is signed to the Soulmax agency. His music is a mix of electronic, house and techno music produced in a minimalist manner and with further jazz and soul influences.
Fluttert started his musical career while studying psychology at Utrecht University and moonlighting as a DJ in his spare time. He released his two EPs in 2012 called Zomer EP and Vandaag EP. The title track from the latter, consisting of an integrated sample of the "I Have a Dream" speech by Martin Luther King, Jr., charted as a single in the Netherlands, Belgium and France in late 2012 and spring 2013. In 2014, it was rereleased by Sony becoming a major charting hit particularly in Germany and Austria.
His 'Uitzicht' EP was released in 2013 on Soundplate Records. It has appeared in several iTunes charts including top 50 positions in the overall chart in Belgium and the Netherlands. Other popular tunes include "Black Cat John Brown", "Leven", "Strandfeest" and "Intro". He has also released a number of mixtapes on his soundcloud account. Bakermat confirmed that he will be performing at Tomorrowland 2014. - Wikipedia

Bakermat down Curse you streaming!!!
But this has been so high on iTunes all week. Such a brilliant track
Wow, Bakermat dropped from last week? Thought it would be on its way to the top 10.
Love this one. Phil Taggart introduced it to me a few months back.
noooooooooooooooooooo
gutted one day has fallen when the mids suggested it could be on course to climb~
Wow Vandaag is low!
Not enjoying the negative effect streaming is having on this either.
It is completely wonderful and joyous - so much better than Changes and Jubel. I have loved it for nearly 2 years now though, so am thrilled to see it in the charts.
Liking this on first listen but changes and Jubel are better in my view
For me it sounds like infinity 2008 (love that song)
Sales must be awful if this is #19 considering its success on iTunes
The streaming curse
This is just SO gorgeous. Should've gone Top 10.
I expected it to be much higher today, shame about the drop.
Bakermat still slaying the top 20 with no airplay
Sorry, still don't get the appeal.
Hurrah for the continued presence of more saxophone-led dance songs Hope it can go top 10 eventually.
I'm just wondering, is it the same guy playing sax on all these European dance tracks?
I wonder if this sax-dance craze will result in a remixed/cover version of this Eurovision classic?
Saxtastic
Also really like thinking out loud but was expecting it higher this week
This is kind of boring in comparison to 'Don't' and 'Sing' but I still like.

'Thinking Out Loud' still slaying
Thinking Out Loud is his first good song I hear in ages, after the awfulness of his first two singles !
Ooh new peak for 'Thinking Out Loud'! Hopefully 'Don't' can overtake soon though as much as I love both!
thinking out loud is so coma inducing~
Its beginning to be quite a chore to listen to the chart with these tracks that are hardly moving each week. Having streaming added seems to be killing it. Well... that's my two pence worth.
The more the song plays the more it grows on me!

I must be the only person who hates this. Hate this song so much

'Waves' still sounding great.
'Waves' is so chill and is still great but I'm really looking forward to 'Prayer In C' impacting the chart
Congrats Martin on 110k posts and Math on 1.4k posts
The sales-only chart isn't really moving that fast either? It's just a generally quiet period for new releases, which streaming will make a bit more quieter.

Third and final track from Ed Sheeran today. 'Sing' is a great track and a future anthem imo.
Not a fan of 'Sing' much anymore but if it means 'Chandelier' is one spot higher than I'm happy to wait through it
'Sing' is weirdly sounding even better than usual today!
-x-
Also, add me to the listens to the chart online club as well
I just realised that Slipknot didn't make the top 40. I'm guessing we're all too devastated about the news to comment on it.
Here we go! Chandelier
Chandelier
Sia smashes this and the song is so so amazing, love this and glad it's climbing again
I always hear "When will I Lauren" and then think of Eastenders Great song though!

Biography
Although the first solo single from soul-inspired, London-born artist Sam Smith was issued in early 2013, it was his soaring vocal contribution to Disclosure's October 2012 U.K. garage track "Latch" which brought him to most people's attention. For most of his teens, Smith balanced study with music, soaking in the raw and passionate approach to performance exemplified by his favorite artists at that time such as Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, and Chaka Khan. "Latch" hit the upper reaches of the U.K. singles chart when Smith was 21, and many were surprised when his debut solo track took a more tempered path. The production on February 2013's "Lay Me Down" — also courtesy of the ordinarily dancefloor-focused duo Disclosure — recalled the stripped-back material that had proved successful for Adele in the preceding years. Next, Shahid Khan — aka Naughty Boy — decided to follow his Emeli Sandé-fronted U.K. Top Ten hit "Wonder" with the infectious, Bollywood sample-driven "La La La." Featuring Smith's powerful lead vocal, it became an instant May 2013 U.K. number one single following his spring tour in support of Sandé. - iTunes

