France hasn't gotten any better, some decent drama Episode 5, but only because nobody knows what they are doing.
The Grandmothers were the worst Catfish/Contestant by far.. Cedric isn't far behind tho. Ugh. I actually don't think there's a contestant I like outside of.. Elea maybe? That's just by default. Cedric is just an ass and somehow took Ines down with him. Gary is cute and fun but boring AF. Romain I don't mind, but if you're going to have nice, luxurious long hair.. make it look nice. He looks like a rat. |

France: So I've completed the chore of watching this. I haven't seen UK Season 1, but I expect if I did, France would still be at the bottom. It did pick up a bit towards the end but I'd give this a pass if you don't have the time.
It almost followed the UK TV model using days, rather than Brazil/US where it was just fluid. Cedric again was probably one of the worst RTV Contestants in recent memory. Gary couldn't keep his mouth shut or stay loyal and actually took Ines down with him. If I was her I'd be pissed! Romain/Elea/Valeria should have been the heroes. Underdogs to Victors but Romain made it really unwatchable. Valeria/Max and Gabriel/Rudy were great catfishes. 3 at the end too. Wow. Finally got around to watching the French series. I actually loved it, it was far more strategic than the other seasons and the teams that formed were both brilliant. A lot of people shot themselves in the foot (Gary, Virginie), a couple were just horrible (Nicolas, Nelia). I was rooting for Romain in the beginning, but he got REALLY cocky and I disliked him in the last few episodes. He did play an amazing game, though, and so did the rest of the top 5 other than Nelia. Cedric was awesome too in the beginning, everything seemed to work out perfectly for him. I was glad he went down, his elimination was so suspenseful, reality TV gold.
I am mad at Ines for not doing anything with Gary's intel after he left, she should have gathered everyone in the group chat that wasn't #TeamWinner and tried to get them to break up the team. Oh well. I hope the Circle France and Brazil get renewed soon and perhaps we could get more international versions, such as The Circle Spain. Netflix UK are finally getting the US version in January
 Weird timing though as I thought the UK celebrity edition was also coming in January and the original reason we didn’t get the Netflix version was to prevent overkill. |
