And just like that we lose the second Gareth Gates single before the halfway point. Released as the official Comic Relief single of 2003, Gareth decided to cover the 1969 Norman Greenbaum song with a little help from popular fictional Indian family of the time The Kumars - the video was played an awful lot on the music channels at the time and the Kumars made it very watchable. The track spent a fortnight at #1 in March 2003 - dethroning Christina Aguilera's 'Beautiful' in the process - and finished the year on 550,000 copies sold!
Vote for your least favourite. 07. Gareth Gates - Spirit In the Sky [31.71%] 13 out of 41 votes 08. The X Factor Finalists 2008 - Hero [37.50%] 12 out of 32 votes 09. Eamon - F**k It (I Don't Want You Back) [40.91%] 18 out of 44 votes 10. Gareth Gates - Unchained Melody [38.10%] 16 out of 42 votes |

The ad-libs in that song varied from being quite humourous to completely cringeworthy.

Right, now I'm going for 'That's My Goal', uninspired dull faux-rousing winner's singles are the bane of my existence.

A shame to see Spirit In The Sky go there, it was a fun cover. Going for A Moment Like This again.

'A Moment Like This' once again.
SITS would have been my song to go out after two other songs so would be 5th best remaining. |

Leona but I’d be equally happy to be rid of HearSay.
The Shayne Ward song at least gave us the iconic AbLisa moment a few years later. |