Biography
The work of rapper and producer will.i.am helped make Black Eyed Peas one of the most intriguing acts in hip-hop, and later made them one of the most popular acts on the charts when the albums Elephunk (2003) and Monkey Business (2005) started ascending the charts. During 2005-2007, he also helmed tracks for Pussycat Dolls, John Legend, bandmate Fergie, the Game, Ciara, Nicole Scherzinger, and Macy Gray. His solo career consisted of a project for the British rap label BBE (Lost Change), several mix albums, and in 2007, his major-label nod, Songs About Girls. It wasn't until 2013's guest-heavy #willpower that the pop star would release a solo outing again, this time enlisting an all-star list of collaborators including everyone from Britney Spears and Miley Cyrus to Juicy J. - iTunes

Ariana's first EVER number 1
Still love problem Ariana and Iggy are amazing on it
One of the best #1's this year
Still absolutely love this So infectious, I can't help moving in my chair while I listen to it!
After initially loving 'Problem' it's starting to grate as of late - I think it's the enunciation.
'Problem' has really grown on me lately. I wasn't fussed on it to start with, but now I love it!

Ooh yesss 'Faded' What an absolutely gorgeous track!
Not heard faded yet. First listen now
Will listen until Cheryl/George, skipping top 3 as one republic is ok but id wprather stream and listen to anoer song then and I don't want t put my ears through magic and Nico and Vinz
Really don't understand how this became such a hit. I mean, it's probably going to pull a 'Touch' and have no longevity but I'm happy to see something other than the standard deep-house formula impact the chart in such a way
Liking this on first listen, for me it sounds similar to that grammarphone (not sure on name of artist) who did why don't you
Faded is a pretty good deep house track. I'm quite glad it's doing well in the chart
faded ~ absolute bomb
baby, i'm wasted naked, all I wanna do is drive home to you baby ~
Loving Faded on first listen Just as good if not better than Paradise Awaits. These synths are particularly glorious, sound quite late 80s. Love it!

Unexpected climb to #4 for Coldplay but otherwise zzz.
So glad how well Dolly has done with this album
Love hearing 9 to 5 in the background, it's such an amazing and legendary song
Amazing to see how well Dolly is doing! Never expected that!
Excuse me but what is this? I feel so out of the loop
Maybe they should exclude Ed Sheeran from the chart as punishment for breaking the embargo?
Good to see Coldplay back in the Top 5 albums. I bet sales are low though
Why they playing this???
Will probably give them another boost when it's the Saturdays and Kiesza who deserve their boosts
Anyway not liking this on first listen (even though its live lounge, I doubt the studio version will be better)
For a minute I thought this track charted top 5.
One of the Rizzle Kicks guys' singing voices sounds like Calvin Harris'
R1's album chart people are asleep again this week.

Biography
Cheryl Ann Fernandez-Versini (née Tweedy, formerly Cole; born 30 June 1983), known professionally as Cheryl Cole, is an English recording artist, songwriter, dancer, and television personality. She rose to fame in late 2002 when she auditioned for the reality television show Popstars: The Rivals on ITV. The programme announced that Cole had won a place as a member of the girl group Girls Aloud. The group's line-up remained the same throughout their history and during that time the group achieved a string of twenty consecutive top ten singles in the United Kingdom (including four number one singles) and six platinum albums (two of which went to number one) and earned five BRIT Award nominations from 2005 to 2010. In 2009, Girls Aloud won "Best Single" with their song "The Promise". In early 2013, Girls Aloud announced that they had split up.
Cole embarked on a solo career and released her first solo studio album 3 Words (2009) through Polydor records. 3 Words saw the release of three successful singles and the lead single from the album, "Fight for This Love," debuted at number one on the UK charts, becoming the best selling single of the year. "3 Words" and "Parachute" both peaked within the top five of the UK charts. 2010 saw the release of Cole's second studio album Messy Little Raindrops, which produced two singles, the first being "Promise This" which went straight to number one. Cole released her third solo album A Million Lights on 18 June 2012, with lead single "Call My Name" being released on 11 June 2012, the single became Cole's third number one single. During her solo career, Cole has earned three BRIT Award nominations.
Cole has become a recognised and photographed style icon; referred to as a fashionista by the press. She has been photographed for the covers of British Vogue, Elle and Harper's Bazaar, while becoming the new face of cosmetic company L'Oréal. Cole was married to England footballer Ashley Cole from July 2006 until September 2010, when she divorced him following the announcement of their separation earlier that year. Cole became a judge on the UK version of The X Factor in 2008, becoming the winning judge twice out of the three series she judged. In 2011, Cole left the UK version of The X Factor to judge the American version. However, Cole was sacked from the show. Cole's net worth was estimated at £15 million in April 2012. On 10 March 2014, it was announced that Cole would return as a judge on the U.K. version of The X Factor for its eleventh series, signing a £1.5 million contract. - Wikipedia

Another song I love
Crazy stupid love
And this is probably my last post in this thread this week as I am switching off after Cheryl has finished singing
'la la la la la love'
Wasn't a fan at first but now I adore this! Still not keen on Tinie's part though, much worst than most of his offerings.
Yay for Cheryl ! She isn't falling much and its chart run is more than decent so far !
I just dont get the hype for this song, Its not her best at all IMO
Actually you know what Tinie's rap is growing on me All around great song!
I'm rather glad I wasn't here to see this top the charts - the trumpets & Tinie sound awful and the song just sounds so demo-like and dull. Such a damp squid of a lead single.
Crazy Stupid Love So much love for this track.

Biography
OneRepublic is an American pop rock band from Colorado Springs, Colorado. Formed in 2002 by Ryan Tedder and Zach Filkins, the band achieved commercial success on MySpace as an unsigned act. In 2003, the band was discovered by actress Kelly Barrett in Hollywood who connected them directly with her cousins Jimmy Ienner and Donnie Ienner, who was the President of Sony at that time, by making one phone call to get the AR Reps to their show. They then signed to Sony BMG for three years, before moving to Mosley Music Group.
In 2007, OneRepublic released their debut album, Dreaming Out Loud. Its lead single, "Apologize" was notably remixed by Timbaland, becoming a huge international success, reaching number one in sixteen countries, subsequently earning them a Grammy Award nomination. The second single, "Stop and Stare" mirrored its predecessor's success. The album was later certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The band's second album, Waking Up (2009), produced the successful singles, "All the Right Moves", "Secrets", "Marchin On", and "Good Life", the latter reaching the top ten of the US Billboard Hot 100.
OneRepublic's third album, Native (2013), became the band's first top ten album on the Billboard 200, and highest charting album to date, charting at number four. The lead single, "If I Lose Myself" charted within the top ten in several countries, while the album's third single, "Counting Stars", became the band's most successful single in recent years, obtaining top five placements in Australia, Canada, Germany, Ireland, New Zealand, the U.S. and the UK. This marks their highest charting single in the United Kingdom to date. It has also peaked at number 2 on the US Billboard Hot 100, matching their highest peak of "Apologize" in 2007. - Wikipedia

It's so amazing to hear Love Runs Out!
Ryan Tedder produced battlefield
OMG I love him even so much more now. Battlefield is one of the best songs ever ever ever
Now, bye
So pleased this is top 3 - amazing song!
Wait. hey Ryan! I don't have the video on but I can picture what the looks like because I just saw OneRepublic in concert a couple months ago and it was fab
'Love Runs Out' is pretty weak. Big credit to OneRepublic for more than doubling their number of top 10 hits after they seemed to be well past the brink of irrelevance though.
Modest chap, isn't he?
I knew he produced all of those except Battlefield, but now that makes complete sense! I think I'm in the minority that really likes Love Runs Out, the bassline that comes in the start of the second verse and remains for the remainder of the song is so good
Actually really like this on first listen, a lot more instant than Counting Stars was for me.
Amaze top 2.

That chart run for Nico & Vinz.
Great #1, should stay for a second week.
'Rude' is yet to grate on me even though basically everybody else in my family is so sick of me playing it
*.* Your non A-Ha, Christian from A1 and Lene from Aqua Norwegian faves could never
Love this song but feel like I could easily get bored of it
I always get so confused whenever somebody that I love has a voice that I'd never expect! Oliver Heldens etc.
To think 'Am I Wrong' only came 26th in BJSC last year.

Biography
The first major girl band to be launched in the U.K. after a multi-year drought, five-piece pop group the Saturdays boasted a photogenic appearance and electro-pop sound, leading to their labeling by some critics as the new Girls Aloud. Formed in 2007 through auditions that were held by a management company hoping to revive the flagging pop market, all five members had previous performing experience. Una Healy started singing in a rock band and later recorded her own solo album, which she showcased around bars and clubs in her native Ireland. Vanessa White attended the prestigious Sylvia Young Theatre School and appeared in the West End production of The Lion King. Mollie King had been part of girl band Fallen Angels, who made it through to the boot camp stages of ITV's The X Factor, while the two most recognizable members, Frankie Sanford and Rochelle Wiseman, were previously in teen pop band S Club Juniors, who scored six Top Ten hits in the early noughties. The band signed to an offshoot of Polydor Records, Fascination, the home of Girls Aloud, whom they later supported on the Tangled Up tour. Their first single, "If This Is Love," sampled Yazoo's "Situation" and reached number eight in the U.K. charts. Their self-titled debut album then appeared at the end of 2008. The group followed up with the mini-album Headlines!, led by the single "Missing You," in 2010. The Saturdays spent the bulk of the first part of 2011 working on their third album. The first single from the record, "My Heart Takes Over," was released in September, with the full-length On Your Radar appearing in November. The single "30 Days" followed in 2012. In 2013, the Saturdays released the EP Chasing the Saturdays, which took its title from the group's reality series on the E! network. ~ Jon O'Brien, Rovi / iTunes
